Free-agent TE Matt Bushman, QB Chris Oladokun, RB La'Mical Perine, WR Cornell Powell and RB Deneric Prince were signed to the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Footballguys view: Prince is a player we love in super deep dynasty formats. A Matt Waldman favorite, Prince could elevate up the depth chart and onto the active roster as the season goes on.

Chiefs | Kansas City signs 11 to future contracts    Wed Feb 15, 05:41 PM

Free-agent TE Kendall Blanton, CB Dicaprio Bootle, TE Matt Bushman, OG Mike Caliendo, LB Cole Christiansen, WR Jerrion Ealy, QB Chris Oladokun, RB La'Mical Perine, WR Cornell Powell, DT Danny Shelton and WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette signed Reserve/Future contracts with the Kansas City Chiefs Wednesday, Feb. 15. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: In crazy deep dynasty formats, we still have some love for Perine. On that Chiefs' offense, a player like Perine could thrive if he ever got a chance. Smith-Marsette was an interesting fifth-round pick for the Vikings in the 2021 NFL draft, and we'll keep monitoring him in deep dynasty formats.

Chiefs | Kansas City signs 14 to PS    Wed Aug 31, 06:25 PM

Free-agent S Zayne Anderson, OG Mike Caliendo, LB Jack Cochrane, RB Jerrion Ealy, WR Daurice Fountain, TE Jordan Franks, S Nazeeh Johnson, DE Azur Kamara, LB Elijah Lee, QB Chris Oladokun, WR Cornell Powell, C Austin Reiter, DT Danny Shelton and DT Taylor Stallworth were signed to the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Footballguys view: We've got a soft spot for Fountain, so of course, we won't give up on him in super deep crazy deep dynasty formats. He's got skill as a route-runner, and Fountain does have a strong 'my ball' mentality in addition to quickness and body control. On this offense, that skill set could mean something. It's probably not going to happen for him in the pros, but sometimes you just can't give up on a guy.

Chiefs | KC signs rest of draft class    Thu May 13, 07:29 PM

Kansas City Chiefs second-round draft choice C Creed Humphrey, fourth-round draft choice DE Joshua Kaindoh, fifth-round draft choice TE Noah Gray and fifth-round draft choice WR Cornell Powell signed four-year contracts with the Chiefs Thursday, May 13. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: The player we are most interested in here is Powell. He may be a no.2 receiver for the Chiefs someday, a role that would have plenty of fantasy value. Powell has great ball skills and can track passes down field with ease. He needs to clean up his route running but the skill is there for him to be a no.2 in the league. Gray is a player we'll monitor in dynasty formats, and his skill set is that of an H-back/Tight End who can contribute as a receiver and as a blocker.

Chiefs | Cornell Powell eyeing No. 2 gig?    Fri May 7, 10:42 PM

Kansas City Chiefs WR Cornell Powell had the second-highest win rate of any receiver in one-on-ones against press coverage during the Senior Bowl, according to Mike Renner of Pro Football Focus, and Renner believes that skill will translate quickly in the NFL and give Powell a chance to win the No. 2 receiver job as a rookie.

Footballguys view: The Chiefs could have gotten a solid future starter in Powell...in the fifth round! Powell is a Clemson wide receiver, and he was initially buried on the depth chart in college by several future NFL wideouts. As a senior, he flourished and showed why he was a Tigers recruit. Powell has great ball skills and can track passes down field with ease. He needs to clean up his route running but the skill is there for him to be a no.2 in the league. In THAT offense, he certainly has a ton of fantasy potential if he eventually wins that job.

NFL | Cornell Powell has solid Pro Day    Thu Mar 11, 04:58 PM

Clemson WR Cornell Powell posted unofficial times of 4.51 seconds and 4.53 seconds in the 40-yard dash at his Pro Day Thursday, March 11. He also recorded a 36 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-8 broad jump.

Footballguys view: Powell is a redshirt senior who took time to make an impact for Clemson. He ramped up his game in 2020 and had some big moments. Powell has good hands and concentration as a receiver. His limited production time in college makes him an intriguing late-round prospect.
