Chicago Bears safeties M.D. Jennings and Ryan Mundy lined up as the starting safeties Tuesday, May 27, at organized team activities (OTAs) with FS Chris Conte (shoulder) still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.

Footballguys view: Jennings ended up underwhelming in Green Bay and Mundy is thought to be a better third safety, but with the departure of Major Wright and Chris Conte's awful play against the run last year, the Bears will try anything to see if they can improve the safety position.

Packers | Sean Richardson may see more time    Wed Dec 11, 02:46 AM

Green Bay Packers safeties coach Darren Perry said he does not think FS M.D. Jennings or SS Jerron McMillian have an edge for the starting safety job next to FS Morgan Burnett. 'I don't think either one of those guys separated themselves in terms of being 'that guy' at the end of the last season,' Darren Perry said. 'They both made strides and I think they're going to be fine football players, I really do. Wilson was credited with a 24-yard touchdown pass to WR Golden Tate with no time remaining on a jump-ball situation which Packers FS M.D. Jennings appeared to come down with for an interception. However, the officials saw it differently, and Tate was credited with his second TD of the game, giving the Seahawks a controversial 14-12 victory.

Packers | Charles Woodson opens camp at SS     Thu Jul 26, 10:09 AM

Green Bay Packers CB Charles Woodson opened training camp Thursday, July 26, at strong safety in the team's base defense. In the team's oft-used nickel package, Woodson dropped down to cover the slot receiver and FS M.D. Jennings entered the lineup at safety.

Footballguys view: Woodson is a steal in cornerback-required IDP leagues where he is still listed as one. He could play a lot more safety than cornerback this year, even though corner is his position in the base defense.

Packers | Week 1 Inactives    Thu Sep 8, 07:31 PM

The Green Bay Packers have declared CB Davon House, OT Derek Sherrod, LB Frank Zombo, CB M.D. Jennings, DL Mike Neal, TE Ryan Taylor, DL Vic So'oto inactive for Week week.

Footballguys view: 2011 first-round pick Sherrod is a healthy scratch, but the Packers are deep on the OL, so this isn't a big indictment of the tackle. 2010 second-round pick Neal will be an impact player... if he ever stays healthy.

Packers | Agree with 16 undrafted rookies    Tue Jul 26, 09:26 PM
