The Arizona Cardinals re-signed WR Jeremy Ross to a one-year contract Friday, Feb. 24. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Cardinals | Arizona cuts Michael Floyd Wed Dec 14, 03:22 PM
Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd was released Wednesday, Dec. 14. The team also signed free-agent WR Jeremy Ross (Jets). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Floyd was arrested for a DUI earlier this week, and the Cardinals decided to part ways with him. A free agent in 2017, Floyd hasn't done himself any favors with poor play on the field and another DUI (he had one in college at Notre Dame). The Cardinals move on and J.J. Nelson should see a bump without Floyd on the field. |

Jets | Jeremy Ross cut Sat Sep 3, 11:37 AM

Footballguys view: Ross has bounced around the league during his pro career. He was competing with the Jets to be a return man. |

Jets | Jeremy Ross's returns could save spot Thu Sep 1, 05:20 PM
New York Jets WR Jeremy Ross is considered to be on the roster bubble, but he could solidify his roster spot as a return man. He did serve as the main returner in training camp.
Footballguys view: The Jets have some banged up players, some of whom (Devin Smith, for one) are on the PUP to start the season which could mean an extra roster spot. On the other hand, the Jets could keep four quarterbacks, which would eat up another spot. Either way, Ross is intriguing only in terms of fantasy for Jets D/Special teams units and he's no Devin Hester. |

Lions | Ryan Broyles on outside looking in? Thu Aug 13, 12:10 AM
Detroit Lions WR Ryan Broyles is not expected to make the 53-man roster, according to beat writer Tim Twentyman. He feels the Lions will keep five wide receivers with WRs Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate, Corey Fuller, Jeremy Ross and Lance Moore making the roster.
Footballguys view: Broyles may always be remembered as "what might have been" because of injuries that derailed his career (even back in college). We'll see if he can do enough to make the final roster in Detroit. |

Lions | Detroit's slot WR job up for grabs Mon Jul 6, 07:02 PM
Detroit Lions WRs Jeremy Ross, Corey Fuller, Ryan Broyles and Lance Moore will all be candidates for the slot receiver job during training camp. Ross worked with the first-team offense during offseason workouts, but his roster spot is uncertain at this point.
Footballguys view: RB Theo Riddick could also figure into the mix. Moore is the grizzled veteran of the group and he seems to be happy to be out of Pittsburgh. Broyles' perseverance has to be admired after coming back from yet another catastrophic injury. Ross will likely make the team as a return man, and Fuller has the best deep speed of the group, with some upside as a receiver to spare. When you add in 2014 first-round TE Eric Ebron and redzone monster Joseph Fauria, the Lions have a diverse supporting cast behind Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate in the passing game. |

Lions | Jeremy Ross signs tender Mon Apr 20, 05:29 PM
Detroit Lions WR Jeremy Ross signed his exclusive-rights free-agent tender Monday, April 20.
Footballguys view: Ross is a decent option as a slot receiver and kick/punt returner. He's an explosive athlete who runs like a running back after the catch. Ross had a career-high 24 catches for 314 receiving yards and one touchdown in 2014. |

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) didn't practice for the sixth straight day Friday, Oct. 17. Head coach Jim Caldwell isn't ruling him out for Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints, but he also didn't make it sound like Johnson would play, either. Johnson said earlier this week that he sees no reason to rush back to the field until he's completely healthy. Lions | Calvin Johnson missed another practice Fri Oct 10, 12:42 PM
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) skipped his third straight practice of the week Friday, Oct. 10, for the first time this year. Head coach Jim Caldwell said a decision on Johnson's status for Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings has not been determined, however. 'And also, you never know. There's a possibility. A couple weeks ago, I really didn't think he'd be available but the fact of the matter is he came out after doctors looked at him and said, hey, you know what, he can go,' Caldwell said. WRs Corey Fuller, Jeremy Ross and Ryan Broyles and TE Eric Ebron would be tasked with replacing Johnson as a committee if he doesn't play.
Footballguys view: Johnson not playing would honestly be best for his owners and the Lions right now anyway. He has only gotten worse trying to play through the injury over the last two weeks. Golden Tate becomes a must start with Johnson out. |

Lions | Jeremy Ross wants expanded role Sat Sep 13, 10:33 AM
Detroit Lions WR Jeremy Ross wants to be known for more than just returning kicks. "There's been a lot of return people, guys who don't really do well at receiver or are just known for returns," Ross said. "I don't want to just be that guy. I don't want to be a one-dimensional guy, I want to be a multidimensional guy. I want to have success at return, but then also wideout, too."
Footballguys view: Behind Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate there's very little to prevent him from at least getting a shot. Ryan Broyles was inactive Week 1 and is often hurt, while Corey Fuller is a developing second-year player. That said, the number 3 receiver in Detroit is almost irrelevant. If he's not going with Johnson/Tate, Stafford looks for Reggie Bush or a tight end. We'll see if that changes, but we are skeptical. |

Lions | Jeremy Ross has chance to win slot job Wed Jul 16, 01:17 PM
Detroit Lions WR Jeremy Ross has a good chance to win the slot receiver job during training camp. Ross likely will make the team even if he does not win the job, because he is a returner.
Footballguys view: Ross is a talented player with good quick-twitch ability and elusiveness after the catch. He's a good option as a slot receiver behind Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate. His fantasy value is low because the team should use plenty of rookie tight end Eric Ebron this season. |

Lions | Reggie Bush won't return kicks Mon Jun 9, 12:40 PM
Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush has no plans to be considered for kick or punt returns in 2014. 'As of right now, no,' Bush said. 'And hopefully, no. I'd like to think I graduated from returning kicks and punts,' Bush said.
Footballguys view: The team needs to keep Bush healthy, and there's no need to risk an injury on special teams. We'll see WR Jeremy Ross continue to be the Lions primary return man. |

Lions | Jeremy Ross likely to return punts Mon Jun 9, 08:56 AM
Detroit Lions WR Jeremy Ross is likely the unquestioned punt returner for the team. WR Golden Tate has offered to return punts, but the team wants him to focus on offense.
Footballguys view: Ross has to do what it takes to make the final roster. He's quick and elusive, so returning punts is right up his alley. |

Lions | Jeremy Ross re-signed Mon Apr 7, 05:24 PM

Lions | Golden Tate interested in returning punts Sat Mar 15, 11:58 AM
Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate said he is not sure if the team will use him as a punt returner, but he would like to compete for that job. Tate likely would have to compete with WR Jeremy Ross if he is given the chance for the job.
Footballguys view: If Tate is going to be a big part of the offense, then perhaps the team won't want him returning punts. That's something he could do from time to time. Ross is a good enough return man that the Lions don't need to force Tate at the position. |

The Detroit Lions are expected to re-sign exclusive rights free-agent WRs Kris Durham and Jeremy Ross this offseason.

Lions | Jeremy Ross may get bigger role Mon Feb 10, 02:32 PM
Detroit Lions WR Jeremy Ross could have a bigger role in the offense next season.
Footballguys view: Ross has bounced around the league a little bit during his short pro career. He does have strong run-after-the-catch ability, and Ross can make defenders miss in the open field. The Lions are seeking better weapons in the passing game outside of Calvin Johnson. |
