Broncos | Denver could target Ted Ginn    Mon Jan 30, 05:13 PM

Carolina Panthers impending free-agent WR Ted Ginn Jr. could be eyed by the Denver Broncos this offseason in an effort to improve their return game, in the opinion of The Denver Post's Cameron Wolfe. CB Kalif Raymond is expected to be a key competitor for the return position, too, with impending free-agent WR Jordan Norwood hitting free agency.

Footballguys view: Ginn's fantasy value would take a hit in Denver with their quarterback situation, but he could be a huge help to a team that had trouble generating offense by giving them better field position through the return game.

The Denver Broncos have declared QB Austin Davis, DB Lorenzo Doss, LS Casey Kreiter, LB Brandon M. Marshall, OG Connor McGovern, WR Jordan Norwood, OT Billy Turner inactive for Week 14.

Broncos | Kalif Raymond to return punts    Sat Dec 3, 09:49 AM

Denver Broncos WR Kalif Raymond will be the team's punt returner for Week 13's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. WR Jordan Norwood had served in that capacity but muffed two punts in Week 12's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Footballguys view: The rookie from Holy Cross is super fast and super quick. It will be interesting to see if he can give the return game a boost for the Broncos. Head coach Gary Kubiak said Norwood will still be active versus Jacksonville despite the demotion.

Broncos | Several WRs get their chance to shine    Wed Jun 8, 11:27 PM

Denver Broncos WRs Bennie Fowler, Cody Latimer, Jordan Norwood and Jordan Taylor each had their chance to make an impression Wednesday, June 8, as they bid to become the third wide receiver behind veteran WRs Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas. Sanders and Thomas were rested, opening up first-team reps.

Footballguys view: We've loved Latimer on paper for two years but he just hasn't shown enough to make us feel good about him, despite having a solid outing. Mason reported that Taylor looked pretty good, but it sounds as if we have no real clear indication of what will shake out here. There's also a real chance that the No.3 receiver might not be a productive receiver in this offense anyway. Watch this, but don't expect much value from this battle.

Broncos | Jordan Norwood could return    Mon Mar 21, 08:24 PM

The Denver Broncos are interested in re-signing WR Jordan Norwood, according to general manager John Elway. Norwood visited with the New York Jets and Detroit Lions last week, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are also interested.

Footballguys view: Norwood is an unrestricted free agent, but he could easily return to the Broncos. He gives them depth at the position, and Norwood can help them as a return man.

Lions | Jordan Norwood visits    Fri Mar 18, 05:12 PM

Free-agent WR Jordan Norwood (Broncos) met with the Detroit Lions Friday, March 18, but did not reach an agreement during the visit. He is scheduled to meet with an undisclosed team Monday, March 21.

Footballguys view: Norwood has met with the Lions and the Jets. He's a good slot receiver who can snare passes consistently over the middle. Norwood could also contribute as a return man.

Broncos | Denver TEs not cutting it    Fri Oct 23, 07:51 PM

Denver Broncos TEs Owen Daniels and Virgil Green have combined for just 17 catches on 34 targets for 113 yards and two touchdowns this year. At this time last year, TE Julius Thomas was targeted 36 times for 28 catches, 304 yards and nine touchdowns. Daniels has always done well in a similar offense but is averaging only 6.1 yards per catch, which is four yards fewer than his career low. If Daniels doesn't improve, the Broncos may be forced to look for a trade for a player like San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis, St. Louis Rams TE Jared Cook or Chicago Bears TE Martellus Bennett. WR Jordan Norwood is improving in the slot role, but QB Peyton Manning doesn't fully trust him yet. Norwood hasn't been targeted more than three times since Week 2.

Footballguys view: It's odd that in a Gary Kubiak system we're not seeing better play from the tight ends. They rank 30th in the NFL in receiving yardage gained by tight ends after six weeks. It's not necessarily the tight ends, but it's the lack of play-action passing and misdirection in the offense.

Broncos | Jordan Norwood the No. 3 WR    Wed Sep 23, 02:31 PM

Denver Broncos WR Jordan Norwood has played 98 snaps on offense (65.3%) through the first two weeks of the season and is expected to continue as the team's No. 3 receiver in the near future. WRs Andre Caldwell (17% of snaps) and Cody Latimer (6%) have suffered as a result.

