'I tried numerous times to reach him,' Fisher said. 'Tre has made a decision not to communicate with us, not to talk. Not talking to his teammates. Right now we're more concerned about Mason's well-being than we are his football career.'

Los Angeles Rams RB Tre Mason's family is worried about his mental state after the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Dept. was called to his house five times since March 28. During one of those visits, Mason agreed to check into a facility but failed to do so. The last incident was Saturday, July 23, but Mason was not arrested. Mason has not been accused of hurting anyone during the incidents. However, on one occasion, a family member told cops she didn't want Mason to leave the house because he hadn't slept in days, and she was worried 'he will get hurt.'

| Footballguys view: Bad news for the backup here. He was sparingly used as a reserve player behind Todd Gurley in 2015, but Mason proved in 2014 that he could do more if called upon. This arrest could lead to discipline from the league, and the Rams may be prompted to find a different reserve plan at running back. |

| Footballguys view: The Rams need to get this figured out. When Gurley is at full strength, we feel he has superstar upside. However, he's not even a year removed from the knee injury that knocked him out of action at Georgia last year. Gurley played against the Steelers in Week 3, but he finished the game with a mere six carries for nine yards. We'll see if he can continue to get healthier and start to produce at a high level. |

St. Louis Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) is coming along slowly from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, and head coach Jeff Fisher said it's unlikely that Gurley plays in the preseason. Fisher said Gurley already has a grasp of the offense and has praised him for his talent. Fisher expects Gurley and RB Tre Mason to rotate in the regular season.
