Free-agent RB Darren McFadden (Cowboys) announced his retirement from the NFL Tuesday, Nov. 28.
| Footballguys view: McFadden was waived two days ago by the Cowboys and went unclaimed. He's going to go down as a player with a career summary of 'what might have been.' McFadden was the fourth-overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft, but he never quite played up to the hype surrounding him when he came out of Arkansas. He finishes his career with only two 1,000-yard rushing seasons and a career total of 5,420 rushing yards. Even without Ezekiel Elliott (suspended), the Cowboys move on with Alfred Morris and Rod Smith in the backfield. |

Earlier reports indicated the team could move on from Alfred Morris, but that might have changed since word of Elliott's suspension.
