Dolphins | Preston Williams competing for spot Wed Jul 10, 01:26 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Preston Williams, an undrafted rookie, will compete with WRs Brice Butler, Isaiah Ford, Trenton Irwin and Reece Horn for the fifth and sixth receiver spots. Williams has been working out with WR Brandon Marshall.
Footballguys view: Williams is a talented player who largely went undrafted due to character concerns. If he keeps his focus on the field, Williams could earn a spot on the 53-man roster...or at the very least a practice squad. During his college career at Colorado State (Tennessee transfer), Williams showed dominance with his 6'4" 200 pound frame. He can win contested catches with his size and does a good job of making difficult catches seem routine. Williams needs polish as a route runner and more attention to detail if he wants to make it big in the pros. We'll monitor him in deep dynasty formats. |

New Orleans Saints WR Brandon Marshall is not expected to play against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Nov. 18, in the opinion of The Times-Picayune's Josh Katzenstein.
Footballguys view: Marshall might not have much left to offer on the field. When he does get out there for the Saints Fantasy GMs aren't expecting much. We'll see if he can prove doubters wrong and show that he's got more left...especially in this high-powered offense. |

Saints | Brandon Marshall agrees with Saints Mon Nov 12, 11:23 AM
Free-agent WR Brandon Marshall (Seahawks) agreed to a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints Monday, Nov. 12. Financial terms weren't disclosed.
Footballguys view: The Saints worked out Marshall last week but they decided to sign Dez Bryant instead. With Bryant (Achilles') done for the year, they still needed help at the wide receiver position. Marshall played in seven games for the Seahawks, catching 11 passes for 136 yards and one touchdown. He'll give the Saints veteran depth behind Michael Thomas and rookie Tre'Quan Smith. |

Saints | New Orleans could sign Brandon Marshall Sat Nov 10, 01:22 AM
The New Orleans Saints could sign free-agent WR Brandon Marshall (Seahawks) if WR Dez Bryant (Achilles') did indeed suffer a torn Achilles' tendon in practice on Friday, Nov. 9, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Footballguys view: Marshall worked out for the Saints on Tuesday, the same day that Bryant did. The Saints signed Bryant because they need more from the wide receivers behind Michael Thomas. Rookie Tre'Quan Smith has flashed some interesting ability but behind him there's little left with Cameron Meredith on Injured Reserve. Marshall could give them veteran depth. He caught 11 passes for 136 yards and one touchdown in seven games for the Seahawks this year. |

Seahawks | Brandon Marshall poised to contribute? Thu Aug 16, 09:14 PM
Seattle Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall looks 'like a player capable of doing big things' for the offense, according to John Boyle of Seahawks.com.
Footballguys view: Marshall has regained some of the form that he lost last year if observers at camp are to be believed. He makes sense as a red zone replacement for Jimmy Graham and gives the wide receiver group an element they lack. His emergence may cost one of a pair of 2017 draft picks - David Moore and Amara Darboh - a roster spot. |

Seahawks | Brandon Marshall a full go Thu Aug 2, 09:29 PM
Seattle Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall (hamstring) participated in team drills Thursday, Aug. 2, for the first time since training camp began. 'I'm still trying to get there in midseason form,' Marshall said. 'I have time, but today felt good and it reminded me that I can play some ball.'
Footballguys view: With Doug Baldwin out, Marshall could be a factor, but he fell off the map even before he was injured last season. We're not excited about much in this offense beyond Baldwin or Russell Wilson, and Marshall is no different. Consider him as no more than a flier. |

Seahawks | Brandon Marshall not a lock to make roster Mon Jul 23, 08:04 PM
Seattle Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall hasn't been given any assurances he will make the final roster, according to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune.
Footballguys view: Marshall's certainly at that point of his career where nothing is guaranteed. After making it through just five games with the Giants last year, Marshall finds himself dangerously close to the end of his pro football career. We'll see if Marshall can show well enough in training camp to earn a depth spot on the 53-man roster. |
Brandon Marshall player page
Seahawks | Brandon Marshall contract incentives Fri Jul 13, 01:16 PM
Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall's can more than double the value of the one-year, $1.015 million contract he signed in May. Marshall can earn up to $350,000 if he catches more than 70 passes, another $350,000 if he tops 800 yards receiving and three and $350,000 more if scores at least seven touchdowns.
Footballguys view: Marshall is by no means a lock for a roster spot, but if he does make the team, he could be the #2 outside receiver. Tyler Lockett is basically a starter and the second most valuable receiver on the team after Doug Baldwin, with 2017 third-rounder Amara Darboh and free agent signing Jaron Brown also having a say in what happens in this receiver corps. |

Seahawks | Brandon Marshall not guaranteed a spot Thu Jun 21, 02:52 AM
Seattle Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall (hamstring, toe) is no lock to make the 53-man roster, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson. This is due to the team's limited financial commitment, which is insurance in case Marshall doesn't heal as well as they hope or if they see more value in retaining a younger option.
Footballguys view: He didn't cost much but Pete Carroll will wring out all the value he can by making him a message for the team, a reminder that every position must be earned. Marshall was hurt last year and becoming less effective prior to that, so his loss would not be significant. |

