Ravens | Team talking to Neal, Jets also contacted FB    Mon Sep 7, 07:00 PM

Allen Wilson, of the Carroll County Times, reports that FB Lorenzo Neal has been in contact with Baltimore GM Ozzie Newsome, offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, and New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan about playing for their teams this season. "I want to taste that dream one more time," Neal said. "I just want to go to that team that gives me the best chance to get to the Super Bowl. I know the men in Baltimore and John Harbaugh and Ozzie. They know what I can do as far as being a leader with my toughness and blocking."

Footballguys view: A Neal signing after week 1 (as a vested veteran, his whole salary would be guaranteed if he is signed before week 2) would give Le'Ron McClain's value a big boost, as he would be relieved of lead blocking duties. It would also probably give the Ravens running game a boost in general, as Neal is one of the best in the history of the league at his position, while McClain is still a hybird FB/RB, and not the lead blocker Neal is, even at Neal's advanced age.

Raiders | Lawton could be released    Wed Jul 22, 09:37 AM

Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports Oakland Raiders FB Luke Lawton could be in jeopardy of being released if both FB Lorenzo Neal and FB Oren O'Neal (knee) are healthy.

Raiders | Neal projected to win fullback job    Wed Jul 22, 02:15 AM

Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, projects Oakland Raiders FB Lorenzo Neal to win the team's starting fullback duties during training camp.

Footballguys view: Just another reason to convince you to take a chance on Darren McFadden in the third or fourth round in PPR leagues, and to snap up Michael Bush late in all leagues.

Raiders | Neal optimistic better days ahead    Mon Jun 8, 10:40 AM

Monte Poole, of the Oakland Tribune, reports Oakland Raiders FB Lorenzo Neal insists better days lie ahead for the team. The Raiders are 24-72 in the last six seasons.

Footballguys view: 'I can honestly say - and I've been in a lot of places - that this team is doing a lot of the things that good teams I've been on were doing,' Neal said. 'What better place - especially with the odds stacked against you? Everyone is asking, Why? What's up with the Raiders? Why would you go to the Raiders?' Hey, the year before I went to Baltimore, they won five games. Last year, we were in the AFC championship game. Last year, people might have asked: 'Why Baltimore?''

Raiders | Interested in Neal?    Sat May 2, 08:28 AM

David White, of the San Francisco Chronicle, reports free-agent FB Lorenzo Neal (Ravens) is being discussed as a potential addition to the Oakland Raiders, according to a team source.

Footballguys view: Lo' Neal has been one of the best blocking FBs to ever play the game. While not much of a fantasy factor himself, he's blocked for many great backs when they have huge seasons.
