Browns | Three trying out during workouts    Wed Apr 17, 12:30 PM

Free-agent WR Seyi Ajirotutu (Chargers), WR Legedu Naanee (Dolphins) and CB Chris L. Rucker (Colts) are participating in the Cleveland Browns' minicamp this week on a tryout basis.

Footballguys view: The Browns are looking for more depth at the WR position. They could add a street free agent or they could add a WR in the 2013 NFL Draft. This WR class is elite and there are several potential stars to be drafted.

Lions | Work out several WRs    Wed Oct 24, 12:14 PM

The Detroit Lions worked out several wide receivers Tuesday, Oct. 23, and could sign one this week. Free-agent WRs Legedu Naanee (Dolphins), Brian Robiskie (Jaguars) and Deon Butler (Seahawks) were among the receivers that took part in the workout.

Footballguys view: The Lions are in the market for a WR because of the season ending injury to Nate Burleson. Titus Young and rookie Ryan Broyles will compete to take Burleson's spot on the depth chart.

Dolphins | Make roster moves    Tue Oct 2, 03:53 PM

The Miami Dolphins signed WR Jabar Gaffney (Patriots) and released WR Legedu Naanee and DL Andre Fluellen Tuesday, Oct. 2. The team also waived/injured LB Mike Rivera.

Footballguys view: Gaffney was released by both the Redskins and the Patriots earlier this year but we see him as an upgrade over Naanee. Don't rush out and add Gaffney to your lineup as he's the WR3 behind Brian Hartline and Davone Bess.

Dolphins | Legedu Naanee not pressing    Mon Oct 1, 05:57 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Legedu Naanee is not pressing, and said he is focused on doing what is asked of him. 'I'm trying to make the plays that come to me and that one came to me and I didn't finish it right,' Naanee said. 'That's really all I'm concerned with, finishing right, contributing to the team. I'm not focused on anything else.'

Dolphins | Legedu Naanee will either be No. 3 or 4 WR    Tue Sep 4, 08:32 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Legedu Naanee has made the 53-man roster, and he is expected to serve as either the No. 3 or No. 4 wide receiver for head coach Joe Philbin.

Footballguys view: He's not much of a fantasy factor. In fact, we only like Davone Bess as a fantasy option out of all the Dolphins WRs.

Dolphins | Marlon Moore, Legedu Naanee do little    Thu Aug 30, 02:02 AM

Miami Dolphins WRs Marlon Moore and Legedu Naanee got the starts at wide receiver in the preseason finale Wednesday, Aug. 29, against the Dallas Cowboys. Neither did much to distinguish themselves, as they each posted two receptions for 19 yards. Only two receivers, WRs Davone Bess and Brian Hartline, are believed to be locks for the final roster.

Dolphins | Legedu Naanee, Davone Bess listed as starters    Mon Aug 13, 07:07 PM

Miami Dolphins WRs Legedu Naanee and Davone Bess are listed as the starting wide receivers on the team's latest depth chart.

Footballguys view: This isn't exactly Brandon Lloyd and Wes Welker. The Dolphins have a lack of talent and depth at the WR position and could be looking for camp cuts or veteran free agents to add to the mix.

Dolphins | Legedu Naanee sits atop depth chart at WR    Wed Aug 8, 09:38 AM

Dolphins | Brian Hartline on the bubble?     Mon Aug 6, 11:13 AM

Miami Dolphins WR Brian Hartline (calf) could be in jeopardy of earning a roster spot if he does not begin practicing soon. Head coach Joe Philbin is on record as saying he doesn't owe the returning veterans anything but a chance to compete for a roster spot. WRs Chad Johnson and Legedu Naanee were also impressive during the team's weekend scrimmage and could be pushing Hartline for jobs.

Dolphins | Legedu Naanee trying to hold off youngsters    Thu Jul 12, 12:10 AM

Miami Dolphins WR Legedu Naanee looked good in the offseason program, and he has a good change to wind up as one of the team's top four receivers. However, he still needs a strong training camp and preseason, as he tries to hold off WRs Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore, who are believed to be on the roster bubble.

