He made one catch Tuesday during a streak in which Smith completed 18 of 19 passing attempts. "Yes, it's very frustrating," Jones said. "But if I show I can make plays, they can't hold me out for too long."
| Footballguys view: Jones was the 49ers highest paid free agent last year, but only played in eight games due to a shoulder injury and caught only one pass on the season. He's trying to prove himself as a slot receiver, and is also getting reps as the third-string flanker. We expect the 49ers to be more of a run heavy team in 2010, and Jones shouldn't be on the fantasy radar unless there's a cluster of injuries in front of him on the depth chart. |

'To be honest, I don't know myself. That's what I'm trying to figure out. I thought I was a receiver, but I guess I'm a special teams helper. I don't know. I just do what I can and just help out the team the best way I can. But at this time, I'm wondering the same thing you are,' Jones said.
