Broncos | Two roster moves made Thu Apr 14, 05:57 PM
Denver Broncos TE Nick Kasa was waived Thursday, April 14, with a non-football injury designation and C Matt Paradis signed his exclusive rights tender.
Footballguys view: The Broncos have a need at the TE position, but Kasa was not going to be the answer. Expect the team to address the position at some point in the draft...although this is not a strong TE class. |

Broncos | Two more sign Reserve/Futures deals Wed Feb 10, 05:56 PM
Denver Broncos RB Kapri Bibbs and TE Nick Kasa signed Reserve/Futures contracts Wednesday, Feb. 10.
Footballguys view: We think Ronnie Hillman moves on in free agency. That means Bibbs could get a shot to move up the depth chart for the Broncos. He's a good runner with a proven nose for the end zone. Dynasty owners should be all over the young runner in a Kubiak system. |

Broncos | Nick Kasa added to practice squad Mon Jan 25, 08:09 PM
Free-agent TE Nick Kasa (Raiders) signed to the Denver Broncos practice squad Monday, Jan. 25.
Footballguys view: Kasa played his college ball just down the road in Boulder. The former CU Buffs tight end is a developmental player worth keeping an eye on in super super deep dynasty leagues. One; he's got a good all-purpose skill set. Two; the Kubiak offense is very good to the position. We'll be keeping an eye on him to see if he can develop and surprise. |

Oakland Raiders TE David Ausberry (knee) has no timetable for his return, and head coach Dennis Allen said Ausberry 'may be out for a little while.' Raiders | D.J. Hayden, four others placed on PUP Fri Jul 25, 05:25 PM
Oakland Raiders CB D.J. Hayden (foot), TE Nick Kasa (undisclosed), CB Keith McGill (ankle), OG Lucas Nix (undisclosed) and FS Usama Young (quadriceps) were placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list Friday, July 25.
Footballguys view: Hayden is the real disappointment here, as he was a risky high pick for them last year. There is no timetable for his return and it looks very much like he will have a hard time improving on his injury-riddled rookie year. |

Raiders | David Ausberry expected to get first shot at TE Thu Jul 18, 08:23 PM
Oakland Raiders TE David Ausberry is expected to receive the first chance to win the starting tight end job during training camp. TEs Nick Kasa and Mychal Rivera are expected to receive long looks during preseason games. TE Richard Gordon is also expected to be a candidate for the job.
Footballguys view: Ausberry is athletic, determined, and swift in the open field. He does have the size and athleticism to be a weapon if used appropriately, but the lack of proven production tempers expectations. |

Raiders | Six draft picks signed Thu Jun 6, 08:40 PM
The Oakland Raiders have signed sixth-round draft choices TE Nick Kasa, RB Latavius Murray, TE Mychal Rivera and DT Stacy McGee as well as seventh-round draft choice WR Brice Butler and DE David Bass. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Murray is the best player to watch here. He is a big runner with a swift style. Murray is a load to bring down when he builds a head of steam and is competing with veteran Rashad Jennings to be the primary backup behind Darren McFadden. Kasa is a converted DE who has been playing TE for less than two years. He's got the size and athleticism but needs to show more natural receiving ability. Kasa is a project worth keeping an eye on in super deep dynasty leagues. |

Raiders | Wide open competition at TE Mon Jun 3, 05:38 PM
Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said the competition for the starting tight end job is wide open because TEs David Ausberry, Richard Gordon and Mychal Rivera have done well during organized team activities. Allen said the team hopes TE Nick Kasa (hamstring) will be able to practice soon because they feel he can fill a role on offense.
Footballguys view: The team lost Brandon Myers (Giants) in free agency and will have to find his replacement in the starting lineup. Ausberry is physically gifted, aggressive, and can rip away contested passes away from defenders. Kasa is a raw prospect with decent upside. He's only been playing TE for about a year and a half after spending most of his time at Colorado as a Defensive End. |

Raiders | Nick Kasa, Mychal Rivera fill need Wed May 1, 10:28 PM
Oakland Raiders rookie TEs Nick Kasa and Mychal Rivera have a chance to make an impact right away, as the team lost TE Brandon Myers (Giants) during the offseason, and have just TEs David Ausberry and Richard Gordon have experience at the position.
Footballguys view: Kasa is an intriguing developmental prospect. He's only played tight end for about a year and a half after going to Colorado as a defensive end. Kasa has a big frame and knows how to use his size to box out defenders. |

NFL | To investigate combine questioning Thu Feb 28, 10:33 AM
The NFL will look into an allegation by Colorado TE Nick Kasa that he was asked about his sexual orientation during the team-by-team interview process at the NFL Scouting Combine. 'Like all employers, our teams are expected to follow applicable federal, state and local employment laws,' Greg Aiello, the NFL's senior vice president of communications, said in a written statement. 'It is league policy to neither consider nor inquire about sexual orientation in the hiring process. In addition, there are specific protections in our collective bargaining agreement with the players that prohibit discrimination against any player, including on the basis of sexual orientation.'
Footballguys view: A few years ago Dez Bryant was asked if his mother was a prostitute. This line of questioning is inappropriate and unnecessary. We'll see the league take action here. |

NFL | Prospect asked about sexuality during combine Wed Feb 27, 09:54 AM
Colorado TE Nick Kasa said he was asked by undisclosed teams multiple questions that touched on sexual preference at the NFL Scouting Combine. 'They ask you like, 'Do you have a girlfriend?' Are you married?' Do you like girls?'' Kasa said. 'Those kinds of things, and you know it was just kind of weird. But they would ask you with a straight face, and it's a pretty weird experience altogether.'
Footballguys view: Teams have to be careful to avoid the appearance of discrimination with these kinds of questions. The NFL has made clear that they do not discriminate based on sexual orientation in the wake of these comments. |

NFL | Nick Kasa moving up charts? Fri Feb 15, 11:06 PM
Colorado TE Nick Kasa is targeting a sub 4.7-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine while weighing in at 270 pounds. Scouts reportedly love his upside.
Footballguys view: Kasa is a talented all around TE who could flourish as a pro. The Buffs offense was inept last year and Kasa didn't get to show off his huge upside. We like him as a mid-round pick. |
