Chiefs | Zach Thomas, Ashley Lelie amongst players released Sat Sep 5, 07:04 PM
The Kansas City Chiefs released CB Jackie Bates, TE Tom Crabtree, DE Dion Gales, DE Robert Greenwood, G Darryl Harris, WR Taurus Johnson, WR Ashley Lelie, DT Derek Lokey, S Bernard Pollard, S Ricky Price, LB Zach Thomas, RB Javarris Williams and WR Rodney Wright.
Footballguys view: The rookie receiver from South Florida, Taurus Johnson, would make for a good developmental player to add to the practice squad. He has good size, and ball tracking ability, but he needs to become a more consistent player. Zach Thomas may be considering retirement now that he's been released. Javarris Williams runs with good power, a low center of gravity, and picks up his feet properly when running through trash at the line of scrimmage. He's not very fast, and lacks a good initial burst, but the Chiefs may like his potential as a short-yardage runner enough to keep him around on the practice squad. |
