Commanders | Kliff Kingsbury will have full control of offense    Thu Feb 15, 01:09 PM

Commanders | Kliff Kingsbury headed to Washington    Mon Feb 5, 01:10 AM

Southern California offensive assistant Kliff Kingsbury is being hired by the Washington Commanders to fill their vacant offensive coordinator position, according to league sources.

Footballguys view: Kingsbury gets back to the NFL after spending one year at USC. The former Cardinals head coach gets to take over an offense that needs a franchise quarterback. With the no2 overall pick, the Commanders will be in line to take a quarterback with that selection.

Eagles | Kliff Kingsbury talks with Philadelphia    Wed Jan 24, 02:07 AM

Former Arizona Cardinals head coach and Southern California offensive analyst Kliff Kingsbury met virtually with the Philadelphia Eagles regarding their offensive coordinator vacancy on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

Footballguys view: Kingsbury failed as head coach of the Cardinals but he could still be a good coordinator. We'll see if that happens in the near future as the Eagles need to jumpstart their once powerful offense.

Bears | Kliff Kingsbury set to meet with Chicago    Thu Jan 18, 01:59 PM

Former Arizona Cardinals head coach and current University of Southern California senior offensive analyst and quarterbacks coach Kliff Kingsbury is expected to interview for the offensive coordinator vacancy with the Chicago Bears, according to sources.

Footballguys view: Things fell apart for Kingbury coaching Kyler Murray in Arizona. He spent 2023 with USC, but he could easily be back in the NFL this season. The Bears need to find someone who can get the best out of QB Justin Fields...or QB Caleb Williams. With Kingsbury having worked with Williams in his final season with the Trojans, the hire and selection of Williams no.1 overall would make sense.

Ravens | Baltimore touched base with Kliff Kingsbury    Mon Feb 13, 02:24 PM

Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury reportedly 'had conversations' with the Baltimore Ravens - presumably regarding the team's offensive coordinator vacancy - recently, according to CBS Sports' Josina Anderson.

Footballguys view: The Ravens are trying to find a new coordinator to take their offense to the next level. They still don't have a new contract worked out with QB Lamar Jackson, and there is buzz building that a tag-and-trade is possible. Kingsbury has some interest out there as a coordinator after the Cardinals fired him as their head coach.

Texans | Kliff Kingsbury meeting with Houston    Fri Feb 10, 01:06 PM

Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury is reportedly speaking to the Houston Texans regarding a position on the coaching staff Friday, Feb. 10.

Footballguys view: Reports indicate Kingsbury has turned down other offers to be an offensive coordinator. After things fell apart during his time as head coach of the Cardinals, some thought Kingsbury might take some time away from coaching. Perhaps teaming with new Texans' head coach Demeco Ryans is an intriguing option.

Cardinals | Kliff Kingsbury fired    Mon Jan 9, 11:55 AM

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury was fired Monday, Jan. 9.

Footballguys view: Things change pretty quickly around here. It was about a year ago when the Cardinals extended both Kingsbury and GM Steve Keim. On Monday, both of them were fired by the team. Hired in 2019, Kingsbury was supposed to be a perfect fit with QB Kyler Murray. Instead, the offense never fully developed into the high-powered passing attack it was supposed to be. We'll see what kind of coach the Cardinals get for the future, and then we'll see how he meshes with Murray in the building.

Cardinals | Kyler Murray had successful surgery    Wed Jan 4, 02:42 PM

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (knee) had successful surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a meniscus, head coach Kliff Kingsbury said on Wednesday, Jan. 4.

Footballguys view: So many things are likely to change for the Cardinals in 2023. They could be looking for a new front office structure, including GM and head coach. Murray's contract means he's going to be their starter, and we'll see what kind of coach they get to work with him...if and when they fire Kingsbury. Murray's recovery timetable puts him on track for the start of the 2023 season.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (illness) could return to practice as early as Friday, Aug. 5, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Cardinals | Cards brass extended    Wed Mar 2, 11:21 AM

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury and general manager Steve Keim received contract extensions Wednesday, March 2, through the 2027 season.

