Rams | RB Richardson working towards bigger role Mon Jun 17, 05:18 PM
St. Louis Rams second-year RB Daryl Richardson is ready for competition for the starting job in training camp. "I'm definitely working toward a bigger role,'' Richardson said. "I'm excited about getting a chance to show the coaching staff what I can do. I definitely feel like I can be the starter, but I guess that's something that will be decided in training camp. We're all friends, working to push each other and to make each other better, but we're also all trying to be that No. 1 guy.''
Footballguys view: The team is going to use a form of a RBBC but Richardson is likely to be their big play back. Rookie Zac Stacy (Vanderbilt) could win the job as the team's hammer as he can grind down opponents between the tackles. Second-year back Isaiah Pead is in the mix as well but will miss one game due to violating the league's substance abuse policy. |

Rams | Expectations still high for Pead Sat Jun 1, 07:50 PM
The St. Louis Rams reportedly knew about Pead's impending one-game suspension for months but still have high expectations for the 2012 second-round pick.
Footballguys view: Pead will miss the first game of the season for violating the league's substance abuse policy. He can still practice with the team this offseason, through training camp and the preseason. Pead is competing with Daryl Richardson and rookie Zac Stacy (Vanderbilt) to be the team's starting RB in 2013. |

49ers | Will have tough decision to make at fullback Tue Jun 29, 08:20 PM
The San Francisco 49ers will have a tough decision to make at fullback, where FB Moran Norris is currently leading FB Brit Miller for the job, reports CBSSports.com. Norris is coming off a bad season in 2009, but Miller is less physical than Norris. However, Miller is younger, cheaper, a better receiving threat and one of the team's better players on special teams.
Footballguys view: Miller was a converted linebacker from Illinois, but has been working primarily as a fullback since he came out of college. His versatility (and his price) could make him the choice for the 49ers. |

SF49ers.com reports the San Francisco 49ers have re-signed free agents OT Alex Boone, WR Dobson Collins, TE Joe Jon Finley, FB Brit Miller, DT Khalif Mitchell and WR Dominique Zeigler to their practice squad.

49ers | Announce roster moves Sat Sep 5, 05:31 PM
SF49ers.com reports the San Francisco 49ers have waived OT Jacob Bender, OT Alex Boone, WR Dobson Collins, DE Pannel Egboh, TE Joe Jon Finley, CB Eric Green, OG Kyle Howard, CB Terrail Lambert, FB Brit Miller, DT Khalif Mitchell, LB Jay Moore, TE Bear Pascoe, WR Maurice Price, FB William Rentmeester, LB Justin Roland, RB Kory Sheets, C Matt Spanos, OT Joe Toledo, LB Mark Washington and WR Dominique Zeigler.
Footballguys view: Zeigler was having a great camp and preseason, but it looks like it's back to the practice squad for him. The 49ers decided to keep Jason Hill and Michael Spurlock instead. Sheets was also drawing raves, but the team decided to only keep two true tailbacks in Frank Gore and Glen Coffee. Kory Sheets ran with authority this preseason, and has one of the best stiff arms in the game. He is a prime candidate for the 49ers practice squad as well. |

Panthers | Miller signed Mon Apr 27, 10:52 AM
Steve Reed, of CarolinaGrowl.com, reports the Carolina Panthers have signed undrafted free-agent LB Brit Miller (Illinois).
Footballguys view: Britt Miller is a lot like former Illini LB J Leman. Miller is not the most athletic player, but he plays with aggression and seems to always be around the football. The Panthers could develop him into a nice backup LB and special teams player. |