Footballguys view: Norwood is working as the slot receiver. This is a different plan than what was in place during the preseason where the talk was that Latimer would be on the outside and Emmanuel Sanders would man in the slot in certain formations. Norwood doesn't have a lot of fantasy value as the team is primarily leaning on Sanders and Demaryius Thomas.

Broncos | Cody Latimer an afterthought    Fri Sep 18, 01:52 PM

Denver Broncos WR Cody Latimer has been an afterthought in the offense in the first two weeks and has fallen behind slot WR Jordan Norwood on the depth chart.

Footballguys view: Latimer has been inconsistent when given an opportunity, and with the Broncos going back to more of a Peyton Manning, he is going to continue to have trouble getting on the field because he doesn't seem to have Manning's trust. He's not worth a roster spot in typical redraft leagues right now.

Broncos | Jordan Norwood making comeback    Mon Jul 20, 10:18 PM

Denver Broncos WR Jordan Norwood (knee) appears to be completely healed from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered last summer. He did well in organized team activities (OTAs), and was running crisp routes. He is in the mix to serve on punt-return duties.

Footballguys view: Norwood was on track to make the team last year as a reserve receiver and as a return man. He seemed to be back near full strength during offseason workouts, and his play could push a guy like Andre Cadlwell off the roster.

Broncos | Isaiah Burse to return punts?    Sun Aug 24, 05:18 AM

Denver Broncos WR Isaiah Burse may get first crack at the punt return job because of an injury suffered by WR Jordan Norwood (knee).

Footballguys view: Burse was the talk of minicamp at the return position, but he was outplayed in training camp by Norwood. With the season-ending knee injury to Norwood, Burse has another shot to make the final roster as the sixth receiver and primary return man.

Broncos | Jordan Norwood suffers torn ACL    Wed Aug 20, 04:44 PM

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos WR Jordan Norwood (knee) suffered a torn acute cruciate ligament in practice Wednesday, Aug. 20.

Broncos | Jordan Norwood leaves practice    Wed Aug 20, 01:46 PM

Denver Broncos WR Jordan Norwood (undisclosed) left practice early Wednesday, Aug. 20, after suffering an undisclosed injury.

Footballguys view: Norwood had been getting some play with the starters with Emmanuel Sanders banged up, so this is something to watch, if only because any competent receiver can produce with Peyton Manning. We need to monitor the names of all of the WRs on the roster.

Broncos | Jordan Norwood praised    Sat Aug 16, 01:35 PM

Denver Broncos WR Jordan Norwood was the surprise of training camp, according to WR Wes Welker. 'He's done a great job of picking up concepts, and he's got some real ability,' Welker added. Offensive coordinator Adam Gase said Norwood is very smart as far as what the defense is trying to do.

Footballguys view: Norwood is out of practice squad eligibility. He needs to make the final roster if he wants to stay in Denver. He's currently sixth on the depth chart with the Broncos, and he could help as a return man as well.

Broncos | Wes Welker tops depth chart as punt returner    Thu Aug 7, 02:23 PM

Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker is at the top of the depth chart as the team's punt returner ahead of WR Jordan Norwood and WR Isaiah Burse.

Footballguys view: The Broncos will take any edge they can get to improve field position in their quest to return to the Super Bowl. Of course, given his concussion history, perhaps this is a poor idea and it may not last long. Right now Welker is considered a low-end WR2 or a high-end WR3.

Buccaneers | Kevin Ogletree, Tiquan Underwood ahead of Jordan Norwood    Wed Aug 28, 08:26 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Kevin Ogletree will open the season as the No. 3 wide receiver, and Tiquan Underwood will be No. 4. Both are considered ahead of newly acquired Jordan Norwood on the depth chart.

Footballguys view: Norwood exclusively plays as a slot receiver and will compete for a roster spot late in camp. He could help as a return man but WR Eric Page seems to have that position wrapped up.

Buccaneers | Jordan Norwood signed    Wed Aug 28, 02:53 PM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed free-agent WR Jordan Norwood (Browns). Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The team also released DE Aaron Morgan.
