Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald finished with six receptions for 50 yards on 10 targets in the Week 10 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, moving up to second-place on the NFL's all-time receiving yardage list. He has 15,952 yards, passing newly minted Hall of Famer Terrell Owens.

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks) is 100 percent committed to playing in the NFL or CFL, according to Owens' agent. The 44-year-old Owens activated a 10-day clause Saturday, July 14, that forces the Edmonton Eskimos to offer him a contract or release him. 'He just loves the game and wants to get back to playing, whether it's the CFL or NFL,' his agent said.
Footballguys view: It's been a minute since Owens played organized football. He last played in the NFL back in 2010 for the Bengals and he did get a cup of coffee with the Seattle Seahawks for about a month (but never played) in 2012. Owens last suited up for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League in 2011. He's less than a month from being enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame but still thinks he can play. We'll see if the Eskimos share that same belief. |

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks) said he believes he can still contribute to a team at 40 years old but understands he likely will not receive any interest from teams. Owens said he does not understand how players that have off-field problems can get second chances while he does not get a second chance even though he has not had off-field issues. 'You look at some of the stuff guys are doing now, domestic violence, players killing players, just everything,' Owens said. 'You have so many guys with off-the-field problems, drug issues, alcohol problems and they're still given second chances and third chances. They're putting them in rehab and keeping them on the team. I never had those issues. It's disappointing.'
Footballguys view: Go home T.O. - you're drunk. |

Jordan Woy, agent for free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks), said he has talked with several teams about the possibility of Owens signing with a team, but is not sure of Owens will get an opportunity to sign. Woy said Owens is in good shape and believes he can contribute to a team.
Footballguys view: We've heard this story before and nothing came of it. Owens isn't the same player he used to be and we'll only get intrigued when a team actually signs him (or at least works him out). |

Free-agent NFL WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks) visited free-agent WR Chad Johnson (Dolphins) in jail. Owens said Johnson is in good spirits and that seeing him incarcerated was a humbling experience for Owens.

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens was asked on NFL Network show 'NFL AM' whether he's heard from an NFL team since his release from the Seattle Seahawks in training camp last year. 'Nothing as of right now,' he said. 'So I understand the process. Obviously teams are really taking a closer look in evaluating their younger players. Being a free agent, I understand that later in the months as training camp starts, they'll start looking for veterans.'

Updating a previous report, free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks) said he will retire if he does not play in 2013. "If I play this year, that'd be awesome," Owens said. "If I don't play this year, I'm retiring."

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks) is prepared to retire if teams remain uninterested in signing him.
Footballguys view: Once his retirement is official the debate about his Hall of Fame credentials will begin. Owens hasn't played in the NFL since 2010 when he was with the Bengals. He was with the Seahawks last year during training camp but was released after only 20 days with the team. |

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks) said Friday, April 19, that he is looking to make a return to the NFL after not playing in 2012 and he wants to make that return with the Chicago Bears.
Footballguys view: We'd be surprised if Owens got another shot to play in the NFL again. He was picked up by Pete Carroll and the Seahawks last year but only lasted a few weeks in August. |

There is nothing happening between the New England Patriots and free agent WR Terrell Owens (Bengals). Owens would like to return to the NFL.
Footballguys view: Owens is simply working out with Tom Brady at USC this offseason. We doubt he plays another snap in the league but he is trying to work his way back. |

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks) said the fact that the New York Jets are using CB Antonio Cromartie at wide receiver shows that they're desperate, and they need an experienced receiver like him. 'I've read a lot of tweets and everybody's saying that I'm desperate, I'm begging for a job,' Owens said. 'But it's not begging for a job when you know you can still play at a high level, given the opportunity. When you have a defensive back playing offense and running routes, then I think that's more desperate than my actual tweet itself.' According to Owens, teams are showing no interest because there's still a perception that he'd be a distraction in the locker room.

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan didn't rule out the team looking to sign free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks).
Footballguys view: Owens is a longshot but could still make the team. The Jets are desperate and need to shake things up offensively. |

The New York Jets are not expected to sign veteran free-agent WRs Chad Johnson (Dolphins) or Terrell Owens (Seahawks) because they do not want to add a player that could serve as gasoline on the fire for the New York tabloids. The Jets care very much about what the media thinks.

Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said the team is not interested in signing free-agent WR Plaxico Burress (Jets), WR Chad Johnson (Dolphins) or WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks) because none of them fit the team at this point.
Footballguys view: This is a smart move for a rebuilding team. It's better to get youngsters like Juron Criner and Rod Streater valuable early experience than to give an aging vet one more go-round in the NFL. |

As of right now, there is zero interest around the NFL in free-agent WRs Terrell Owens (Seahawks) and Chad Johnson (Dolphins).
Footballguys view: This is what happens when you burn bridges. Neither are the players they used to be, but are still the colossal pains in the ass they've always been. It's not a good combination. We'd be surprised if either is picked up this year. |

The New York Jets are not interested in signing free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Seahawks).
Footballguys view: Owens may be in great shape but we don't see many teams having interest in him at this point of his career. Pete Carroll and the Seahawks gave him a shot and decided to move on after only a couple of weeks. Owens career may be over. |

The Seattle Seahawks have released WR Terrell Owens.
Footballguys view: Owens can still move and run like TO of old, but he couldn't catch the ball with any consistency in preseason action. He might still get a call from someone before or during the season. |

Seattle Seahawks WR Terrell Owens simply has not shown enough this preseason to believe he will make the final roster. Owens caught two passes for 41 yards Friday, Aug. 24, but he didn't fight for one ball thrown to him deep down the sideline. He also dropped another pass on a play that was erased by an unrelated penalty.

Seattle Seahawks WR Terrell Owens will play in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 18. Head coach Pete Carroll said he does not know how long Owens will play.
Footballguys view: Owens has been impressing in camp and it will be interesting to see him with his new team. Owens may be competing with Braylon Edwards for a roster spot in Seattle. |

Seattle Seahawks WR Terrell Owens appears to be gaining a comfort zone in training camp. Owens was sharp in practice Wednesday, Aug. 15, scoring two touchdowns.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said he has been impressed with the progress of veteran WRs Braylon Edwards and Terrell Owens in training camp. 'Braylon Edwards has played great for us in practice, and he did a beautiful job in the game, so he's starting to make an impact,' Carroll said. 'And then we thought Terrell might have a chance to make an impact as well, and we worked him out, and he was phenomenal. He's right in the middle of everything, practicing hard, competing every day.'
Footballguys view: Good news for the Seahawks here. The veteran duo may be battling each other for one roster spot on the team. |

Seattle Seahawks WRs Ben Obomanu and Golden Tate sit atop the team's initial preseason depth chart. WRs Deon Butler and Kris Durham are listed as the second-team receivers, with WRs Braylon Edwards and Charly Martin as the third-teamers. WR Terrell Owens is not listed among the Top Six, and neither are WRs Doug Baldwin (hamstring), Ricardo Lockette (leg) and Sidney Rice (shoulder), who have been dealing with injuries.
Footballguys view: This is meaningless as the depth chart only includes receivers who are ready to play this weekend. |

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said WRs Sidney Rice, Terrell Owens, Doug Baldwin and Ricardo Lockette will not play in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 11.

The Seattle Seahawks violated rules in the collective bargaining agreement by having WR Terrell Owens have pads on in his first on-field practice of training camp Wednesday, Aug. 8. The CBA states players must practice in a helmet and shells in their first two practices in camp and then could be in pads.

The addition of WR Terrell Owens to the Seattle Seahawks could threaten WR Sidney Rice's (concussion, shoulder) playing time. Owens worked as the second-team flanker in practice Wednesday, Aug. 8, which is Rice's position. Putting Owens at flanker is a sign that the Seahawks don't necessarily trust Rice to be healthy.
Footballguys view: Fantasy owners shouldn't trust Rice to stay healthy either. He's talented but oft-injured and may have trouble getting through the year unscathed. Owens has an opportunity to make an impression and likely has a huge chip on his shoulder after sitting out of the NFL last year. |

Seattle Seahawks WR Terrell Owens acknowledged following his first practice Wednesday, Aug. 8, that he needs to shake off some rust. 'I'm a little rusty, but obviously it's about competing and I'm here to compete for the job,' Owens said. He worked with the second-team offense.
Footballguys view: No surprise here. Owens was out of NFL football last year due to a knee injury. It will take some time for him to get back into football shape. |

