A judge has ordered the arrest of former NFL WR Charles Rogers after he failed to appear at a court hearing in Michigan. Rogers is charged with making a malicious phone call and conspiring to commit that crime March 5 and 6, and possessing marijuana, possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked license in December.

Former NFL WR Charles Rogers threatened to kill his mother if she didn't give back $100,000, according to a police report. The report says that Rogers and his uncle Ronie Rogers made a malicious phone call to Cathy Rogers and conspired to threaten her. Rogers surrendered to authorities last week on two misdemeanor charges.

The Associated Press reports U.S. District Judge Julian Abele Cook ruled that unrestricted free-agent WR Charles Rogers (Lions) must give the Detroit Lions $6.1 million from the $9.1 million signing bonus he received. Rogers was suspended for substance abuse in 2005 and was released the next year.

Lions | Suing to recover $6.1 million from C. Rogers Wed Sep 9, 10:49 PM
The Associated Press reports the Detroit Lions have gone to federal court to recover $6.1 million from former WR Charles Rogers (Lions). An NFL arbitrator agreed last year that Rogers must repay the team, but he apparently has not paid them yet. The team filed suit Wednesday, Sept. 9, against Rogers in Detroit federal court.

The Canadian Press reports free-agent WR Charles Rogers (Lions) is ineligible to play in the Canadian Football League because he is currently under suspension from the NFL. Winnipeg Blue Bombers head coach Mike Kelly said Tuesday, Sept. 1, that the team had an interest in Rogers. However, officials at the league's home office confirmed Rogers' suspension.
