Jaguars | Louis Nix signs future deal Wed Jan 4, 09:43 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars DT Louis Nix was signed to a future contract Wednesday, Jan. 4.
Footballguys view: A third-round pick for the Texans in 2014, Nix has spent most of 2016 on the Jaguars practice squad. At 6'2" 331 pounds, Nix can clog up the middle but he needs to stay healthy and impress in camp next year if he wants to make the final roster and start playing up to his potential. |

Texans | Looking to Vince Wilfork as mentor Thu Mar 26, 01:11 AM
One reason the Houston Texans signed veteran NT Vince Wilfork was to have him become a positive influence on NT Louis Nix, a third-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft who spent his first year on the reserve/injured list.
Footballguys view: Nix has a lot of potential and Wilfork might help him with the transition, but there is certainly a good chance the veteran is also there to help out on the field if Nix struggles. |

The Houston Texans have declared RB Arian Foster, WR DeVier Posey, LB Jadeveon Clowney, OT Jeff Adams, DL Louis Nix, SS Shiloh Keo, QB Tom Savage inactive for Week 3.
Footballguys view: Alfred Blue gets the start, but this will be a committee approach in the Texans backfield today. Blue is a boom/bust flex play. Jonathan Grimes could also impress and get more work, and Ronnie Brown is the stalwart veteran the team could turn to in passing situations and if the youngsters let them down. |

NFL | Louis Nix enters draft Fri Jan 10, 09:37 PM
Notre Dame DT Louis Nix III has announced he will leave school early, entering the 2014 NFL Draft.
Footballguys view: Nix could be the top DT off the board in the 2014 NFL draft. For a big man, he has nimble feet and can move well laterally. He can bull rush, rip or swim his way to the quarterback or ball carrier. Nix has a tenacious motor and will chase down plays that go away from him. Medical checks at the Scouting Combine will determine his fate. Nix is expected to have offseason knee surgery. |
