Giants | Kevin Ogletree cut    Fri May 8, 02:31 AM

The New York Giants cut WR Kevin Ogletree on Thursday, May 7.

Footballguys view: Ogletree just didn't fit on a team with a jam-packed wide receiver corps. The Giants have wide receiver talent falling out of their pockets, and Ogletree was the odd man out. There might be some team interested in adding him as a camp body.

Giants | Kevin Ogletree could have big role    Wed Apr 15, 11:33 PM

New York Giants WR Kevin Ogletree has experience working in the slot, and he might be used in three-receiver sets if WR Victor Cruz (knee) is not ready for the beginning of the regular season. WRs Dwayne Harris and Preston Parker could also be in the mix.

Footballguys view: Ogletree has decent size but we question his run-after-the-catch ability and willingness to get open over the middle of the field. The Giants are hoping that Cruz can be back at the start of the season, but he could be put on the PUP list to begin the year.

Giants | Rueben Randle benched    Sun Dec 14, 09:32 PM

New York Giants WR Rueben Randle was benched for at least the first quarter of the Week 15 game against the Washington Redskins, and it might have been longer had WR Kevin Ogletree (head) not suffered a head injury.

Footballguys view: The headline should read; Rueben Randle benched (AGAIN). We've seen this before with Randle this season. He's not a fantasy factor for championship fantasy games in Week 16, and Randle has little dynasty value.

Giants | Signing Kevin Ogletree    Tue Oct 14, 07:17 PM

The New York Giants are signing free-agent WR Kevin Ogletree (Lions) Tuesday, Oct. 14, according to a source.

Footballguys view: There's not a lot of fantasy value here with Ogletree. He opened the 2012 season with an 8-catch, 114 yards, two-touchdown performance with the Cowboys. Since then, he hasn't done much. Ogletree caught only 21 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns split between stops in Tampa and Detroit last year.

Lions | Kevin Ogletree sees more first-team reps    Wed Jul 30, 10:21 PM

Detroit Lions WR Kevin Ogletree was getting extra work with the first-team offense in practice Wednesday, July 30, working primarily out of the slot.

Footballguys view: Ogletree is competing to be the team's WR3 behind Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate. Even if he wins the job over guys like Jeremy Ross or Ryan Broyles, Ogletree will have little fantasy value in Detroit. The Lions use their backs a lot as receivers out of the backfield, and we should also see a greater emphasis on getting rookie tight end Eric Ebron involved in the offense.

Detroit Lions WR Kevin Ogletree has been spent time on the top unit each of the first two days of training camp, working as the No. 3 receiver. He is battling WRs Ryan Broyles, Kris Durham, Corey Fuller and Jeremy Ross, among others, for the No. 3 job behind starting WRs Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate.   Lions | OTA participant update    Thu Jun 12, 04:41 PM

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate (undisclosed), RB Joique Bell (knee), RB Mikel Leshoure (undisclosed), WR Kevin Ogletree (undisclosed), DE Ziggy Ansah (shoulder) and OG Rob Sims (undisclosed) were present, but did not participate in organized team activities Thursday, June 12. WR T.J. Jones (undisclosed), LB Stephen Tulloch (undisclosed) and CB Chris Houston (toe) were absent from Lions' OTAs.

Footballguys view: A lot of guys getting some rest in, but nothing to worry about for the most part. Bell is on pace to be at training camp, and Tate will be there for sure. Ansah is on track for Week 1, as will Sims. Houston may miss some of training camp, but is expected for the first week as well.

Buccaneers | Two cut, one elevated    Tue Oct 1, 09:11 AM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released WR Kevin Ogletree and S Ahmad Black. WR Chris Owusu was elevated from the practice squad.

Buccaneers | Kevin Ogletree cut    Tue Oct 1, 09:08 AM

Buccaneers | Kevin Ogletree, Tiquan Underwood ahead of Jordan Norwood    Wed Aug 28, 08:26 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Kevin Ogletree will open the season as the No. 3 wide receiver, and Tiquan Underwood will be No. 4. Both are considered ahead of newly acquired Jordan Norwood on the depth chart.

Footballguys view: Norwood exclusively plays as a slot receiver and will compete for a roster spot late in camp. He could help as a return man but WR Eric Page seems to have that position wrapped up.