Footballguys view: Naanee is a special teams ace who should be a lock to make the final roster. We're not expecting much production from him as a wideout and his fantasy value is extremely low.

Dolphins | Legedu Naanee performs well at minicamp    Sat Jun 30, 02:03 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Legedu Naanee did well during minicamp earlier this month and impressed his teammates and coaches will his performance. 'We like his size and his ability. He's a good target, whether it be on the outside running some in breaking routes or running slants or cross routes. ... He adjusts pretty well to the football, and he has the ability to block in normal down and distance, he has shown an aptitude for that so he has good overall skill,' head coach Joe Philbin said.

Dolphins | Legedu Naanee signs    Tue Apr 17, 11:24 AM

The Miami Dolphins signed free-agent WR Legedu Naanee (Panthers) to a one-year deal, according to his agent, David Canter. Financial terms weren't given.

Footballguys view: Naanee won't help the team much at WR but will contribute as a special teams ace. The Dolphins need a lot of help at the position after trading away Brandon Marshall, but we don't see Naanee contributing enough to be even a small fantasy factor.

Panthers | Legedu Naanee gets vote of confidence    Tue Oct 4, 09:12 PM

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said he likes what WR Legedu Naanee has brought to the team, and the coach said Naanee has 'played well.' Naanee was targeted 11 times in Week 4 against the Chicago Bears, but he managed just four grabs for 27 yards. Through four games, he has been targeted 25 times, but he has just eight receptions for 75 yards and no scores.

Footballguys view: Rivera must have a different definition of "played well" than the rest of us. Seyi Ajirotutu deserves a shot at playing time. Imagine what David Gettis could be doing as the #2 wide receiver right now.

Panthers | Legedu Naanee staying as starter    Thu Sep 22, 02:35 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Legedu Naanee will continue to be the starter even though WR Brandon LaFell has played well in the first two games.

Footballguys view: LaFell has certainly earned the trust of rookie QB Cam Newton. While in college at LSU LaFell was known as a WR who would drop too many easy passes. LaFell had a problem with body catching passes instead of using his hands. So far this season Newton has been throwing passes to LaFell and he'll catch them with arms extended away from his body. It won't be long before LaFell is in the starting lineup.

Panthers | Legedu Naanee, Kealoha Pilares shine    Thu Aug 11, 12:49 AM

Carolina Panthers WRs Legedu Naanee and Kealoha Pilares both made several nice catches in practice Wednesday, Aug. 10, getting extra time to shine with WR David Gettis (knee) leaving early, and WR Smith Smith (finger) out.

Footballguys view: Everything except the #1 job in the Carolina WR corps is up for grabs, so watching these practice reports and preseason games should give us a good idea of who will get playing time at receiver for the Panthers this year.

Panthers | Legedu Naanee feels comfortable in offense    Tue Aug 9, 12:21 AM

Carolina Panthers WR Legedu Naanee is hoping to capitalize on his knowledge of the team's offensive system and step ahead of the other receivers still trying to learn it. 'With the other receivers not really knowing what's going on yet and me being able to help out with the nuances of the offense, I'm looking to take advantage of that and have a big year. It's exciting,' Naanee said. He said the Panthers' offensive system isn't that different to what he played in with the San Diego Chargers, noting much of it is the same but the terminology has changed a little and there are a few other variations.

Footballguys view: The Panthers really have no established wide receivers after Steve Smith, so Naanee has an opportunity to redeem himself after a disappointing year in San Diego last year. Naanee started the year as the #2 receiver, but was almost irrelevant by the end the season.

Panthers | Legedu Naanee added    Thu Aug 4, 06:11 PM

The Carolina Panthers have reached a contract agreement with free-agent WR Legedu Naanee (Chargers). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Chargers | Legedu Naanee not expected back    Tue Jul 19, 01:42 AM

San Diego Chargers unrestricted free-agent WR Legedu Naanee is not expected to be re-signed by the team when the NFL lockout is over.

Footballguys view: Naanee could look for more opportunity as a wide receiver with another team on the open market. He'll draw interest as a free agent mainly because of his ability on special teams.
