Broncos | Phillip Lindsay limited    Wed Nov 20, 06:13 PM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (foot, wrist) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Footballguys view: Lindsay should get a healthy workload against the Bills on Sunday. The Broncos aren't using him enough but that may change based on the Bills weakness when stopping the run. Start him as an RB2 with upside in Week 12.

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay totals 75 scrimmage yards    Sun Nov 17, 05:17 PM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay ran 16 times for a game-high 67 yards in Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings and he added two grabs for eight yards on two targets.

Footballguys view: Lindsay ran well and got an ideal game script, but didn't break any big plays or convert a score so it was a disappointing fantasy afternoon. He'll face a Bills run defense that suddenly firmed up today against Miami.

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries against the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. He also caught four passes for 49 yards during the game.

Footballguys view: Lindsay had a ton of fight in his game and scored on a fourth down carry that offered two much larger defenders a clear shot to bring him down. He showed that he should be playing over Royce Freeman, especially in the passing game. He'll be a high ceiling RB2 against Jacksonville next week.

Broncos | Denver feeling good about Royce Freeman     Thu Aug 1, 02:09 PM

Denver Broncos RB Royce Freeman is performing well enough in camp that coaches appear ready to 'finally establish the true split-touch situation they envisioned between Freeman and Phillip Lindsay last season,' according to Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson.

Footballguys view: That's been known around Denver for quite some time. Freeman has looked like a natural in the wide-zone scheme the Broncos are implementing this season. He should be the lead back when the team needs tough yards or near the goal line. Lindsay is more explosive and doesn't need as many carries to put up more yards. This looks like a 'hot hand' approach that was further complicated with the signing of Theo Riddick.

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay might see more grabs    Mon Jul 22, 02:51 AM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay might get more touches as a receiver out of the backfield, offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello hinted Sunday, July 21. He was seen splitting out wide and matching up against various linebackers during 11-on-11 drills.

Footballguys view: Lindsay's value could grow this year if he is more involved in the passing game, although Royce Freeman's role as a runner could grow enough to offset that. His ADP is fair even though it doesn't quite give him full credit for an astoundingly successful rookie year.

Broncos | Denver RBs compared to former Falcons duo    Sun Jul 21, 03:21 PM

Denver Broncos RBs Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman remind offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello of former Atlanta Falcons running mates Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman. Coleman has since moved on to the San Francisco 49ers via free agency.

Footballguys view: Freeman is better suited for short yardage carries and carries to finish games, and Lindsay is the better big play threat. Both should be used more as receivers this year. Most signs point to their workloads and fantasy values being closer together than they were last year.

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay gets early work    Thu Jul 18, 12:17 PM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) participated in the first offensive rep of training camp Thursday, July 18, and received the handoff on a rushing play. Lindsay didn't take a single handoff all offseason after undergoing wrist surgery this past winter.

Footballguys view: Lindsay didn't catch a single pass all offseason either. He did that on Thursday and looked good doing it. A wrist injury didn't do anything to his legs, and Lindsay looked super quick and fast on the first day of training camp. He'll be the No. 1 running back for the Broncos in 2019 but he's going to split time with Royce Freeman. We could see Freeman getting a lot of carries and Lindsay being used more as a receiver.

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay to be eased back    Wed Jul 17, 02:05 PM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) is ready for the start of training camp but will be eased back into practice during the early portion of camp.

Footballguys view: Broncos head coach Vic Fangio said the team would ease him back in...but they would be quick about it. Lindsay did not participate in team drills this offseason and has not taken a handoff or caught a pass in practice this offseason. We expect him to be limited in the preseason but get full work in practices after about a week or so.

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay on track for camp    Wed Jun 5, 05:58 PM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) should be ready for the start of training camp, according to head coach Vic Fangio.

Footballguys view: Lindsay should be ready for the start of camp, but don't be surprised if the Broncos ease him back into action. They're playing in the Hall of Fame Game and have five preseason games this year. There's no need to rush the 2018 Pro Bowl running back. Royce Freeman has looked outstanding in OTAs and mandatory minicamp. We should see Freeman cut into Lindsay's touches a bit this season.

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay not fully recovered    Sun Jun 2, 08:35 PM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) has been able to participate in individual drills during OTAs but has not yet been cleared to catch passes.

Footballguys view: This is an important situation for Fantasy GMs to monitor. Lindsay had surgery in late December to repair his wrist and has been working through a long recovery. He has not caught passes or taken handoffs in practice due to the wrist. He's still wearing a brace, but the hope is Lindsay will be ready some time early in training camp. Due to their appearance in the Hall of Fame Game, the Broncos start training camp in mid-July.

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay to be limited during OTAs    Sun May 12, 04:28 PM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) will be a limited participant during organized team activities because of his wrist injury, according to head coach Vic Fangio.

Footballguys view: Even a limited role in OTAs is a good sign for Lindsay, who had a serious wrist injury at the end of the season. We'll be watching his progress closely with likely improvements in the Broncos offense (especially on the offensive line) fueling a more productive season.

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay taking it easy    Wed Apr 17, 10:48 PM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) is at the team's minicamp, but either doing side field work or no work at all. 'He's still under the medical people's orders. He's fine, but he can't just twist (the wrist) right now,' head coach Vic Fangio said Tuesday, April 16.

