Lions | One fielding punts    Fri Nov 2, 11:40 AM

Detroit Lions RB Stefan Logan was fielding punts in practice Friday, Nov. 2. WR Mike Thomas was working solely with the wide receivers.

Footballguys view: Some thought Thomas might be able to return punts as well for the Lions, but right now it seems as though Logan will hang onto the job. The Lions are likely just getting Thomas up to speed as quickly as possible on the offensive side of the ball.

Lions | Stefan Logan won't lose job    Tue Oct 23, 05:16 PM

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said the team hasn't lost faith in RB Stefan Logan as the kickoff returner, even though he muffed two punts in the team's Week 7 loss to the Chicago Bears. 'We're still confident in Stefan,' Schwartz said. 'He's made a lot of plays for us. Just last week he sparked us with the 48-yard return. He's made big plays for us.'

Footballguys view: With the injury to Nate Burleson it means more targets for guys like Titus Young and Ryan Broyles. This means neither will be relied on more in the return game.

Lions | Disappointed with Jahvid Best's progress    Tue Jul 31, 12:50 PM

Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said he's 'a little bit surprised' and 'a little bit disappointed' that RB Jahvid Best (concussion) has not been cleared for contact nine months following his last concussion. Best is symptom-free and has been working out since December. The team isn't in a rush to make a move to fortify the running back corps in case Best can't play. RBs Kevin Smith and Stefan Logan have taken most of the repetitions in training camp so far with RB Mikel Leshoure (hamstring) dealing with a hamstring injury.

Footballguys view: Our Jene Bramel clarified the situation - no one really knows when Best will get cleared to play. He's not worth taking in the first 10 rounds right now. Both Mikel Leshoure and Kevin Smith are moving up our draft boards.

Lions | Stefan Logan working at RB    Sat Jul 28, 12:52 AM

Detroit Lions WR Stefan Logan has been working as a backup running back during the early days of training camp.

Footballguys view: Logan can play as a RB or a WR because of his quickness and run after the catch ability. Head coach Jim Schwartz said he expects Logan to receive plenty of reps at that position due to the uncertain health of RB Jahvid Best (concussions).

Lions | Titus Young could be return specialist     Mon Jul 16, 08:43 AM

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young is looking to challenge WR Stefan Logan for the team's return specialist role in training camp.

Footballguys view: Young certainly has the ability because of his quickness and elusiveness in the open field. However, as he continues to emerge as a weapon in the passing game the team could decide to limit his duties on special teams.

Lions | Several RBs competing for roster spot    Mon Jun 25, 06:24 PM

Detroit Lions RB Joique Bell, Stephfon Green and Keiland Williams and FB James Bryant will compete for the No. 4 running back spot in the roster. WR Stefan Logan could also be a candidate for that spot since the team has several wide receivers that are expected to make the team.

Footballguys view: We like Bell or Williams to win the RB4 job in Detroit. Bell is an instinctive runner who is effective between the tackles, and has the size to run through arm tackles. Williams is also an inside runner but has a few more moves and better burst in the open field.

Lions | Stefan Logan hopes for bigger role on offense    Sat Jun 2, 01:47 PM

Detroit Lions WR Stefan Logan said he would like to receive a bigger role as a running back and wide receiver in the offense since his return duties have decreased with the kickoff rules.

Footballguys view: Logan is a versatile weapon who can help out as a runner, receiver, or return man. The Lions have an incredibly high powered offense but we don't see them carving out a much bigger role for Logan in 2012.

Lions | Stefan Logan may see work    Thu Oct 20, 03:25 PM

Detroit Lions WR Stefan Logan may see some work at tailback in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions with RB Jahvid Best (concussion) suffering from a concussion. RBs Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams will also see increased action. 'We've considered that,' offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said. 'We use him some (there), and did last year. He's definitely going to be in the mix. I don't know how much he'll get, but I can see him getting a few cracks at it.' Logan has three carries for seven yards this year and had 15 for 95 yards last year.

Lions | Stefan Logan willing to accept any role in offense    Sun Jun 19, 11:13 AM

Detroit Lions WR Stefan Logan said he is able to play wide receiver and running back but will accept whatever role the team wants to give him in the offense.

Footballguys view: Logan can play either position, but won't see much time on offense. He'll make the roster based on his special teams ability as a return man.

Lions | Stefan Logan likely will be No. 5 WR    Fri Jun 10, 05:44 PM

Detroit Lions WR Stefan Logan likely will be the team's No. 5 wide receiver this season because he is a valuable kick returner and does not cost much.

Detroit Lions WR Stefan Logan saw time with the running backs during practice Wednesday, Sept 29, because of injuries to other Lions running backs, reports Dave Birkett, of the Detroit Free Press. Logan said he is comfortable at running back but will continue to attend wide receiver meetings.

Footballguys view: Logan has big play ability as a runner, receiver, and return specialist. We're not rushing to plug him into our starting lineups if Jahvid Best can't play this week, but we're certainly interested to see how the Lions use him.

Lions | Could Nate Burleson miss two to three weeks?    Tue Sep 21, 12:02 PM

Detroit Lions WR Nate Burleson (ankle) has not ruled himself out the team's Week 3 game, but according to RB Stefan Logan, Burleson could miss up to three weeks with a high ankle sprain, according to Dave Birkett, of the Detroit Free Press. 'I don't know what they're going to put in the game plan this week,' Logan said. 'We got one guy that went down. He'll be down for about two, three weeks with a high ankle sprain, so we just got to step in and do the best we can as far as helping the team win and get our first victory.'

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Stefan Logan, OL Tony Hills, CB Anthony Madison, and TE Matt Spaeth will be on the bubble to make the final roster once training camp begins, according to CBSSports.com.

Steelers | Logan performs well on kick returns Saturday    Mon Aug 24, 04:38 AM

Scott Brown, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, reports Pittsburgh Steelers RB Stefan Logan piled up 205 return yards during the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 22. Logan had kickoff returns of 60 and 45 yards in the game, and he said he was "inches" from taking both returns for touchdowns.

Footballguys view: Logan is only 5'6" 180 pounds, but earned the nickname "joystick" when he starred in the CFL for British Columbia. It's a big change for the Steelers, who had plodding RBs Gary Russell and Najeh Davenport returning kicks for them last season. Logan is one of the fastest players on the team, and was barely edged out in a race by fellow RB Willie Parker.
