Saints | Daniel Lasco waived Wed Mar 6, 05:10 PM
New Orleans Saints exclusive rights free-agent RB Daniel Lasco was waived Wednesday, March 6, according to a source. He was on the Physically Unable to Perform list last year with a bulging disc in his back.
Footballguys view: Lasco has all-purpose ability but he's not been able to latch on in the pros. He might find it difficult to get another shot. |

Saints | Daniel Lasco shown the door Wed Jul 18, 01:50 PM
New Orleans Saints RB Daniel Lasco was released Wednesday, July 18, in the wake of the signing of RB Shane Vereen.
Footballguys view: Lasco was a do-everything back in college at Cal but he never did much to impress with the Saints. The addition of Vereen meant there was no room for Lasco with training camp coming up. We could see a team show interest in Lasco but likely just for a camp body. |

New Orleans Saints RB Daniel Lasco (back) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Nov. 14.

Saints | Daniel Lasco promoted to active roster Tue Oct 17, 07:04 PM
New Orleans Saints RB Daniel Lasco was promoted the active roster from the practice squad Tuesday, Oct. 17.
Footballguys view: The Saints had been looking for RB help and working out various veterans after trading away Adrian Peterson last week. Lasco will serve as a backup/special teams player. We like his all-purpose skill set, but Lasco isn't in line to get many touches behind Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara. |

The New Orleans Saints re-signed RB Daniel Lasco to their practice squad Tuesday, Sept. 12. He takes the place of WR Max McCaffrey, who was signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars active roster.
Footballguys view: Lasco is a decent all-purpose back with natural instincts for running the ball. We're only monitoring him in the deepest of deep dynasty leagues. |

Saints | C.J. Spiller a healthy scratch in Week 1 Mon Sep 12, 02:06 PM
New Orleans Saints RB C.J. Spiller was a healthy scratch in Week 1, according to head coach Sean Payton, who also stated RB Travaris Cadet was going to have a bigger role on offense and rookie Daniel Lasco was going to contribute more on special teams.
Footballguys view: So much for a fully healthy Spiller doing anything for the Saints. He's safe to drop for those who took him as a 'lottery ticket' pick. |

Saints | Daniel Lasco suffers head injury Sat Aug 27, 01:28 PM
New Orleans Saints RB Daniel Lasco (head) left the preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth quarter Friday, Aug. 26, after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from LB Vince Williams. He walked off the field with the assistance of a trainer after being down on the ground for several minutes and headed for the locker room.
Footballguys view: We'll see if the rookie gets put in the concussion protocol. We like Lasco's all-purpose ability and are interested in monitoring his development in all dynasty formats. |

Saints | Running backs fighting for roster spots Sun Jul 17, 01:42 PM
New Orleans Saints RBs Travaris Cadet, Daniel Lasco and Marcus Murphy will all be battling for a spot on the final roster, with Cadet being the most likely to make the team.
Footballguys view: Cadet may have the edge due to his pro experience, but we like the idea of Lasco earning a spot on the 53-man roster. Lasco was an all-purpose back in college at Cal, and he does everything well. He's not a pile-pusher, but Lasco is an efficient runner who does a good job following his blocks. Lasco is also good on special teams. Even if he doesn't make the team, we feel the Saints should keep him around as a developmental prospect on the practice squad. |

Saints | NOLA backup RB spots up for grabs Wed Jun 22, 11:39 PM
New Orleans Saints RBs Travaris Cadet, Daniel Lasco, Marcus Murphy are likely to jockey for the spots behind RBs Mark Ingram, Tim Hightower and C.J. Spiller. Murphy and Lasco benefit special teams, with Murphy as a return man and Lasco for coverage. Cadet might also crack the roster as a runner, receiver and return man, and the final spot might come down to Cadet and Murphy and who is hotter in training camp and the preseason.
Footballguys view: Murphy has receiving ability and could vie for the role CJ Spiller has been lackluster in so far in New Orleans. Lasco is a SPARQ freak who has top-end athleticism, but an injury-marred 2015 caused him to drop in the draft. Cadet has the most experience in the offense and could be the most productive in a receiving role. It looks like Tim Hightower will be the handcuff to Mark Ingram no matter who wins this fourth running back spot. |

NFL | Three more visits for Daniel Lasco Wed Apr 27, 07:25 PM
California RB Daniel Lasco recently worked out privately for the Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Lasco was a sensation in 2014, but a hip injury slowed him down in 2015. He had one of the two highest SPARQ scores in this years class and is loved by measureables analytics. Consider him a high upside sleeper for the second or third round of rookie drafts. |

NFL | Two more teams invite Daniel Lasco Thu Mar 31, 05:59 PM
California RB Daniel Lasco has been invited to work out for the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers. Lasco was already invited to the Houston Texans' prospect day.
Footballguys view: CBS has Lasco as a fourth rounder due to durability concerns and a lack of power despite his overall size. He has experience in a pass-heavy offense though and can catch the ball, so he could fit in as a change of pace back. That might limit his fantasy impact a bit, but could earn him a nice NFL career. |

Texans | Daniel Lasco invited to prospect day Sat Mar 26, 03:45 PM
California RB Daniel Lasco was invited to the Houston Texans' prospect day, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Lasco is one of our favorite sleeper RBs in this draft class. He may be a mid- to late-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft, but he's got the all-purpose skill set to be a starter in the NFL. With the recent history of Cal backs (Marshawn Lynch, C.J. Anderson), we'll certainly be stashing Lasco in any dynasty league. |
