Texans | Case Keenum likely to start Week 16's game    Sat Dec 23, 08:20 AM

Houston Texans QB Case Keenum is expected to start Week 16's game against the Cleveland Browns, as a result of QB C.J. Stroud (concussion) having been ruled out.

Footballguys view: This makes two starts in a row for Keenum as Stroud needs to miss more time. Keenum threw for 229 yards, one touchdown, and an interception versus the Titans in Week 15. That's fine for a game against the Titans, but the Browns have a much tougher defense. Downgrade all Texans' pass-catchers with Keenum in the lineup.

Texans | Case Keenum throws for 229 yards    Sun Dec 17, 05:53 PM

Houston Texans QB Case Keenum went 23-for-36 for 229 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Tennessee Titans in Week 15.

Footballguys view: Keenum threw a pick six early in the game, but leveled off in the second half and overtime to lead the Texans to a crucial win for their playoff hopes. Hopefully CJ Stroud will be back next week to face the fierce Browns defense, but if he can't, Keenum can keep the value of Noah Brown strong enough to plug into fantasy playoff lineups.

Texans | Case Kennum to start for Houston    Sat Dec 16, 01:29 PM

Houston Texans QB Case Keenum is expected to start against the Tennessee Titans in Week 15, according to sources Saturday, Dec. 16.

Footballguys view: Reports indicate that Keenum, and not Davis Mills, took most of the first-team reps this week in practice. The team should favor Keenum's experience, and that means the Texans could lean on their rushing attack against the Titans. They can go after the secondary of Tennessee, but that's likely going to be targets for a security blanket in TE Dalton Schultz and a big-play threat in WR Noah Brown.

  Texans | Houston's Week 12 injury report    Fri Nov 24, 03:46 PM

Houston Texans WR Noah Brown (knee), LB Jake Hansen (hamstring, hand) and S Jimmie Ward (hamstring) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. QB Case Keenum (calf) did not practice all week but is listed as questionable. RB Dameon Pierce (ankle) and C Juice Scruggs (hamstring) practiced in full all week but are also listed as questionable. DE Will Anderson Jr. (knee), OT Charlie Heck (back), LB Henry To'oto'o (concussion) and OT Laremy Tunsil (knee) practiced in full on Friday, Nov. 24, and have been removed from the injury report.

Footballguys view: Brown will miss a second straight week, which raises the ceilings of Tank Dell and Nico Collins, and makes Robert Woods a what-the-heck flex. Pierce should return to the lineup and play the 1B to the 1A Devin Singletary, who is coming off of back-to-back 100 yards games while Pierce was sitting.

Bills | Case Keenum shipped to Buffalo    Sat Mar 19, 04:18 PM

Cleveland Browns QB Case Keenum was traded to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick on Saturday, March 19.

Footballguys view: Keenum gets to compete to be the primary backup to Josh Allen in 2022. The Bills are in a Super Bowl window, so Keenum gives them insurance if Allen has to miss time.

Browns | Cleveland earns victory in season finale    Sun Jan 9, 05:57 PM

Cleveland Browns QB Case Keenum went 17-for-24 for 176 yards, two touchdowns and one interception against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18 and also rushed for 15 yards on five carries. RB D'Ernest Johnson rushed for 123 yards and one touchdown on 25 carries and caught one pass for 10 yards. RB Nick Chubb rushed for 58 yards on nine carries. WR Jarvis Landry caught six passes for 75 yards and one touchdown on eight targets. WR Donovan Peoples-Jones caught three passes for 38 yards on four targets. WR Demetric Felton caught two passes for 18 yards and one touchdown on two targets, while TE David Njoku caught two passes for 11 yards on two targets.

Footballguys view: The Browns 2021 season wasn't the step forward everyone was hoping for, but they will count on that coming next season with a healthy Baker Mayfield playing on a fifth-year option. They put the Odell Beckham mismatch behind them and will start 2022 with a clean slate, but no longer a pass for being a losing team.

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 7. QB Case Keenum will start in his place. This will end Mayfield's streak of 51 consecutive starts.

Free-agent QB Case Keenum (Redskins) is receiving significant interest from the Cleveland Browns, according to a source.

Browns | Case Keenum a target for Cleveland?    Wed Feb 26, 06:03 PM

Washington Redskins impending free-agent QB Case Keenum is under consideration by the Cleveland Browns, a league source said Wednesday, Feb. 26.

Footballguys view: The Browns are considering Keenum to give them veteran experience and plenty of starting experience behind Baker Mayfield. Other reports indicate the Browns might have interest in Chase Daniel too. Both Keenum and Daniel are shorter quarterbacks like Mayfield, and both have worked in spread concepts at both the college and pro level.

Lions | Detroit may look at Case Keenum    Sat Jan 11, 09:08 PM

Washington Redskins impending free-agent QB Case Keenum may receive interest from the Detroit Lions this offseason, in the opinion of the Detroit Free Press' Dave Birkett. The Lions showed interest in Keenum last offseason.

Footballguys view: The Lions want veteran insurance behind Matthew Stafford. In 2019, Stafford was playing at a high level before injuring his back and missing the final eight games of the season. Jeff Driskel and David Blough didn't make much of an impact for the Lions but a guy like Keenum could keep things afloat while Stafford is banged up. Of course, everyone wants Stafford to be healthy but the need to be ready in case he gets hurt again.
