Ravens | Lamar Jackson takes home hardware    Fri Feb 9, 10:31 AM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson was named the NFL's most valuable player Friday, Feb. 9.

Footballguys view: Jackson was the best player in the league last year. It's too bad the Ravens fell short in the postseason again, because we want to see him take home the Lombardi Trophy.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson to be more involved in scheme    Mon Feb 5, 05:59 AM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will be more involved in developing the offensive scheme moving forward, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Footballguys view: Jackson took steps as a passer in 2023, and there's more to come. Todd Monken crafted an offense that was dangerous, and with Jackson having more input it should be even more custom made for the superstar quarterback.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson fails again in playoffs    Mon Jan 29, 04:25 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 20-of-37 passes for 272 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the AFC Championship Game loss against the Kansas City Chiefs, while rushing eight times for 54 yards with one lost fumble.

Footballguys view: Jackson was uneven, but still good enough to win if the Ravens hadn't shot themselves in the foot with penalties and miscues in the red zone. It will be hard for him to shake the postseason underachiever label after this one, but he'll almost certainly get another chance to rewrite his legacy next season.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson to rest Week 18    Wed Jan 3, 03:26 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will not play in Week 18, head coach John Harbaugh said on Wednesday, Jan. 3.

Footballguys view: That makes sense. The Ravens have the no.1 seed wrapped up in the AFC, and they seem to be the most dangerous team in the NFL postseason - in either conference. Harbaugh added that QB Tyler Huntley will start in his place.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson's status for Week 18 uncertain    Tue Jan 2, 09:34 AM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson's playing status for the Week 18 game has not been determined at this point, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Footballguys view: The Ravens are rolling - and sometimes steamrolling opponents - and have wrapped up the no.1 seed in the AFC. There's a chance Harbaugh thinks Jackson could get some rest, even if it's for half the game, as the team gets ready for what many expect to be a run for the Super Bowl.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson throws five TDs    Sun Dec 31, 05:00 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson went 18-for-21 for 321 yards and five touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins in Week 17. He also rushed for 35 yards on six carries during the game.

Footballguys view: Jackson was nearly flawless on a dominant day for the Ravens offense. The passing game has come on after the Ravens bye and Jackson delivered a lot of fantasy titles today. He shouldn't much if at all next week against the Steelers with the #1 seed locked up.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 24-of-43 passes for 316 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Week 14 against Los Angeles Rams, and he rushed 11 times for a team-high 70 yards.

Footballguys view: Jackson had two long touchdowns against busted coverage, and then led a late go-ahead touchdown drive capped by a pass to Zay Flowers, but it was a punt return by Tylan Wallace that ended the game in overtime. Jackson is back to his elite fantasy ways heading into a matchup with Jacksonville.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson back at practice    Fri Dec 8, 12:13 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (illness) is practicing Friday, Dec. 8.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson plays well on TNF    Fri Nov 17, 02:06 AM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 16 of 26 passes for 264 yards and a pair of touchdowns during the team's 14-point win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Jackson also ran the ball nine times for 54 yards.

Footballguys view: Jackson had his best fantasy game in a while even though he lost his #1 target early in the game. He'll face a soft Chargers defense next week and that's good enough to make him a no brainer starter in fantasy and then the Ravens have their bye. San Francisco is the only tough pass defense Jackson faces from Weeks 14-17.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson mistake-prone in loss    Sun Nov 12, 05:45 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 13-of-23 passes for 223 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, including a pick-six in the fourth quarter, in Week 10 against the Cleveland Browns. He rushed eight times for a team-best 41 yards.

Footballguys view: Jackson's numbers were held down a bit by a spirited Browns offense, but a play from ahead game script and big total plays/time of possession deficit lowered his ceiling further. He has been a boom/bust play and Thursday, he will face a solid Bengals defense that just got shredded by CJ Stroud.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson has strong connection with Mark Andrews    Wed Nov 8, 03:00 AM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has a 136.7 quarterback rating when has targeted TE Mark Andrews this season, according to Pro Football Reference. That mark ranks second among qualified leaders behind only Detroit Lions WR Josh Reynolds.

Footballguys view: This headline could be from any time Jackson and Andrews have been teammates with the Ravens. Their connection is one of the strongest in the league, and you can see it on film. The Todd Monken offense is more robust than what Greg Roman used to put together, but Jackson to Andrews will always remain a big part of what the Ravens do through the air.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson nearly reaches 250 total yards    Sun Nov 5, 04:27 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson went 21-for-26 for 187 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9. He also rushed 60 yards on 10 carries during the game but did lose a fumble.

Footballguys view: Jackson had a bad fantasy showing because the Ravens scored all three touchdowns on the ground and had the game in hand by halftime. Jackson is playing well, but the resurgence of the run game and overall dominance of the team is keeping him from having ceiling games. The Browns tough defense is up next, so Jackson could disappoint again, but don't bench him.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson does just enough    Sun Oct 29, 10:26 PM

Ravens | Lamar Jackson carves up Detroit    Sun Oct 22, 04:31 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 21-of-27 passes for 357 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions, while adding nine runs for 36 yards and another score.

Footballguys view: The Todd Monken pass offense finally came together against a Lions defense that was one of the most improved in the league... until this game. Jackson had one of the biggest fantasy games of the year and he could be the most valuable quarterback in fantasy football in the second half of the year. Next week's matchup at Arizona is just as promising.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson close to 300 total yards    Sun Oct 15, 12:48 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson went 21-for-30 for 223 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Tennessee Titans in Week 6. He also rushed for 62 yards on 13 carries during the game.

