Jets | Kris Jenkins not fan of Tim Tebow?    Sun Jun 24, 08:22 PM

Retired DL Kris Jenkins (Jets) might not be that impressed by the exploits of QB Tim Tebow last season in Denver, although evidence refutes his statement. 'He won on a lot of late drives where you are dealing with altitude and defenses are tired, and then he's making the magic happen,' Jenkins said. 'Now he's at sea level. Everyone can keep up with you.' The evidence suggests Jenkins is misguided, as three of Tebow's five fourth-quarter comebacks were on the road, and Tebow did play his college ball at pancake-flat Florida.

Jets | Kris Jenkins critical of Mark Sanchez     Fri Jan 6, 09:35 AM

Former New York Jets DL Kris Jenkins said that QB Mark Sanchez is more concerned being in the New York spotlight than emerging as a team leader. '...He got caught up in the wash that is New York, in the spotlight, taking pictures in the magazines and doing all of that stuff. That's just what everybody has seen with Mark Sanchez, they got tired of it,' Jenkins said. 'I think Mark wants to be a leader, but there's a difference between wanting it and taking it. He's always trying to be a crowd pleaser. He's always trying to be nice. He wants the leadership but he's not willing to take it.'

NFL | Kris Jenkins announces retirement     Wed Jul 20, 02:25 PM

Free-agent DT Kris Jenkins has announced his retirement from professional football.

Footballguys view: Jenkins actually could have gotten a decent payday in free agency even though he has missed most of the last two seasons. 3-4 nose tackles are hard to come by and Jenkins is a proven quality player at that position. The rest of the 3-4 nose tackle class just got a little richer.

Redskins | May look to sign Kris Jenkins, Cullen Jenkins    Sat Jul 16, 03:41 PM

The Washington Redskins may look to sign New York Jets impending free-agent DT Kris Jenkins once the lockout and may use that to try to lure Green Bay Packers impending free-agent DE Cullen Jenkins into signing with the team since they are brothers.

Footballguys view: One Jenkins, Kris, is coming off back-to-back injury-riddled seasons and could come at a discount even though he is a proven 3-4 nose tackle, which is a rare commodity. The other, Cullen, is coming off a great season and should command as much money as any 3-4 end in free agency, which fits with Dan Snyder's free spending history as the Redskins owner.

Redskins | Expected to pursue several top free agents    Wed Jul 13, 01:29 PM

The Washington Redskins are expected to pursue New York Jets impending free-agent WR Santonio Holmes and DL Kris Jenkins, Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent OG Marshal Yanda and New York Giants impending free-agent DL Barry Cofield once free agency begins.

Footballguys view: The honeymoon with second-year coach Mike Shanahan is over. This team needs to win now and win a lot or the team could try to move on in a different direction at the head coach spot.

He called Brady the 'Pretty Boy' quarterback. 'You can do little stuff (during games), but it's hard because you have the Brady Rules now,' Jenkins said. 'You can't touch him. At the end of the day, if you're cocky and you have special rules and stuff, no one wants to hear it. Be quiet. Shut up, just keep it to yourself, if you've got special rules. If this was back in the day, when Lawrence Taylor could hit you, when we were allowed to hit you, hit you the way Derrick Thomas would, I don't think he'd be running around, acting like that.'

New York Jets DL Kris Jenkins (knee) will have an MRI Tuesday, Sept. 14, after injuring his surgically repaired left knee in Week 1, according to Rich Cimini, of ESPNNewYork.com. There's a 50-50 chance he will be lost for the season, according to a person familiar with the injury. If there's no damage to the anterior cruciate ligament, Jenkins could miss only a few weeks. But if the anterior cruciate ligament is torn, he'll be looking at more surgery.

Footballguys view: Losing Jenkins for the season would be a blow to the Jets defense. Jenkins is their anchor on the defensive line, and his presence allows the linebackers behind him to fly around and make plays.
