Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is paying extra attention to some running backs on the roster like RBs Tauren Poole, Miguel Maysonet, and Josh D. Harris. Those three are thought to be on the 53-man roster bubble.
| Footballguys view: We like Poole the most here, but he's a longshot to ever make much of an impact as a pro. Poole is not the biggest back, but he's disciplined and can effectively run between the tackles. Maysonet is built low to the ground, and he looks like a poor man's version of Maurice Jones-Drew on the field. |

The New York Jets placed WR Clyde Gates (shoulder) and RB Mike Goodson (knee) on the season-ending Injured Reserve Tuesday, Oct. 15. Gates had 12 catches for 122 yards on the season. The team also signed RB Miguel Maysonet from the practice squad to their active roster.

Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
| Footballguys view: Deep dynasty league owners need to keep an eye on Maysonet and Shepard here. Maysonet is a compact runner who was hyper-productive in college at Stony Brook. He averaged 151.1 rushing yards per game which ranked second in the nation. He didn't just beat up on weak competition as evidenced by his 158 yard performance against Syracuse. He's a violent runner with quickness. Shepard came to LSU as the number one athlete in the nation and initially tried his hand at quarterback. He transitioned to wide receiver and never developed. He's an intriguing deep prospect. |

University of Miami RB Mike James had 28 reps of 225 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine Sunday, Feb. 24. Texas A&M RB Christine Michael and Vanderbilt RB Zac Stacy followed with 27 reps. Louisiana State RB Michael Ford checked in with 25 reps, while Michigan State RB Le'Veon Bell had 24 reps. Boise State RB DJ Harper had 23 reps, while Cincinnati RB George Winn had 22 reps. Nebraska RB Rex Burkhead and Florida State RB Chris Thompson checked in with 21 reps, while Stony Brook RB Miguel Maysonet, Oregon RB Kenjon Barner and Rutgers RB Jawan Jamison posted 20 reps apiece.