Buccaneers | Kevin Ogletree the favorite for third receiver    Tue Aug 13, 06:26 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Kevin Ogletree appears to be the favorite for the third wide receiver job over WRs Tiquan Underwood and Chris Owusu. Underwood and Owusu have had strong showings as well, though, so they could see playing time.

Footballguys view: Ogletree has the experience edge and has been making noteworthy plays in practice. We're not expecting much fantasy value from Ogletree this year if he does win the WR3 job.

Buccaneers | Kevin Ogletree update    Mon Aug 12, 11:40 AM

Updating an earlier report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Kevin Ogletree (ankle) tweaked his ankle when he was tangled up with a defender Monday, Aug. 12.

Footballguys view: No word on the severity of the injury but a 'tweak' sounds like a minor injury. Ogletree is competing for the WR3 spot behind Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams. Second-year speedster Chris Owusu was drawn more praise, but he came out of the preseason opener banged up.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Brian Leonard and WR Kevin Ogletree shined for the team in the first preseason game. Leonard showed good instincts in picking up blitzes. Ogletree led the team in receptions and yards.

Buccaneers | Chris Owusu turning heads    Fri Aug 2, 02:11 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Owusu showed consistency so far during training camp, impressing the coach staff and fellow players. 'He's done a good job so far,' head coach Greg Schiano said. 'Now, it's only been a few practices, but you can only evaluate people on what they do and so far he's done a good job.' Owusu is locked in a battle with WRs Kevin Ogletree and Tiquan Underwood for the third receiver job.

Footballguys view: Owusu is tough with great straight-line speed. He fell out of the draft because of his multiple concussion history, but he could be a name to stash away if he wins the #3 job. The Bucs have a good downfield passing offense, and Owusu would be in line to start if either of Mike Williams or Vincent Jackson were to go down.

Buccaneers | Team high on Kevin Ogletree    Tue Jun 11, 01:11 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Kevin Ogletree has to beat out WRs Tiquan Underwood, David Douglas, Chris Owusu and Eric Page to win the third wide receiver position, but the Bucs are very high on Ogletree, according to The Tampa Tribune's Roy Cummings.

Footballguys view: Ogletree failed to play up to his potential with the Cowboys and now gets a fresh start with the Bucs. Underwood is a staff favorite and may not get beat out for the team's WR3 spot.

Buccaneers | Several in mix for No. 3 WR job    Sun May 19, 04:10 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WRs Tiquan Underwood, Kevin Ogletree, Steve E. Smith and Chris Owusu are expected to be candidates for the No. 3 wide receiver job.

Footballguys view: Underwood may be the frontrunner in this competition. He's worked with head coach Greg Schiano since their days together at Rutgers. Owusu may be the sleeper player here. If he can stay healthy Owusu has a nice size/speed combination and arguably the highest upside of any of these players.

Buccaneers | Two expected to compete for No. 3 WR job    Fri Mar 29, 02:46 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WRs Tiquan Underwood and Kevin Ogletree are expected to compete for the No. 3 wide receiver job during training camp.

Buccaneers | Sign Kevin Ogletree     Thu Mar 14, 04:54 PM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed WR Kevin Ogletree (Cowboys) Thursday, Mar. 14.

Cowboys | Kevin Ogletree might not return    Sun Mar 3, 11:12 PM

Impending free-agent WR Kevin Ogletree (Cowboys) might not return to the Dallas Cowboys. As the season progressed, Ogletree's playing time dwindled, and he might be on the move in free agency.

Footballguys view: Ogletree hasn't fully developed and was outplayed by other WRs last year. We're excited about the prospects of guys like Dwayne Harris in 2013.

Cowboys | Kevin Ogletree not expected to return    Mon Feb 4, 01:39 PM

The Dallas Cowboys are not expected to re-sign impending free-agent WR Kevin Ogletree this offseason.

Footballguys view: Ogletree has never developed like some had hoped when he first came into the pros. The Cowboys have a deep WR corps and won't miss a beat without Ogletree. Guys like Cole Beasley, Andre Holmes, Danny Coale, and Tim Benford will compete for more playing time in camp.
