Ravens | Eddie Lacy works out for Baltimore    Fri Apr 5, 12:55 PM

Free-agent RB Eddie Lacy (Seahawks), who was out of football in 2018, worked out Friday, April 5, for the Baltimore Ravens.

Footballguys view: Lacy is not the same player he used to be and unlikely to be a good acquisition for the Ravens. They want to add another back to the mix even though they added Mark Ingram in free agency.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy unlikely to return    Thu Feb 15, 07:00 PM

Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent RB Eddie Lacy is not expected to re-sign with the Seahawks this offseason.

Footballguys view: Lacy was a pretty big disappointment this year and with Chris Carson looking so good before his injury, there's no point in keeping Lacy around.

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy (groin) fully participated in practice Saturday, Nov. 18, and is not on the injury report for Week 11.

Footballguys view: There's so little value in the Seattle run game, and Lacy doesn't hold any of it. If you have room on your roster, you can hold on to him as a handcuff, but even if he gets another shot we don't expect much given what we've seen this season.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy unlikely to play    Tue Nov 7, 07:20 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy (groin) is not expected to play in Week 10 due to his groin injury. RB Thomas Rawls will start in his place.

Footballguys view: The Seahawks play on Thursday night against the Cardinals. This move was expected as Lacy wasn't even able to finish the game in Week 9. He logged 11 snaps against Washington before injuring his groin. Rawls is a consideration as a flex play for fantasy owners.

Seahawks | Big role for Eddie Lacy?    Wed Nov 1, 04:35 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy will play a big part in Seattle's Week 9 game plan, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Footballguys view: He's big and he'll have a role, but does that mean Lacy will have a big role? Against Washington in Week 9, Lacy is a RB4 or deep flex for fantasy owners. The Seattle backfield is not exciting at all, and it would be nice to see someone emerge as fantasy worthy.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy expected to start    Sun Oct 8, 10:13 AM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy is expected to serve as the starting running back against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5.

Footballguys view: Lacy is looking like the better play despite Thomas Rawls being healthy and running ahead of Lacy in preseason. The Rams have given up seven scores to running backs this year, so Lacy could have some value.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls next in line to start?    Mon Oct 2, 01:41 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls was a healthy scratch in Week 4, but head coach Pete Carroll seemed to suggest he would get the nod over Eddie Lacy in the wake of Chris Carson's 'significant' leg injury.

Footballguys view: That's the way it seems, and fantasy owners that can choose between the two could go with Rawls. The two have a combined 10 carries for seven yards in 2017, but there could be enough volume here to be flex worthy if you need RB help from the waiver wire.

Seahawks | Chris Carson pulling away from the pack    Mon Sep 25, 01:57 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson has played 117 snaps this season, compared to 17 for Thomas Rawls and seven for Eddie Lacy.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls officially starting    Tue Sep 5, 05:52 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls is listed as the No. 1 running back on the Seahawks' depth chart. RB Eddie Lacy is listed as the backup, followed by RB C.J. Prosise.

Footballguys view: Rawls is not guaranteed to play in Week 1 as he's dealing with an ankle injury. He's at the top of the depth chart but we could see Lacy begin the year as the lead back if Rawls isn't healthy. The Seahawks backfield is a bit of a mess for fantasy owners, but we don't mind making rookie Chris Carson a 'lottery ticket' pick late in deep drafts.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls to miss preseason game    Thu Aug 17, 03:20 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) will be sidelined for Week 2 of the preseason with a minor ankle ailment. RB Eddie Lacy will start in his place.

Footballguys view: Rawls has been getting the number one back work, so here's a chance for Lacey to show he should be getting more of those reps. Lacey is already going off the board and drafts well before Rawls. Lacey's ADP is 73 overall (29 back taken) while Rawls is being selected as the 131 player overall (46 back selected). That makes this running back battle crucial to watch for anyone thinking of investing in the Seattle backfield.

Seahawks | Chris Carson getting some first-team work    Wed Aug 16, 02:55 PM

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls the No. 1 running back?    Wed Aug 9, 05:54 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls appears to be the clear No. 1 running back right now ahead of RB Eddie Lacy, according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. Lacy worked exclusively with the second-team offense in practice Wednesday, Aug. 9.

Footballguys view: This is not reflected in current ADP, and would be a surprise after the Seahawks signed Lacy in the offseason. Perhaps it has to do with Lacy's recovery from ankle surgery, but that shouldn't be affecting him that much at this point since it happened in 2016. Rawls runs hotter than Lacy, and he might well hold onto this lead, with CJ Prosise also getting a lot of touches. Right now, Lacy should be avoided, Rawls looks like a value, and Prosise is a role player.

Seahawks | Pete Carroll excited about Eddie Lacy    Thu Aug 3, 09:51 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy's results from his Aug. 1 weigh-in were not made public, but head coach Pete Carroll said he is 'fired up' about Lacy's conditioning.

Footballguys view: So far so good for Lacy, who appears to be the favorite to lead the Seahawks backfield in touches. It probably won't be enough to be an RB1 like he was in Green Bay, but Lacy's ADP reflects that.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy to be weighed again    Mon Jul 31, 08:35 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy is scheduled to be weighed again Tuesday, Aug. 1, and will receive a $55,000 bonus if he weighs 250 pounds or less.

Footballguys view: Lacy has met the weight goals as the offseason has gone on, and it's difficult to imagine he would miss out on this weigh in after camp starts. Expect Lacy to be pushed for the starting job in training camp by Thomas Rawls, and fantasy owners need to know that C.J. Prosise is going to have a pass-catching role (at least) in this backfield too.

