Kasay, who served as the team's union player representative before decertification March 11, spent about 10 minutes inside the facility. Pittsburgh Steelers QB Charlie Batch found the door locked at the team's facilities and then waited in his car. Eventually, he and FS Ryan Clark were allowed in the building.

Carolina Panthers PK John Kasay said Monday, Jan. 3, that he is hopeful to continue his career in 2011, reports Darin Gantt, of the Charlotte Observer. 'I don't know. I've been getting asked that for the last 10 years,' Kasay said when asked if he'd return. The 41-year-old kicker is under contract through 2012.

Carolina Panthers PK John Kasay clanged a 42-yard field goal off the left upright in Week 12 against the Cleveland Browns which would have won the game at the end of regulation, reports Joseph Person, of the Charlotte Observer. Kasay did not blame the conditions and his teammates rallied around the normally accurate kicker. 'If I was half as consistent as him, I'd be in the Hall of Fame already,' LB Jon Beason said. Kasay is 18-of-22 on field goal attempts this season while making all 12 of his point-after attempts.
