Titans | Make two roster moves Tue Mar 3, 05:37 PM
Free-agent LB Jonathan Massaquoi (Falcons) was claimed by the Tennessee Titans Tuesday, March 3. The Titans also officially released SS Bernard Pollard.
Footballguys view: Massaquoi needed a fresh start after falling out of favor with the Falcons. Effort and motivation are question marks, and Massaquoi needs to prove that he can be a decent pass-rusher when given the opportunity. |

Titans | Defensive staff changes could be coming Mon Dec 30, 06:16 AM
If he is retained for 2014, Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak may have to look into shaking up his coaching staff. Defensive coordinator Jerry Gray and senior assistant/defense Gregg Williams both have expiring contracts, and Titans S Bernard Pollard said he couldn't see a scenario in which Gray and Williams work together next season. "Coach Williams was asked to come into a situation and be a voice, but at the same time, it's not his ship to run; it's Coach Gray's ship," Pollard said.

Titans | Bernard Pollard thinks team can win it all Wed Jun 19, 05:17 PM
Tennessee Titans SS Bernard Pollard said the believes the Titans have the talent to win the Super Bowl and need to have aggressive attitude on defense. 'Our goal is the Super Bowl, and our mission is to kill,' Pollard said. And if someone doesn't like it, then who cares? I really couldn't care less. It is not our responsibility to make anyone else happy, to please you, to care about you. Our responsibility is to protect LP Field and our responsibility is to steal wins on the road. And our responsibility is to (beat you up) as a defense, and that's what we're going to do on every single play. You have to have that mentality because nobody cares about the Tennessee Titans. Nobody. So you have to take the respect. That's what we have to do.'
Footballguys view: Don't bet your mortgage here. The Titans will go as far as young QB Jake Locker can take them. They're the third best team in their division and it would be difficult for them to even win a Wild Card spot. |

Ravens | Bernard Pollard may cover Vernon Davis Sun Feb 3, 09:14 AM
Baltimore Ravens SS Bernard Pollard could be assigned the task of covering San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis in Super Bowl XLVII. Physically, Pollard may be the best option for the Ravens to handle Davis' size and overall ability.
Footballguys view: This is the best move for the Ravens. Davis has a freakish size/speed combination and is difficult for most Safeties to cover. Pollard is physical enough to hang with Davis near the line of scrimmage but lacks the speed to cover him downfield. |

NFL | Will fans grow tired of the product? Mon Jan 28, 08:43 AM
Baltimore Ravens SS Bernard Pollard believes the NFL could cease to exist in 30 years due to the league's emphasis on player safety. Pollard feels fans will get fed up watching more flags thrown for violent hits. 'Thirty years from now, I don't think it will be in existence,' Pollard said. 'I could be wrong. It's just my opinion, but I think with the direction things are going - where they (NFL rules makers) want to lighten up, and they're throwing flags and everything else - there's going to come a point where fans are going to get fed up with it.' Pollard is also afraid a player may die during a game. 'The league is trying to move in the right direction (with player safety), but, at the same time, (coaches) want bigger, stronger and faster year in and year out,' Pollard said. 'And that means you're going to keep getting big hits and concussions and blown-out knees. The only thing I'm waiting for ... and, Lord, I hope it doesn't happen ... is a guy dying on the field. We've had everything else happen there except for a death. We understand what we signed up for, and it sucks.'
