ESPN.com reports the Tennessee Titans will open their stadium, LP Field, Wednesday, July 8, and Thursday, July 9, where fans can leave personal messages in a book that will be given to the family of former NFL QB Steve McNair.

ESPN.com reports the nephew of Sahel Kazemi, the woman found shot to death with former NFL QB Steve McNair said Monday, July 6, that Nashville police told him she recently purchased a gun and that police believe they are almost sure she was the shooter. Farzin Abdi says he does not believe Kazemi would have killed McNair and herself. Abdi said Kazemi had no motive to kill McNair. Nashville police didn't immediately have a reaction to Abdi's comments.

The Tennessean reports there will be a public memorial service for former NFL QB Steve McNair Thursday, July 9. Funeral arrangements in Mississippi are being finalized for McNair but are expected to be held Saturday, July 11.

Updating an ongoing story, ESPN.com reports former NFL QB Steve McNair's death was ruled a homicide Sunday, July 5. Nashville (Tenn.) police stopped short of saying it was a murder-suicide committed by Sahel Kazemi, the 20-year-old girlfriend also found dead Saturday, July 4. Police said McNair was shot four times, twice in the head and twice in the chest. Kazemi was found with a single gunshot wound to the head, and the pistol was found under her body. Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron said the two had been in a "dating relationship for past several months." When asked if the death could have been caused by a lover's quarrel, Aaron said, "That's a very important part of the investigation as we work to ultimately classify Miss Kazemi's death."

Updating a previous item, ESPN.com reports a 20-year-old woman, Sahel Kazemi, was also found shot to death Saturday, July 4, along with former NFL QB Steve McNair. Nashville (Tenn.) police said a pistol was found near Kazemi's body and that she had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron said McNair's wife, MeChelle, is "very distraught." Aaron added, "At this juncture, we do not believe she is involved. Nothing has been ruled out, but as far as actively looking for a suspect tonight, the answer would be no."
