Dolphins | Will Davis likely to be nickel CB Tue Aug 20, 10:21 PM
Miami Dolphins CB Will Davis appears to be in line to serve as the team's No. 3 cornerback following the release of CB Richard Marshall. CBs Nolan Carroll, R.J. Stanford and Jamar Taylor are also candidates for the nickel back spot.
Footballguys view: Davis is a talented rookie out of Utah State who has the footwork to change direction with ease. We like his click and close ability as he can break fast on the route when a receiver makes his break. He should work nicely as the team's nickel corner. |

Dolphins | Richard Marshall cut Tue Aug 20, 10:20 PM
The Miami Dolphins cut CB Richard Marshall Tuesday, Aug. 20, despite the fact he was listed as a starting cornerback on their depth chart as recently as Monday, Aug. 19. The team attempted to trade him, but found no suitable offer.
Footballguys view: The Dolphins make a move that frees up an additional $3MM in cap space. Marshall was signed last year to a three-year $16MM deal but was out of place on the outside with Miami. We expect teams like the Browns or Broncos to show interest in the position versatile veteran. |
