The Associated Press reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer was 20-for-24 for 233 yards with five touchdown passes Week 7 against the Chicago Bears.

Our view: Palmer was flawless in the red zone, and he was helped by inspired early running from Cedric Benson in his revenge game.

Bengals | Palmer believes offseason work with Caldwell paying off    Fri Oct 2, 10:43 AM

Joe Kay, of The Associated Press, reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer said he believes the work he did with WR Andre Caldwell during the offseason is starting to pay off in the regular season.

Our view: Andre "Bubba" Caldwell has earned the trust of Palmer, and the chemistry they built during the offseason is paying off on Sundays. Caldwell's role could increase as the season goes on, and he'll have a few more startable fantasy days - especially when the Bengals are in a shootout.

The Associated Press reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer was 20-for-37 for 183 yards with a touchdown pass Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Our view: Palmer's late-game heroics helped the Bengals knock off the defending Super Bowl champions. He was able to find Andre "Bubba" Caldwell in the endzone for the win.

Bengals | Palmer throws three TDs, two INTs Week 2    Sun Sep 20, 07:21 PM

The Associated Press reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer was 15-for-23 for 185 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions during the team's Week 2 game against the Green Bay Packers. Palmer also had a one-yard run for a touchdown in the game.

Our view: Palmer was inconsistent at times, but made the most of his opportunity in the second half after some very questionable decision making in the first half. With Chad Ochocinco back to form and a strong running game, Palmer may be on the verge of breaking out.

The Associated Press reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer was 21-for-33 for 247 yards with two interceptions during the team's Week 1 game.

Our view: Palmer played better than his line suggests. He was victimized by some key drops from Lavernues Coles, and kept the offense moving most of the day despite the low scoring game.

Bengals | Palmer will be ready for Week 1, but pressure is on    Mon Sep 7, 01:45 AM

Joe Reedy, of The Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer (ankle) will be ready for Week 1. Palmer, 29, must prove to fans and critics he is one of the league's elite quarterbacks and try to return the Bengals to the postseason, which they haven't done since 2005. Palmer also has to adjust to new players and new plays. 'The routes are different. It's been exciting. It hasn't been stagnant or boring. I feel like a rookie again because there's always new things to evaluate on tape,' Palmer said.

He he has taken legitimate snaps from center, avoided the rush and moved the way he has needed to prove he is sufficiently recovered from his ankle sprain.

Bengals | Palmer runs some plays in practice    Tue Sep 1, 07:04 PM

Joe Reedy, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports that QB Carson Palmer ran some plays with the starting offense for the first time since August 14, and looked "OK".

Our view: We still think you should trust Palmer as your starting QB as long as you can get him as the 9th or 10th QB off the board in the seventh round or later. Just make sure you back him up with a dependable #2 like Matt Hasselbeck or David Garrard.

CBSSports.com reports Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said QB Carson Palmer (ankle) could play in the team's preseason finale. Palmer is expected to take part in some practice drills Monday, Aug. 31.

Our view: Because he's missed some playing time this preseason, we could see Carson Palmer play for an extended period in the final preseason game. Usually, NFL teams play a majority of their backups in the fourth week of the preseason.

Bengals | Palmer works on rehab field Sunday    Sun Aug 30, 05:26 PM

Updating a previous item, CBSSports.com reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer (ankle) worked on the rehab field during practice Sunday, Aug. 30. Palmer looked fine while jobbing, and he made a few throws with his feet planted on the ground.

Our view: We wouldn't worry about Palmer because of this ankle issue. The risk from Cincinnati's weak offensive line and Palmer's increased chances of injury is already factored into Palmer's modest ADP.

Bengals | Appears C. Palmer will practice Sunday    Sun Aug 30, 03:04 PM

Joe Reedy, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports it appears Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer (ankle) will participate in practice Sunday, Aug. 30.

Our view: Palmer hasn't practiced in 2 weeks since spraining his ankle against the Saints in a preseason game on August 14th. The trainers will decide if he plays in the preseason finale, but the focus remains on getting him ready for the regular season opener against the Broncos.

Bengals | Palmer out for Thursday, may sit rest of preseason    Wed Aug 26, 02:24 PM

James Walker, of ESPN.com, reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer (ankle) will not play in the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 27, and could be held out of the rest of the preseason as a precaution, according to a source. His availability for the final preseason game will depend on how his ankle responds before the game. The Bengals expect Palmer will be ready for Week 1.

Our view: This injury will keep Carson Palmer as a value pick in most every fantasy league. If healthy, Carson Palmer could once again be a top 10 fantasy QB, but you can draft him after the first 10 QBs have gone off the board. The offensive line is a big question mark for the Bengals, so protecting Palmer may be troublesome in 2009.

  Bengals | M. Lewis encouraged by C. Palmer's progress    Tue Aug 25, 11:46 PM

Joe Reedy, of The Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said after practice Tuesday, Aug. 25, that he was encouraged by QB Carson Palmer's (ankle) progress. Lewis said, "I think he's doing well. The way things are going, it looks like he'll be ready to practice again."

