The team also waived OG Robert T. Griffin.

The New York Jets announced Wednesday, Oct. 19, they have signed WR Eron Riley to the active roster from the Denver Broncos' practice squad.
| Footballguys view: Riley made big plays for the Broncos in the preseason. Our very own Cecil Lammey watched Riley up close during practice each day during training camp and came away impressed. Riley has good concentration, burst in the open field, and good 'my ball' mentality. He could also help the team as a return man as well. |

The Denver Broncos have waived QB Adam Weber, RBs Austin Sylvester and Jeremiah Johnson, WR Britt Davis, D'Andre Goodwin, Greg Orton and Eron Riley, TE Dan Gronkowski, OL Stanley Daniels, Adam Grant and Eric Olsen, DL Jeremy Beal, Ronnell Brown, Jeremy Jarmon and DeMario Pressley, LB Alvin Bowen, CB Brandon Bing and S Kyle McCarthy. The team also released WR David Anderson. RB Brandon Minor (undisclosed), WR Jamel Hamler (back) and CB Syd'Quan Thompson (Achilles') were placed on Injured Reserve, ending their 2011 seasons.
| Footballguys view: A few surprises here. Many thought David Anderson would make the final roster but he was outplayed in the preseason by Eron Riley. Jeremiah Johnson looked good in training camp but was inconsistent in the team's preseason games. Jarmon was involved in the Jabar Gaffney trade but didn't impress enough to make the roster. Some of these guys will be brought back on the practice squad if they clear waivers. |

The Baltimore Ravens have announced they have waived WR Jayson Foster, OG Bryan Mattison, CB Evan Oglesby, OT Joe Reitz, OT Stefan Rodgers, TE Isaac Smolko, OL Tre' Stallings, WR Ernie Wheelwright, DT Nader Abdallah, FB Jason Cook, TE Davon Drew, LB Tony Fein, S K.J. Gerard, RB Cedric Peerman, WR Eron Riley and LB William VanDeSteeg. The Ravens have also waived DT William Johnson (shoulder) after reaching an injury settlement.
| Footballguys view: Harper's highlight reel plays in preseason games weren't enough to overcome his inconsistency in practice. Cedric Peerman is the versatile rookie back from Virginia, and he could find a home with another team. He has NFL game, but the Ravens backfield is very crowded, and the team decided to keep Jalen Parmele over the rookie. We like Davon Drew's potential as a tight end, but he is a raw prospect having only played the position for two years (he was a converted quarterback). |

Mike Duffy, of BaltimoreRavens.com, reports the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to terms with undrafted free-agent WR Eron Riley (Duke), WR Isaiah Williams (Mayland) and OT Cameron Goldberg (Duke), according to reports. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
| Footballguys view: A surprise to many, the Ravens failed to address their need at WR in the 2009 NFL Draft. Eron Riley could be an interesting option for QB Joe Flacco. He is a big target at 6'3" 205 lbs, and finished his career at Duke with 144 receptions - 2,413 yards - and 22 TD's. His career yards per reception of 20.7 is tops among active wide receivers in the ACC with a minimum 40 career catches. |
