Bears | Cole Kmet recovering from injury Sat Feb 10, 07:27 AM
Chicago Bears TE Cole Kmet (forearm) said he suffered a fractured forearm during the regular season finale but does not need surgery.
Footballguys view: Good news for the Bears here. He said he will be fine for the start of offseason workouts. Now, we just have to see who the Bears have a quarterback for 2024. They have QB Justin Fields, but with the no1 overall pick they could get a generational talent in USC QB Caleb Williams. Stay tuned. |

Bears | Chicago's injury report for Week 17 Fri Dec 29, 03:00 PM
Chicago Bears WR Darnell Mooney (concussion) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 17 against the Atlanta Falcons. TE Cole Kmet (knee) and OL Lucas Patrick (knee) were limited in practice on Friday, Dec. 29, and are listed as questionable. OG Teven Jenkins (concussion), LB Noah Sewell (knee) and WR Equanimeous St. Brown (pectoral) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
Footballguys view: Kmet getting in a limited practice could be enough for him to play after the outlook was dim earlier in the week. He would help Justin Fields value this week and probably be a low TE1 with upside. Fields could look to his secondary receivers more with AJ Terrell likely on DJ Moore much of the day. |

Chicago Bears TE Cole Kmet leads all pass-catchers (40-target minimum) with a 97.9 percent catch rate on catchable targets, according to Sports Info Solutions.

Bears | Two touchdowns for Cole Kmet Sun Nov 5, 06:09 PM
Chicago Bears TE Cole Kmet caught six passes for 55 yards and two touchdowns against the New Orleans Saints in Week 9. He was targeted eight times during the game.
Footballguys view: Tyson Bagent found Kmet twice, once on a terrific play design and once on a ball that challenged Kmet to make a nice play, which he did. After a slow start with Bagent, Kmet is back to being an everyweek tight end play. Justin Fields getting back on the field soon might not matter for Kmet's current healthy fantasy value. |

Bears | Cole Kmet quiet in Week 6 Sun Oct 15, 04:56 PM

Footballguys view: Kmet isn't a viable play without Justin Fields in the lineup. We'll be watching the practice and injury reports to see if Kmet is worth playing against the Raiders next week. If Fields is out for an extended time, Kmet might be droppable. |

DB Kyler Gordon (hand), TE Cole Kmet (hamstring), OL Doug Kramer (thumb) and CB Jaylon Johnson (hamstring) practiced in full on Friday and have been removed from the injury report.
Footballguys view: D'Onta Foreman will be the starter and Darrynton Evans the backup. Foreman actually has a good RB2/Flex outlook against the Vikings this week with Justin Fields reviving the offense and Evans more of a passing down back. |

Bears | Cole Kmet finds the end zone Fri Oct 6, 01:11 AM
Chicago Bears TE Cole Kmet had five receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown against the Washington Commanders on Thursday, Oct. 5. He was targeted five times.
Footballguys view: When Justin Fields is playing well, he looks to Kmet to finish drives in the red zone. The tight end scored once against Washington and should have opportunity to score at least once against the Vikings next week. Kmet is shaping up to be a top 6-8 tight end if Fields can maintain the level of play he established the last two weeks, albeit against poor defenses. |

Bears | Cole Kmet scores pair of touchdowns Sun Oct 1, 06:48 PM
Chicago Bears TE Cole Kmet ended up with seven grabs for 85 yards and two touchdowns on nine targets in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos, while posting one rushing attempt for one yard.
Footballguys view: As goes Justin Fields, so goes Cole Kmet. It's clear that Fields looks for Kmet when the play breaks down in the red zone. Kmet was Fields favorite end zone target last year, and that looks like it will carry over to this season. If Kmet was dropped, he'll be a priority pickup this week. |
