The Denver Broncos waived LB Elliot Coffey, WR Mark Dell, WR Cameron Kenney, TE Anthony Miller, DE Cyril Obiozor, RB Xavier Omon, S Anthony Perkins, T Mike Remmers, CB Ramzee Robinson, FB Austin Sylvester, and G Austin Wuebbels Monday, Aug. 27. The team also announced DE Jason Hunter (undisclosed) was placed on Injured Reserve and S Lonie Paxton was released.
| Footballguys view: Omon was a bit of a surprise here given how he performed in camp and earlier in the preseason. He's bounced around the league quite a bit since 2008 and may be done playing football in the NFL. |

| Footballguys view: Omon is a strong inside runner who can be a workhorse if need be. He's not quick or elusive, but his initial burst is fast enough. Omon has bounced around the league and is unlikely to make the active roster unless injuries hit in front of him on the depth chart. |

San Francisco 49ers Xavier Omon carried 14 times for 62 yards and a touchdown in the preseason win Saturday, Aug. 20, against the Oakland Raiders. He is still seen as a longshot for a roster spot.

| Footballguys view: X-Man has now been bounced from two different teams. It looks like Omon just doesn't have the quickness to hang in the NFL. He is very instinctive, and a natural RB (4x 1,500 rusher in college) but Omon doesn't have the burst to make the most out of the rushing lanes he gets in the NFL. He may get a look in another camp. |

Eric Williams, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports the Seattle Seahawks have re-signed free agents WR Patrick Carter, LB Anthony Heygood, WR Mike X. Jones, RB Xavier Omon, TE Jason Pociask and CB DeAngelo Willingham to future contracts.
| Footballguys view: Xavier Omon is the player to watch here. When he was with the Bills last season it looked like he didn't have the burst to hang in the NFL. However, this season in limited playing time he seemed to be more aggressive and effective as a runner. The 4-time 1,500 yard rusher from Northwest Missouri State now finds himself on a team that needs a bigger back on the roster. Both Julius Jones and Justin Forsett are smaller backs that could wear down with increased playing time. If Omon can impress the coaching staff he could be the Seahawks short-yardage/power back in 2010. |

Last season Omon didn't seem to have the burst or decisiveness to stick around in the NFL. This season we've seen a more confident Omon, and the results on the field are night and day from what we saw in 2008. Omon does have a nose for the endzone, and we could see him get some goalline carries. |

Chris Brown, of BuffaloBills.com, reports Buffalo Bills head coach Dick Jauron said the team didn't make any easy moves when it came to cutting players at the deadline. In regards to running back depth, he noted he wishes the team was five-deep at running back and even said he wishes they could take seven players into a game. By releasing RB Dominic Rhodes, the Bills are down to tailbacks Fred Jackson and Xavier Omon for the first three games while Marshawn Lynch serves his suspension. 'We wish Dominic the best. He's a good player,' Jauron said of his former back.

Lindsay Carucci, of BuffaloBills.com, reports Buffalo Bills RB Xavier Omon had a game-high 11 carries for 36 yards in the team's preseason opener Sunday, Aug. 9. "I thought Xavier played well," Bills head coach Jauron said. "Xavier to me ran like he's been running all year, in our OTAs and in our (training-camp practices). He ran well, he found the holes, he stayed low, he showed power, he moved some people, made some people miss. I was really pleased with Xavier Omon."
