Bears | Tony Moeaki released    Sat Sep 3, 11:42 AM

Chicago Bears TE Tony Moeaki was released Saturday, Sept. 3.

Footballguys view: He's a talented player, but Moeaki has always had the 'injury prone' label. Healthy now, we could see a team like the Steelers show interest in the veteran TE now that he's back on the open market.

Bears | Tony Moeaki posts solid stats    Fri Aug 19, 05:02 PM

Chicago Bears TE Tony Moeaki caught four passes for 28 yards in the preseason game against the New England Patriots Thursday, Aug. 18. He has performed well since the start of training camp.

Footballguys view: Moeaki is set up to be a backup to Zach Miller, who is still recovering from a concussion. He would be a deep sleeper if he hasn't spent so much of his career on the injury report.

Bears | Tony Moeaki pushing for roster spot    Sun Aug 14, 11:11 AM

Chicago Bears TE Tony Moeaki made several nice catches during team drills Saturday, Aug. 13, and is competing for a spot on the 53-man roster. Moeaki has been receiving additional snaps because of injuries to TEs Zach Miller (concussion) and Ben Braunecker (ankle).

Footballguys view: Moeaki has always had talent as a pass-catching TE, but his career has been devastated by injuries. Even in college, Moeaki was a player know to get banged up quite a bit. If healthy, Moeaki has the talent to make plays in the NFL.

Falcons | Tony Moeaki sidelined    Sun Aug 30, 10:16 AM

Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Moeaki (thigh) suffered a thigh injury during the third preseason game Saturday, Aug. 29.

Footballguys view: Moeaki has never been able to stay healthy for long. If there's a surprise hit at tight end in this offense, it'll be Jacob Tamme.

Falcons | Tony Moeaki the answer at TE?    Thu Jun 25, 07:10 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Moeaki will compete with TE Jacob Tamme for the Falcons' starting tight end job during training camp. QB Matt Ryan praised both tight ends for their work in the past, 'They (both) have these unique qualities down in the red zone, and can be featured on third down,' Ryan said. 'I think (they) have a little uniqueness . . .I would say Jacob and Tony more, in the third down and the route-running and finding ways to match them on a linebacker to see if they can run the options and do the stuff on third downs required to get open,' said Ryan. Moeaki has overcome injury troubles and hopes to reestablish himself as the once promising tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Footballguys view: Nah, we're not buying this. Moeaki has a ton of talent, but he also has an injury history that goes back to his days in college. Tamme has more left in the tank than some think, and he should lead the way for the Falcons at tight end. For fantasy purposes, Tamme is more of a TE2/backup.

Falcons | Jacob Tamme may be in lead for TE job    Wed Jun 17, 12:31 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme appears to be the leading candidate for the starting tight end job but is being pushed by TEs Tony Moeaki and Levine Toilolo. Head coach Dan Quinn indicated Toilolo could be used more as a blocker this season.

Footballguys view: Moeaki has talent, but he always seems to be banged up. Toilolo is a captain on the Black Eyed Joe All-Name team, but he's coming off a seriously disappointing 2014 where he stayed in to block mostly. Tamme is a team-first guy, and he's got more left in the tank than some think. No Atlanta tight end is getting selected in 12-team PPR leagues at this time, but keep the veteran Tamme on your waiver-wire speed dial.

Falcons | Tony Moeaki signed    Thu Mar 19, 03:22 PM

Free-agent TE Tony Moeaki (Seahawks) signed with the Atlanta Falcons Thursday, March 19. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Moeaki has had some moments but has largely been unimpressive in part because the last two seasons were injury-riddled. He has potential, but he cannot stay on the field (he had this problem in college too). Can he stay healthy? If he can he might be a very productive fantasy TE2 at least. But injuries make him a shaky TE3 at best. He'll split time with Jacob Tamme in 2015.

Buffalo Bills TE Tony Moeaki is not guaranteed a roster spot entering training camp but should have a good chance to win a spot during camp. He made some good plays during offseason workouts.