Seahawks | Equal share of carries between Eddie Lacy and Thomas Rawls?    Thu Jun 22, 07:49 PM

Bob Condotta, from the Seattle Times, speculates that the Seattle Seahawks could give Eddie Lacy and Thomas Rawls a fairly equal share of the basedown carries in 2017. Health and productivity (plus he brings up the dreaded 'hot hand' approach) should be the primary factors in how carries are split between the two.

Footballguys view: If Lacy is healthy and not overweight, we think he'll get the bulk of the carries. However, Rawls is a player who could see some snaps if Lacy falters. There is absolutely cause for concern with these players. And let's not forget C.J. Prosise could take a lot of third-down snaps.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy receives weight bonus    Tue Jun 13, 11:00 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy received his $55,000 bonus for weighing in at 250 pounds or less Monday, June 12, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Two weigh-ins for Lacy have led to two paydays for the big back. He's got more coming during the regular season where the team wants him playing at 245 pounds or less. If Lacy is in shape, he might get back to his 1,000-yard ways in his first season with the Seahawks.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy has another weigh-in    Mon Jun 12, 09:27 AM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy will earn $55,000 if he weighs 250 pounds or less Monday, June 12.

Footballguys view: Lacy is back on the P90X workout program to stay in shape (round is a shape) this offseason. He met his first goal last month and should be on track to hit this number as well. During the regular season, Lacy could get $55K each time he weighs in less than 245 pounds.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy to be weighed Monday    Sun Jun 11, 04:16 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy is scheduled to be weighed Monday, June 12, and will need to be 250 pounds or less to receive a $55,000 bonus, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Lacy weighed in last month below the target goal of 255 pounds. He's been using P90X to get into better shape and keep him on track for the Seahawks plan. He's got a bonus of $55K due in July and August if he can check in below 250 pounds. During the regular season, Lacy could get $55K each time he weighs in less than 245 pounds. That's a lot of paper for staying in shape (shape-ish)....we'll see if Lacy can do it.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy taking steps to keep weight off    Sun Jun 4, 02:38 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy is taking part in a P90X, 30-day challenge this summer and has a 'nutrition team' whose intent is to help Lacy meet the weight clauses in his contract and keep him at or around the 245-pound mark at coach Pete Carroll wants him to play at during the season.

Footballguys view: We've heard about Lacy using P90x before and weight problems were still a problem for him after he got off the program. He'll need to show that he can eat the right way in addition to training the right way after this 30-day challenge is done. Lacy had back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons to begin his pro career but he hasn't eclipsed that mark over the last two years. We'll see if a fresh start with Seattle helps.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy should be ready for camp    Sat Jun 3, 04:04 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) should be a full participant once training camp begins, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Footballguys view: Seattle is just happy that he's not overweight. Injuries have hampered Lacy over the last two seasons, and his weight problems certainly haven't helped him stay healthy. Lacy has been limited during organized team activities because of an ankle injury.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy working his way back     Fri Jun 2, 09:53 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) has been limited in OTAs, but he said Friday, June 2, that the injury is steadily progressing.

Footballguys view: The Seahawks aren't going to rush anything here. Lacy is in shape (for him) and he's working his way back from the ankle injury. He'll be the lead back for the Seahawks this year and is looking to get back to the 1,000-yard production he had during his first two seasons in the league.

Seahawks | Seattle expects to run more often in 2017    Fri May 19, 03:50 PM

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said this week the Seahawks will run the ball more often this season. The team added Eddie Lacy to a backfield that already had a pair of injury-prone players in C.J. Prosise and Thomas Rawls.

Footballguys view: That's good news for Lacy and company. Lacy comes over from Green Bay in free agency this offseason, and he needed a fresh start. After two years of strong production with the Packers, the last two years have seen the big back struggle through weight problems and injuries. If healthy, over 1,000 yards rushing and 7-9 rushing touchdowns is possible with his new team. Fantasy owners are drafting Lacy at RB20 (5.01) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy has more incentives    Thu May 18, 05:58 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy can earn $1.3 million if he rushes for at least 1,200 yards this season. Rushing for a minimum of 800 yards will cash him in for $250,000, 900 yards will be $500,000, 1,000 yards will be $750,000 and $1,100 yards would earn him $1 million.

Footballguys view: Lacy has plenty of reasons not to be overweight this year, and we'll see if he can stay on track in 2017. He has already gained $55,000 for not exceeding 255 pounds.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy passes weight test    Mon May 15, 03:14 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy earned $55,000 Monday, May 15, for weighing 253 pounds -- two below the limit Seattle set for him.

Footballguys view: Just under the wire! Lacy has a weight clause in his contract with the Seahawks...and for good reason. They don't need him filling up on Italian food at The Pink Door and getting out of shape. The team wants Lacy to play around 245 pounds this year. If he can keep his weight under control, it could help with his stamina and availability - something that's been a problem for him over the last two years.

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy is due for a weigh-in Monday, May 15. If he weighs 255 pounds or less, he'll earn $35,000.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy likes system    Thu Mar 16, 11:34 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy said he is motivated to prove he is not a fluke, and he feels Seattle's offense fits his running style.

Footballguys view: Lacy had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in his first two years with the Packers. Since then, he's struggled with injuries and weight problems, and he's not even come close to the same type of production. We'll see if the system (and the fresh start) helps Lacy play up to his potential.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy's deal has weight incentives    Thu Mar 16, 08:09 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy's new contract includes incentives for each month he meets a target weight designated by the team. He earns an additional $55,000 for being at 255 pounds in May, 250 pounds in June through August and 245 pounds from September to December.

Footballguys view: This is what it comes to when you spend two years having to counter rumors you are overweight and out of shape. We believe in Lacy, but still think it's wise to keep him incentivized like the Seahawks are.