Seattle Seahawks WR Terrell Owens said he wants to be considered part of the team and not viewed as a center of distraction. Owens called himself a changed man. 'I think a lot of people don't probably expect me to use that word humble,' Owens said, 'but there have been a lot of moments over the last three years ... that have had me face and use that word. I don't want to sit up here and try to emphasis how much I've changed. You'll see that as these days go ... It's more about doing than talking about it.'
Footballguys view: Owens was not a distraction at his last two NFL stops (Buffalo, Cincinnati) and we're not expecting him to be a troublemaker in Seattle. |

Seattle Seahawks WR Terrell Owens was not signed because of injuries to or performance of other receivers, according to general manager John Schneider.

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin thinks the addition of WR Terrell Owens will only help the team's depth at the position. 'Terrell Owens is an unbelievable talent. They brought him in because that's what Pete Carroll believes in is competition,' Baldwin said. 'He's going to come in immediately and compete for a job, and that's what we're all about here.'
Footballguys view: Owens is not a lock to make the final roster and has an even bigger chip on his shoulder after spending last year out of football. If he plays like he did with the Bills or the Bengals he could finish the year as the best WR on the Seahawks roster. He didn't cause problems in his last two stops and we don't expect any trouble now that he's in Seattle. |

Before deciding to sign WR Terrell Owens, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll spoke with Oakland Raiders QB Carson Palmer, who played with Owens in Cincinnati in 2010, about the wide receiver's troubled relationships with quarterbacks in the past. Palmer has a high regard for Owens. 'He loved working with him, loved playing with him. He worked out with him, and knows him really well,' Carroll said. 'It was really pleasing to hear that.'
Footballguys view: Palmer has spent a lot of time around Owens and the boisterous WR has matured a lot over the last few years. Some say this move is disastrous for the Seahawks, but we feel it's a quality football move that upgrades a weak spot on the team. If Owens is focused it could pay off for Seattle. |

Seattle Seahawks WR Terrell Owens, 38, is not a lock to make the final roster. He was brought in to compete for a spot in training camp after not seeing an NFL snap in 19 months. There is no guaranteed money in his contract.
Footballguys view: Owens reportedly still has the speed to be a deep WR and the chip on his shoulder is big after being out of football for a year. If he makes the final roster then he could be an impact player for the Seahawks as their WRs are injury prone and largely unproven. |

The Seattle Seahawks apparently are looking for veteran WR Terrell Owens to help WRs Doug Baldwin, Sidney Rice. Golden Tate and Ricardo Lockette.
Footballguys view: We're not sure Owens is the type of WR the Seahawks want as a mentor. We don't think he'll be a troublemaker and feel he should just focus on football as he tries to make a comeback this year. |

Updating a previous report, the deal for Seattle Seahawks WR Terrell Owens is for one year and $1 million, according to sources.

The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to terms with free-agent wide receiver Terrell Owens (IFL). Terms of the deal are undisclosed.
Footballguys view: Owens was out of the league last year due to a knee injury and now gets a shot to prove he still has what it takes. He will add to a WR corps that lacks top tier talent. Owens was not a troublemaker at his last two stops (Bengals, Bills) and shouldn't be one in Seattle either. |

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Bengals) may not be a good fit with the Seattle Seahawks because of head coach Pete Carroll's preference to work with younger players, according to former player and current analyst Eric Davis. 'Pete Carroll works better with young players,' Davis said. 'He works better in a teaching mode, he works better brining the guys up the chain. I don't think T.O. is going to listen to a lot of what he says. I don't think Pete's method is going to work with him.'
Footballguys view: Owens was not known as a trouble maker with the Bills or the Bengals. His days as a rebel might be over as he just wants a chance to play in the league again. |

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Bengals) is reportedly en route to the Pacific Northwest to meet with the Seattle Seahawks.
Footballguys view: The Seahawks recently added Braylon Edwards and cut Antonio Bryant. They are continuing to look for upgrades at the WR corps and Owens could be an option. He hasn't played since 2010, but has been working out and reports say he's still retained his downfield speed. |

