Detroit Lions DB C.J. Gardner-Johnson (pectoral) and DT Alim McNeill (knee) were activated from the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Jan. 6. Also, DL Tyson Alualu and FB Jason Cabinda were elevated from the practice squad.

Gardner-Johnson (pectoral) and DT Benito Jones (illness) fully participated in practice but are listed as questionable. Detroit Lions DL Alim McNeill helped himself this offseason by becoming 'more of a professional, taking things more serious - my eating habits, sleep, all that type of stuff,' per Nolan Bianchi of the Detroit News. According to defensive line coach Todd Wash, the Lions are also going to allow him to show off his athleticism more this season by using him more as a 1- and 3-technique (outside shoulder of center and guard, respectively) and less as a 0-technique (directly over the center).

Detroit Lions third-round draft choice DT Alim McNeill signed a four-year contract with the Lions Thursday, May 13, according to a source. The deal includes a $1,090,312 signing bonus, but other financial terms were not disclosed.

North Carolina State DT Alim McNeill was observed by the Jacksonville Jaguars among other teams during his pro day Monday, April 26. In the opinion of Pro Football Network's Tony Pauline, McNeill is a strong candidate to be selected by the Jaguars at the top of the third round if he is still available.