Footballguys view: The Cardinals have taken care of their front office, and now we'll see if they give QB Kyler Murray a long-term extension. Kingsbury has done a good job bringing back the Cardinals franchise, but they had a disappointing end to the 2021 season. With Murray upset with the franchise, things seemed cold just a couple of weeks ago. Now, the team and Murray both say they want to work things out. Saying that and doing that are two different things, but a new contract for Murray should be coming.

Cardinals | Kliff Kingsbury has chance at coaching Sunday    Sun Oct 24, 08:14 AM

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury has not yet been declared out for Week 7's game against the Houston Texans due to COVID-19 protocols. According to multiple sources, he has received one negative COVID-19 test and if he tests negative again Sunday, Oct. 24, he could be cleared to coach versus the Texans.

Cardinals | Kliff Kingsbury still away from team    Sat Oct 23, 01:02 PM

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury's status for the team's Week 7 game Sunday, Oct. 24, against the Houston Texans remains uncertain as he's remained in the COVID-19 protocol this week and away from the team.

Footballguys view: The Cardinals won against the Browns last week without Kingsbury, so they're used to this. The schedule sets up just right for them as they face the Texans in Week 7, and that's a game they should be able win with ease. Defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is splitting head coaching responsibilities with special teams coach Jeff Rodgers. "The plan we have on that [offensive] side of the ball is Kliff's plan," Joseph said (from the team official website). "The virtual stuff, it's like he's in the room with us. So nothing has changed from a prep standpoint. If [Kliff] comes up [available] Saturday or Sunday, he can definitely coach the game."

Cardinals | Kliff Kingsbury could return Tuesday    Sun Oct 17, 10:20 AM

In a best-case scenario, Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury would be able to rejoin the team Tuesday, Oct. 19. He will miss Week 6's game versus the Cleveland Browns after receiving multiple positive tests for COVID-19 several days ago. Kingsbury said that he 'feels great' now but would need two consecutive negative COVID tests 24 hours apart before he is cleared to return.

Cardinals | Two AZ coaches to split head coaching duties in Week 6    Sat Oct 16, 08:17 AM

Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and assistant head coach/special teams coordinator Jeff Rodgers will split head coaching duties for Week 6's game against the Cleveland Browns, as a result of head coach Kliff Kingsbury being unavailable after testing positive for COVID-19.

Footballguys view: Joseph was the head coach for the Denver Broncos for a couple of seasons, so he's got plenty of experience when it comes to running a team on game day. The Cardinals are in a big matchup against the Browns in Week 6. This should be one of the best games from Sunday's slate.

Cardinals | Christian Kirk excited about new offense    Mon Jan 21, 09:24 PM

Arizona Cardinals WR Christian Kirk (foot) said he is looking forward to playing in the offensive scheme that head coach Kliff Kingsbury will bring to the team.

Footballguys view: Kirk should be able to do quite a bit of damage in Kingsbury's 'Air Raid' offense. He made it through 12 games as a rookie in 2018, catching 43 passes for 590 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Kirk also said he will be fully healthy when offseason workouts begin.

Cardinals | Kliff Kingsbury will coach Cardinals    Tue Jan 8, 03:06 PM

Former USC offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury is finalizing a deal to become the next head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Footballguys view: Kingsbury was the OC for the Trojans for about a month. Now, his biggest task will be getting the best out of QB Josh Rosen. A former quarterback himself (Texas Tech), Kingsbury should bring an "Air Raid" offense to the NFL. The move has to be seen as a good one for Rosen after a disastrous rookie season that saw multiple coaches get fired. We'll see if Kingsbury can be a better pro head coach than he was a college head coach (35-40 record at Texas Tech).