Seahawks | SEA playing it cautious with Brandon Marshall Sun Jun 17, 08:19 PM
Seattle Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall (hamstring) skipped organized team activities and the minicamp, but coach Pete Carroll indicates the team is fine with this as long as Marshall keeps recovering.
Footballguys view: Marshall made it through five games in 2017 before toe/ankle surgery put him on Injured Reserve and ended his season. It's smart for the Seahawks to take it easy with the seasoned veteran during the offseason. The plan is to have him as a full participant during training camp. |

Seahawks | Brandon Marshall being eased in Sun Jun 3, 09:15 PM
Seattle Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall has been seeing limited reps during OTAs but is expected to gradually increase his activity in the coming weeks.
Footballguys view: Marshall has recovered from the surgeries (toe, ankle) that he had last year. The Seahawks don't need to push him right now as they prepare the team for training camp in August. |

Seahawks | Brandon Marshall had second surgery Thu May 31, 02:42 AM
Seattle Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall indicated that in addition to ankle surgery, he also underwent toe surgery last year to address an injury he suffered back in 2015.
Footballguys view: Marshall has been declining over the last few seasons and he is unlikely to have much of an impact with Seattle this year. We wouldn't have him on a roster as of right now. |

Seahawks | Brandon Marshall officially signs Wed May 30, 02:24 PM
Seattle Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall officially signed his one-year contract worth up to $2 million Wednesday, May 30. FB Marcus X. Martin was waived in a corresponding move.
Footballguys view: Marshall is not even close to the player he used to be, but he could help on a Seahawks team that lacks depth after Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett. At best, Marshall is on track to be a WR5 for fantasy owners in 2018. |

Seahawks | Seattle signing Brandon Marshall Tue May 29, 02:29 PM
Free-agent WR Brandon Marshall (Giants) is signing a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks Tuesday, May 29, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: The Seahawks have a thin WR depth chart behind Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett. Marshall is no lock for the 53-man roster, but if healthy he could contribute as a part-time player. Fantasy owners shouldn't get too excited about his prospects in 2018. Marshall is no longer the player he used to be, and his top-5 season of 2015 is well in the past. If healthy and contributing, we see Marshall as more of a WR5 from a fantasy lens. |

Seahawks | Brandon Marshall visits Seahawks Wed May 9, 02:20 PM
Free-agent WR Brandon Marshall (Giants) is visiting the Seattle Seahawks Wednesday, May 9.
Footballguys view: Released by the Giants earlier this year, Marshall does not have much left in the tank. An ankle injury in Week 5 of 2017 (that required surgery to repair) limited him to just 18 catches for 154 yards in his lone season with the Giants. Seattle is revamping most of their roster, but they still have Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett at the top of the depth chart. If added, it's unclear how Marshall would fit in. |

Giants | Brandon Marshall failed physical Thu Apr 19, 02:46 PM
Updating a previous report, former New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall (ankle) was released because of a failed physical. The move created $5.1 million more in salary cap space.
Footballguys view: As thin on cap space as the Giants are, 5.1 million dollars is no small amount. They'll need that much at least for signing their rookies. It remains to be seen if Marshall will find a new home after an injury shortened season, at his age. |
Brandon Marshall player page
Giants | Brandon Marshall released Thu Apr 19, 02:25 PM
New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall is being released Thursday, April 19, according to a source.
Footballguys view: A long-anticipated move which will save the Giants some cap space. They have very little left, so this should at least make it easier to sign their rookies. It's hard to say what the market will be for Marshall coming off an injury at his age. |

Giants | NY Giants noncommittal on Brandon Marshall Tue Mar 27, 01:20 PM
New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall (ankle) hasn't passed a physical yet and has been working out at the team facility 'trying to get healthy,' according to head coach Pat Shurmur, who added 'we'll have to see' when asked about Marshall's place on the team for the upcoming season.
Footballguys view: Once Marshall is able to pass a physical we expect the Giants to move on. The move would save $5.1 million against the cap. |

Giants | Brandon Marshall a candidate for release? Tue Feb 13, 12:04 PM
New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall (ankle) finished with only 18 catches for 154 yards and played in only five games before he was lost for the season due to an ankle injury which required surgery. Given his limited effectiveness and the fact the Giants could save $5.1 million on the cap, the expectation is the Giants will cut ties with him, according to the New York Post's Paul Schwartz.
Footballguys view: Marshall is expected to be fully healthy from the ankle injury that cost him most of the 2017 season. He's not the player he was in 2016 for the Jets (1,500-plus receiving yards, 14 touchdowns), but Marshall could bring veteran experience for a team in need out there. |

Giants | Brandon Marshall on the mend Fri Dec 29, 10:06 AM
New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall (ankle) has been running and will be free of all restrictions in a couple of weeks. He said he wants to play two more seasons.