Our view: The injury was reported as a high ankle sprain in some outlets, but it seems like it's not going to bother Palmer into the regular season. He's still a fine choice as your QB1 if you are one of the last owners to take a QB.

James Walker, of ESPN.com, reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer (ankle) will not play in the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 20, according to ESPN's Bob Holtzman.

Our view: The team has called this a mild high ankle sprain, which could limit Palmer's mobility when he comes back. High ankle sprains also have a tendency to linger, so keep an eye on Palmer's recovery.

Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com, reports the Cincinnati Bengals may hold out QB Carson Palmer (ankle) of the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 20, as a precaution because of his ankle injury.

Bengals | Palmer : Rookie RB Scott 'dropping jaws'    Fri Aug 7, 10:37 AM

Joe Reedy, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports that Bengals QB Carson Palmer said of RB Bernard Scott, "I like him a lot. I think he's going to be really good. He's going to be a good change of pace with the kind of big bruiser Cedric is but Benard has a lot of speed. ... He's been the star so far of all the rookies. He's made the most plays and dropped the most jaws."

Our view: We have loved Bernard Scott's skills since we saw him at the Texas Vs The Nation game this year. He can be a Jerious Norwood/Leon Washington type for the Bengals, with the upside to do more if Benson falters or gets hurt. Scott is an underrated inside runner, in addition to having great burst, hands, and lateral agility.

Bengals | Team chemistry better than ever    Mon Aug 3, 07:17 PM

James Walker, from ESPN.com, reports the chemistry with this year's Bengals is as good as he's ever seen. Walker has covered Cincinnati or the AFC North in some capacity since 2004, and this is the best Bengals locker room, as a group, that he can remember. In a league built for every team to finish 8-8, good chemistry is one of the few things that separate NFL teams. Walker's early impression is that the usually up-and-down Bengals have a rare chance this season for chemistry not to be an issue.

Our view: This is only good news for a team in dire need of it. The Bengals may not make a playoff run because they play in one of the toughest divisions in football, but there may be a few fantasy stars on their offense starting with QB Carson Palmer. He is trying to bounce back from an injury plagued 2008 season, and even though T.J. Houshmandzadeh is now in Seattle Palmer has plenty of dangerous weapons around him on offense. When healthy Palmer has been one of the best QBs in fantasy football and could easily outperform his current ADP (QB12).

Bengals | Palmer misses practice Sunday    Sun Aug 2, 03:25 PM

James Walker, of ESPN.com, reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer (illness) missed the team's practice Sunday, Aug. 2, because of an illness.

Our view: This is the 2nd straight practice that Palmer has missed, and some of his fantasy owners may be getting nervous. Palmer is expected to bounce back from an elbow problem that plagued him all of last season, but it would be nice to see him in practice. This illness isn't anything major, so Palmer should still be a nice value with high upside in most fantasy leagues.

Bengals | Palmer not participating in evening practice Saturday    Sat Aug 1, 07:30 PM

Bengals | Palmer may workout Saturday night; pitch count will remain    Sat Aug 1, 06:04 PM

Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com, reports Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis indicated following morning workouts Saturday, Aug. 1, that QB Carson Palmer will also work during the evening workouts. However, Palmer will still be on a throw count. Palmer typically sat out of secondary workouts during the offseason. Lewis said the team will continue to be careful about the reps Palmer takes.

Our view: Palmer's upside, especially with all the glowing reports about WR Chris Henry, more than justifies the risk you take getting him in the QB9-12 range in early drafts before these restrictions are lifted.

Bengals | Palmer shows good velocity Friday    Fri Jul 31, 07:18 PM

Joe Reedy, of The Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer (elbow) showed some good velocity with his throws during practice Friday, July 31.

Our view: Palmer seems to be completely over the elbow problems that plagued him last season. Even though he lost T.J. Houshmandzadeh the weapons around him should be able to pick up the slack easily. Palmer is a good bet to outperform his current ADP of QB12.

During OTAs and minicamp, the wide receivers said Palmer's passes had the same old velocity and zip. He is going to be on a pass count during training camp, and will not throw more than 150 passes per day. As the offseason drills went on, Palmer's long passes appeared to be more consistent and crisper.

Bengals | Palmer provided feedback in offensive adjustments    Mon Jul 20, 08:51 PM

Joe Reedy, of The Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer provided plenty of input to offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski on the team's playbook. While most of the changes to the offense have been centered around more emphasis on the running game, Palmer is still expected to air it out with plenty of three-receiver sets.

Our view: The Bengals might want to run the ball more, but they'll need to be in games well into the second half for that to happen.

Bengals | Palmer: My elbow is 100%    Sat Jul 18, 06:19 PM

Nancy Gay, of NFL Fanhouse, reports that Cincinnati QB Carson Palmer told her his throwing elbow is now 100%. "I'm great. I feel great. I'm 100 percent healthy, throwing, lifting, running all that stuff. I'm just thankful I didn't have to go through that (Tommy John surgery). The doctors who said that it would heal were right and it did heal."

Our view: Palmer is likely going to be available after the top eight QBs are taken, which makes him a value pick. If you can weather the storm early, Palmer has an excellent playoff schedule and he doesn't face Baltimore or Pittsburgh after week 10.
