Bills | Dawan Landry visiting    Tue Apr 7, 01:14 PM

Free-agent SS Dawan Landry (Jets) is visiting with the Buffalo Bills Tuesday, April 7.

Footballguys view: Head coach Rex Ryan likes Landry dating back to their days together with the Baltimore Ravens. He's an in-the-box safety who can stuff the run, but he struggles in coverage.

Jets | Calvin Pryor, Dawan Landry could start    Thu Jul 10, 08:08 PM

New York Jets S Calvin Pryor and SS Dawan Landry are projected as the team's starters, according to Darryl Slater of The Star-Ledger. Slater believes head coach Rex Ryan will want Landry to serve as a veteran presence alongside Pryor.

Footballguys view: It's a great combination for the Jets. We're excited about Pryor's upside in the pros. The rookie is an intimidating presence and he arrives at the play with natural violence. He can play close to the line of scrimmage, but Pryor can also turn to cover downfield.

Jets | Impressed with two rookies    Thu May 29, 04:41 PM

New York Jets defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman has spoken highly of rookie S Calvin Pryor and CB Dexter McDougle, but he's not handing out any starting jobs just yet. Thurman said SS Dawan Landry will always have a key role on defense.

Footballguys view: The Jets learned last year not to bring their defensive backs along too quickly, having had to throttle back their use of Dee Milliner until he got settled late in the season. Pryor isn't banged up like Milliner was, and has a good chance of ending up in that starting strong safety spot, while McDougle is a guy who needs some reps and will likely rotate in for some time. Both are big hitters though, so we expect to see the Jets use them to enforce the middle of the field, something the defense has struggled with for years.
