Carolina Panthers DE Julius Peppers is planning on taking a 'couple of weeks' to decide if he wants to return next year, according to a league source, who also claims Peppers' decision is '50-50.'

His 5.0 sacks in 2018 were the lowest since an injury shortened 2007 with the Panthers. We expect Peppers would have some interest if he decides to keep playing in 2019. |

Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers DE Julius Peppers (shoulder) underwent surgery Thursday, Feb. 8, to repair the labrum in his shoulder, according to a source. Peppers has not decided if he will play in 2018.

S Mike Adams (rest), DE Mario Addison (hip), DT Vernon Butler (shoulder), S Kurt Coleman (ankle), DE Wes Horton (rib), C Ryan Kalil (shoulder), QB Cam Newton (shoulder), TE Greg Olsen (foot), DE Julius Peppers (rest), RB Jonathan Stewart (back) and LB Shaq Thompson (foot) all participated fully in practice Friday and have been removed from the injury report.

Carolina Panthers DE Julius Peppers said he hasn't decided yet on whether he will play in the 2018 season. He added that his focus is on the team's Wild Card round playoff game Sunday, Jan. 7, versus the New Orleans Saints.
| Footballguys view: In 16 games this year, Peppers proved that he can still play at a high level and compiled 11 sacks along the way. He is set to be a free agent in March, and the soon to be 38-year old pass rusher still has quite a bit left in the tank. |
