Ravens | Joe Flacco has been a great leader Mon May 27, 07:18 PM
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh praised QB Joe Flacco as being a great leader, and that LB Ray Lewis retiring is not going to change who Flacco is. "Joe has been a great leader,' Harbaugh said. 'Joe has done a great job throughout his career in his own way. One thing about Joe: Nothing is going to change Joe. Joe is going to be who he is."
Footballguys view: Flacco has flourished over this last season into the franchise QB the team wanted when they drafted him in the first-round of the 2008 NFL draft. He's really taken to the new direction of the offense once Jim Caldwell was promoted and Cam Cameron was fired last year. The offense is now built around his strengths and he's showing trust in weapons like Dennis Pitta, Torrey Smith, and Jacoby Jones. |

Ravens | Ray Lewis struggled in SB XLVII Thu Feb 7, 11:41 AM
Baltimore Ravens LB Ray Lewis struggled in coverage during Super Bowl XLVII, which led head coach John Harbaugh to tell his defensive assistant coaches that they needed to make sure their calls didn't leave Lewis covering San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis or WR Michael Crabtree over the middle of the field. 'We can't let Ray be matched up on 85 or 15 all day when we're playing quarters,' Harbaugh told his coaches.
Footballguys view: Lewis lost a step and wasn't the same in coverage this year. When he was matched up with Davis or Crabtree it usually meant a big play for the 49ers. |

Former New York Giants WR Amani Toomer said Ravens LB Ray Lewis is setting the wrong tone for his team as the Super Bowl approaches, making it all about him and his retirement. If you single yourself out after you make a play, that's one thing. But to walk out on the field reminds me of the WWE, like The Rock coming out. You're becoming a caricature of yourself.