Footballguys view: Lindsay was fantastic as a rookie, being the first undrafted offensive player to be named to the Pro Bowl in his first season. This wrist injury is troubling as he won't be at full strength until we get to training camp. In the meantime, the Broncos new coaching staff will get a long look at 2018 third-round pick Royce Freeman.

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay continues to rehab    Thu Apr 4, 02:26 AM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) might be able to return for organized team activities (OTAs) in May/June, general manager John Elway suggested. However, Lindsay said Wednesday, April 3 that he would not pin an exact date on his comeback. 'For me, I put no time limit on my injury right now,' Lindsay said. 'When I'm ready, I'm going to be ready.'

Footballguys view: Lindsay may not be ready to fully participate until training camp. The team is playing in the Hall of Fame Game this year, so their camp should open around mid July. We'll see Royce Freeman get an opportunity to impress the new coaching staff while Lindsay continues to recover. Lindsay rushed for over 1,000 yards in 2018 but there are concerns about his workload and durability. The Broncos should try to get Freeman more involved in 2019.

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay unlikely for minicamp    Sun Mar 24, 12:08 PM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) is unlikely to be ready for the team's draft-week bonus minicamp as he recovers from wrist surgery, head coach Vic Fangio said Sunday, March 24.

Footballguys view: This is something to monitor as we get towards training camp. Lindsay may not do anything until August, giving Royce Freeman a chance to make a positive impression during OTAs and minicamp. Lindsay was phenomenal as a rookie, being the first undrafted rookie to be named to the Pro Bowl on offense. We'll see if he can get healthy, stay healthy and avoid a sophomore slump in 2019.

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay remains in cast    Wed Feb 6, 06:34 PM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (arm) is still sporting a cast on the right arm he fractured and had surgery on late in the season.

Footballguys view: It could be some time before Lindsay gets back on the football field. Lindsay did not discuss his status for organized team activities this offseason, saying he is simply going with the flow in his recovery. We imagine the Broncos will limit him up until training camp.

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay may be ready for workouts    Wed Jan 30, 10:29 PM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) said he expects to participate in some of the workouts this offseason. General manager John Elway said Lindsay is on track to take part in organized team activities and the June minicamp.

Footballguys view: Lindsay should remain the starter, but the new offensive staff could seek to make Royce Freeman a bigger part of the offense to preserve Lindsay. Getting back on the field as early as possible will be good for the outstanding UDFA.

Broncos | Multiple months for Phillip Lindsay    Wed Dec 26, 05:17 PM

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) will have three to four months of recovery following surgery on his injured wrist, according to head coach Vance Joseph.

Footballguys view: Lindsay should be ready for non-contact work during OTAs and minicamp. He was one of the few bright spots for the Broncos this year, going from sixth on the depth chart to being only the third 1,000-yard undrafted rookie rusher in NFL history. The Broncos will see what fellow rookie Royce Freeman can do as the team's starter against the Chargers in Week 17.

Broncos | More on Phillip Lindsay    Wed Dec 26, 12:24 PM

Updating previous reports, Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) has torn ligaments around the scaphoid bone in his wrist, and it's a four-to-six-month injury. He could do non-contact drills in organized team activities.

Footballguys view: Lindsay is not going to play in the season finale against the Chargers obviously, and this injury should prevent him from playing in the Pro Bowl. He was perhaps the lone bright spot for the Broncos offense in 2018, and we love his upside for the future. The Broncos should turn to fellow rookie Royce Freeman to be their starter against the Chargers on Sunday.

Broncos | Phillip Lindsay 'faces lengthy recovery'    Tue Dec 25, 06:25 PM

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) is facing a 'lengthy recovery,' according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. He is dealing with 'a possible scaphoid fracture along with ligament damage.'

Footballguys view: Bad news for the Broncos rookie sensation here. Lindsay is the first undrafted offensive rookie to be voted to the Pro Bowl and this wrist injury is likely to keep him from participating. Lindsay rushed for over 1,000 yards this year, only the third undrafted rookie to do that in NFL history. It's a lengthy recovery but one that should be healed up by the time training camp rolls around. There's a chance Lindsay would be available for spring OTA work as well.

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) is believed to have suffered a serious wrist injury in Week 16 and his season is over, according to a source. He will undergo more tests this week.

Footballguys view: The Denver phenom is dealing with what could be a scaphoid fracture in addition to ligament damage. His recovery will be lengthy unless the aforementioned tests show otherwise.

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay rushed 14 times for 24 yards and caught four passes for 20 yards in a 17-16 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 15.

Footballguys view: Lindsay has become the focus of opposing defenses and hasn't been able to put up his usual numbers. He was out at the goal line for Royce Freeman a few times to add to the pain for his fantasy teams. If they survived this dud, the matchup against the Raiders next week should be better.

Denver Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay ranks third in the league in rushing (434 yards) and second in yards per carry (5.86) since Week 7.

Undrafted out of Colorado in 2018, Lindsay has taken over the Broncos backfield and is a threat to score anytime he touches the ball. The Broncos are monitoring his workload as Lindsay is not a big back (190 pounds). Lindsay is a RB1 for Fantasy GMs as the fantasy playoffs are approaching.
