Rams | Leonard Little officially retires Wed Dec 15, 11:31 PM
St. Louis Rams DE Leonard Little announced Tuesday, Dec. 14, that he has decided to retire, reports Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Little let head coach Steve Spagnuolo know he was available in the preseason, but the need never existed with good play from DLs James Hall and Chris Long.

Bill Coats, from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports DE Leonard Little suffered what is believed to be a sprained right knee at Monday morning's practice. Little went down in a 9-on-7 run-game drill and was helped off the field. After several minutes, he returned to the action but came out again, obviously upset. An ice wrap was taped to his knee. "We just wanted to shut him down and be careful," coach Steve Spagnuolo said.

'I'll always be an every-down player if I am healthy,'' Little said. 'I don't know where people get this thing where I am just a third-down player. I have been playing every down since I have been starting.'
Footballguys view: With the success Steve Spagnuolo's defense had getting after the passer in New York, and the very cheap price that Little comes with in drafts this year, we think he'd make a fine risk/reward DE3 in sack heavy leagues. |
