Cowboys | 19 cut Sat Aug 30, 05:43 PM
The Dallas Cowboys released RB D.J. Adams, OT Josh Aladenoye, DE Kenneth Boatright, DT Dartwan Bush, WR LaRon Byrd, OG Stephen Goodin, CB Terrance Mitchell, WR Jamar Newsome, C Ronald Patrick, DE Caesar Rayford, LB Dontavis Sapp, LB Keith Smith, SS Ryan Smith, LB William Smith, RB Phillip Tanner, TE Asa Watson, RB Ryan Williams, LB Orie Lemon and DT Zach Minter.
Footballguys view: Byrd was an intriguing talent to keep tabs on in super deep dynasty leagues. He has a size/speed combination that can create mismatch problems. We'll see if he can stick around on the practice squad. |

Chiefs | WRs not very productive Mon Dec 17, 06:55 PM
Kansas City Chiefs wideouts were not very productive in a Week 15 shutout against the Oakland Raiders. WR Dexter McCluster had a career-high seven catches for only 59 yards. WRs Jamar Newsome and Devon Wylie caught just one pass with the most experience starter, WR Steve Breaston inactive because of head coach Romeo Crennel's decision. 'I'm still not sure why I'm not playing,' Breaston said. 'I'm past all that now. It just is what it is. There are other things for this team to worry about.' WR Jonathan Baldwin did not catch a single pass.
Footballguys view: It was a disappointing day for the Chiefs passing game. QB Brady Quinn attempted 32 passes on Sunday, but only threw for 136 yards. We find it incredibly frustrating that RB Jamaal Charles only got nine carries in a game the Chiefs could have won. |

Chiefs | Dexter McCluster leads team in receiving in Week 15 Mon Dec 17, 12:55 AM
Kansas City Chiefs WR Dexter McCluster rolled up seven receptions for a team-best 59 yards in the Week 15 game against the Oakland Raiders. WRs Jamar Newsome and Devon Wylie were the only other wideouts to get onto the stat sheet, and they managed just one catch for six yards each.
Footballguys view: Without WR Dwayne Bowe in the lineup we saw McCluster elevate his game. We're not relying on the Chiefs passing game for fantasy purposes and McCluster is only worth a desperation flex play in week 16. |

The Kansas City Chiefs have signed WR Josh Bellamy, FB Patrick DiMarco, WR Junior Hemingway, DL Jerome Long, OL David Mims, WR Jamar Newsome, OL Lucas Patterson and FS Neiko Thorpe to their practice squad.
Footballguys view: We'd keep an eye on Hemingway in super deep dynasty leagues. He can work the middle of the field on short and underneath routes and has a fearless nature in traffic. |

NFL | Jamar Newsome participates in Pro Day Thu Mar 24, 05:57 PM
Central Florida WR Jamar Newsome measured 6-foot 5/8, 201 pounds at his Pro Day Wednesday, March 23, reports Gil Brandt, of NFL.com. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds and 4.44 seconds and the short shuttle in 4.23 seconds. He measured a 33-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot broad jump.
Footballguys view: Our very own Cecil Lammey watched Newsome up close during the week of practice for the NFLPA Game earlier this year in San Antonio and was somewhat impressed. Newsome showed good route running savvy and the ability to high point passes, catching them with arms fully extended away from his body. However, his effort was inconsistent and he dropped some easy passes. |