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Bengals) worked out with New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees, Oakland Raiders QB Carson Palmer and free-agent QB Kyle Boller (Raiders) a few weeks ago, and Owens worked out with Seattle Seahawks WR Golden Tate Monday, July 16. Owens also trained with Carolina Panthers QB Jimmy Clausen Monday.
Footballguys view: Owens probably won't get signed during training camp, but if a team suffers a major injury at wide receiver and has championship aspirations, he could get a look. We have little doubt that he can still physically hack it in the NFL. It's just a question of whether a team would be willing to take on the distraction/disruption of adding Owens. |

Although free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Bengals) would like to return to the Dallas Cowboys, the team does not have a need for him at this point.
Footballguys view: We'd be surprised if Owens played in the NFL again. He's burned plenty of bridges during his time in the pros and is not the same player he used to be. |

The Cleveland Browns are unlikely to have much of an interest, if any, in veteran free-agent WRs Plaxico Burress, Braylon Edwards or Terrell Owens. If anything, the team might pick up a veteran who is a good role model to mentor the younger receivers.

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said he considers free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Bengals) a friend; however, he does not have a spot for him on his roster. 'First of all, he really can reach out to me at any time, because I consider him a friend,' Jones said. 'We would feel good if he reached out. I think that he really, without having first-hand knowledge of what kind of physical condition he is in, I know he has the right stuff and could help someone.' Jones, however, said that team won't be the Cowboys. 'Again, we are not planning on doing anything at receiver,' Jones said.
Footballguys view: Expect to see 31 other stories like this one as Owens embarks on his last attempt to hang around the NFL. |

The Dallas Cowboys likely will not pursue free-agent WRs Terrell Owens (Bengals) or Chad Ochocinco (Patriots) this offseason. The team has watched tape on both receivers and was not impressed with what they saw.
Footballguys view: Both players are not what they used to be. Owens already burned bridges in Dallas, and Ochocinco couldn't produce in the Patriots high powered passing game with Tom Brady throwing him the ball. |

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Bengals) left long-time high-powered agent, Drew Rosenhaus and hired Jordan Woy in hopes of pursuing a pro football career. 'I am making changes in my life so I can continue my career as a professional football player,' Owens said. 'I have hired Jordan Woy as my new agent. It was important for me to hire someone who believes in my ability to help an NFL team and believes in me as a person.'
Footballguys view: It's a last ditch attempt to get back into the league. Woy was a good choice because he and his team have a good reputation around the NFL. |

The Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League released WR Terrell Owens Tuesday, May 29, because he violated his contract with the team. Owens reportedly refused to play in two upcoming home games and was a no-show for an appearance at a children's hospital.
Footballguys view: Some guys just never learn. |

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Bengals) said during a radio interview that he wants to play for the San Francisco 49ers or Oakland Raiders. The Raiders in particular, according to Owens, would be a good fit. 'There's really only one team left in the Bay Area who I haven't played for that really at this point in time is a viable option and that's the Oakland Raiders,' Owens said. 'Given the opportunity if that's on their radar for me to come in and help them win some ball games and ultimately help them try to win a championship then I'll take that challenge on. I definitely feel I have a lot of football left in me. I think Carson knows that.'
Footballguys view: The Raiders already have a jam packed WR corps with emerging young talents like Jacoby Ford, Denarius Moore, and rookie Juron Criner. The 49ers don't have room for Owens either after adding Randy Moss and Mario Manningham through free agency, and drafting A.J. Jenkins in the first-round of the draft. |

Free-agent WR Terrell Owens (Bengals) took part in offseason workouts with Oakland Raiders QB Carson Palmer, WR Darrius Heyward-Bey, TE David Ausberry and WR Eddie McGee in Southern California. Palmer said Owens' presence was good for the young receivers. 'It was great for them,' Palmer said of his young teammates. 'It was our fourth or fifth day in a row of throwing and they were tired and sore and for them to see another guy, that's not on a team, that's grinding ... I think it was a little bit of an eye-opener for them.' Palmer added he has no issues with Owens, despite rumors of such from their one season together with the Cincinnati Bengals. However, Palmer is not sure the team needs a veteran presence in the receiving corps.
Footballguys view: The Raiders have a talented group of young WRs and may not have any room for Owens. We like players like WR Denarious Moore and rookie Juron Criner to stand out in 2012. |
