Raiders | Joseph waived    Wed Jul 15, 09:23 AM

Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports the Oakland Raiders have waived LB Frantz Joseph.

Footballguys view: McDonald says Joseph was waived because of lack of quickness, which is a fair assessment of his shortcomings. We still think a team looking for a combative, physical, stout LB will find that Joseph can be a useful player.

Raiders | Team will keep seven linebackers    Mon Jul 6, 06:44 PM

Jerry McDonald, from InsideBayArea.com, reports that undrafted rookie LB Chris O'Neill was told that the Oakland Raiders are going to keep seven linebackers. McDonald writes, "the leaders going into camp to fill those spots would be starters Kirk Morrison, Thomas Howard and Jon Alston, in addition to Isaiah Ekejiuba and Ricky Brown, who both were brought back at hefty salaries. That leaves Sam Williams, Norris and undrafted FAs David Nixon and Frantz Joseph competing for the final two spots."

Footballguys view: Norris was a fourth-round pick, so he's likely to make the final roster. We're pulling undrafted rookie Frantz Joseph to get the last spot, who moved home to Florida to care for his mother and play at Florida Atlantic instead of Boston College.

Raiders | Reportedly sign three undrafted free agents    Mon Apr 27, 04:54 PM

Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports the Oakland Raiders have signed undrafted free-agents LB Frantz Joseph (Florida Atlantic), WR Shawn Bayes (Kent State) and LB David Nixon (Brigham Young), according to various reports. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Frantz Joseph is an absolute great signing for the Oakland Raiders. He will get a chance to learn behind Kirk Morrison and could develop into a solid starter in a couple of years.