Footballguys view: Blame the Titans offense if you feel let down by Jackson's output vs. a vulnerable pass defense. The Ravens were not as aggressive in the second half while they nursed a big lead, and they felt comfortable setting for field goals. Jackson could be in a shootout with the Lions next week, but the Lions defense is also coming on, so it should be a good test.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson doesn't produce TD    Sun Oct 8, 05:09 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 22-of-38 passes for 236 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, while rushing six times for 45 yards and no scores with one lost fumble.

Footballguys view: Jackson fell to 1-3 all-time against the Steelers, which indicates he has missed a lot of games against his division rival and been held down in the ones he has appeared in. The Steelers pass rush harassed Jackson and there were some plays left on the field that could have been made in the passing game. He'll face a vulnerable Titans pass defense next week.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson totals four touchdowns    Sun Oct 1, 05:27 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 15-of-19 passes for 186 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns, while running nine times for 27 yards and two more scores.

Footballguys view: Jackson and the Ravens offense got little going at first, but once a turnover set them up with a short field, everything came together. Jackson has been terrific finishing drives and he is getting more efficient in the Todd Monken passing game. The Steelers usually play Jackson tough, but he has to be in fantasy lineups next week.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson impressive with the feet    Sun Sep 24, 08:47 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 22-of-31 passes for 202 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts, while adding 14 runs for a team-best 101 yards and two touchdowns. It wasn't all great, as fumbled twice, losing one. It was his first 100-yard rushing game since Week 3 last season against the New England Patriots.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson throws two touchdowns    Sun Sep 17, 05:42 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson went 24-for-33 for 237 yards and two touchdowns against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. He also rushed for 54 yards on 12 carries during the game.

Footballguys view: Jackson was efficient in the short passing game and hit Zay Flowers on a deep ball. While he did lose Odell Beckham in this game, Nelson Agholor was a quality replacement and the pass offense didn't miss a beat. Expect an even bigger game from Jackson against the Colts pass defense that almost gave up 400 yards to CJ Stroud today.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson will not play Saturday    Fri Aug 11, 12:06 AM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will not play in the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 12.

Footballguys view: While it would be good for him to get live reps in the new Todd Monken offense, the team also doesn't need to risk his health any more than necessary. We're excited to see Jackson in the faster and more pass-friendly approach on offense, but it will have to wait at least another week.

Ravens | Zay Flowers drawing raves for offseason work    Tue Jun 20, 03:44 PM

Baltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers suffered the occasional drop during spring practices, but teammates and coaches raved about his 'sharp change of direction,' according to ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley.'Zay is shifty. Zay is very fast, explosive. He can stop on the dime,' QB Lamar Jackson told ESPN.com recently.

Footballguys view: There's nothing like news about Flowers to really get us excited. The rookie has a tremendous 'my ball' mentality, and he can make circus catches seem routine. The Ravens have worked to improve the wide receivers around QB Lamar Jackson, and the 2023 first-round pick could play at a Pro Bowl level when playing at his full potential. Honestly, that may take a year or two, but Flowers will get to work alongside Odell Beckham Jr and Rashod Bateman this season while he learns the pro game.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson expecting more freedom on offense    Mon Jun 12, 01:53 AM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is working with offensive coordinator Todd Monken for the first time in 2023, and recently told ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley that '(Monken) is basically just giving us the keys to the offense.''We've been in that world before (being able to audible more freely at the line), but not to this degree. To me, the offense starts in that world more than it did before, and I'm excited about that, [and] I know Lamar is excited about that,' head coach John Harbaugh said.

Footballguys view: Things got stale under former OC Greg Roman. Jackson will have the freedom to do more as a passer this year, and the Ravens have gone out of their way to continue adding quality pass catchers this offseason. We're intrigued by what Jackson could be this year, and if he takes to the offense (and stays health) there is a chance he could finish 2023 as the no.1 fantasy quarterback.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson expects less running    Fri May 26, 01:03 AM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson said he expects to do more throwing and less running in offensive coordinator Todd Monken's offensive scheme.

Footballguys view: We're anxiously waiting to see how Jackson looks in Monken's offense. He's likely to thrive as a passer, but Jackson will still be a dangerous runner when he needs to be. If Jackson finishes 2023 as the no.1 fantasy QB, we wouldn't be surprised.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson plans to be at workouts    Thu May 25, 01:22 AM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson said he plans to participate in all of the offseason workouts.

Footballguys view: Jackson is ready to continue proving his doubters wrong. That means learning a new offense under OC Todd Monken this offseason. If the weapons around him are healthy, Jackson should have improved numbers as a passer while still continuing as one of the most dangerous runners in the league.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson arrives    Tue May 23, 09:43 AM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson arrived for the second day of organized team activities Tuesday, May 23.

Footballguys view: Jackson is in the building! He did not attend the first day, but reports indicated he would show up for OTAs and he did. Jackson is learning a new offense under OC Todd Monken, and it should feature him as a runner and as a passer. A finish as the best fantasy quarterback in 2023 is not out of the realm of possibilities for Jackson.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson likely to get some spring work in    Mon May 22, 03:07 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson did not attend the first of the team's 10 organized team workouts Monday, May 22, but he is expected to be in attendance at some point later this week.

Footballguys view: Jackson will spend this offseason learning Todd Monken's system. His scheme should be more creative than the offense Jackson ran under former OC Greg Roman. They've got more weapons around him, and Jackson's upside in this offense is through the roof - for the Ravens and for Fantasy GMs.
