Ravens | Lamar Jackson to run wild?    Fri Nov 8, 10:19 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (illness) faces the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 10, and the Bengals are allowing a league-high 177.6 rushing yards per game. Jackson ran for 152 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries when these teams met in Week 6.

Footballguys view: Jackson can run wild, but the team may just let Mark Ingram do the heavy lifting on the ground. Ingram should have a good game and Gus Edwards may get some work as a touchdown vulture against a hapless Bengals team in Week 10. Jackson is a must-start QB1 for Fantasy GMs.

  Ravens | Baltimore's Week 10 injury report    Fri Nov 8, 03:29 PM

Baltimore Ravens S Earl Thomas (non-injury, knee) did not practice Friday, Nov. 8, and is listed as questionable for Week 10 against the Cincinnati Bengals. WR Chris Moore (thumb), DT Daylon Mack (knee, hip) and WR Marquise Brown (ankle, thigh) were limited Friday and are also listed as questionable. OT Ronnie Stanley (knee), OG Marshal Yanda (illness) and QB Lamar Jackson (illness) practiced in full Friday and are listed as questionable as well. CB Jimmy Smith (non-injury) was added to the injury report and did not practice Friday but has been cleared to play. RB Mark Ingram (non-injury) and DT Brandon Williams (non-injury) practiced in full and have been removed from the injury report.

Footballguys view: The Ravens could decide to rest Thomas and Brown this week in a game against the Bengals that they can win without them, but all signs point to both playing. Brown has a very high ceiling against a thin Bengals secondary.

Chiefs | LeSean McCoy gashing defenses on first down    Tue Oct 15, 02:57 PM

Kansas City Chiefs RB LeSean McCoy leads all rushers - minimum 20 rush attempts - with 6.79 yards per carry on first down. Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson ranks second at 6.32, while Minnesota Vikings RB Alexander Mattison (5.87), Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (5.83) and San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida (5.71) round out the top five.

Footballguys view: McCoy can still play at a high level...provided he hangs onto the rock and does a good job in pass protection. The Chiefs travel to Denver to play the Broncos on Thursday night. McCoy has flex appeal in that matchup.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson rumbles for 152 yards, TD    Sun Oct 13, 06:34 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 21-of-33 passes for 236 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but he had 19 runs for 152 yards and a score. He became the first player in the Super Bowl era to throw for 200 yards and run for 150 yards in the same game.

Footballguys view: Jackson was unstoppable as a runner and looks more aggressive than ever in that aspect of his game. His floor and ceiling are as high as any fantasy quarterback because of it. He might be the most valuable fantasy quarterback heading into a matchup at Seattle.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 24-of-34 passes for 247 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns and he ran nine times for 66 yards.

Footballguys view: Jackson saved fantasy teams in garbage time but had a long day against the Browns. He and the offense bogged down at key points as the game got away from them in the fourth quarter. Jackson travels to Pittsburgh next week but remains an elite fantasy quarterback if these are his down games.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson loses in showdown    Sun Sep 22, 07:45 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 22-of-43 passes for 267 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs in his battle with QB Patrick Mahomes. He was able to run eight times for 46 yards and a score in the loss.

Footballguys view: Jackson's two biggest plays as a passer were desperation throws that he was lucky to not have intercepted. He scored as a runner when the game was basically decided, so this was a good result for fantasy considering how bad of an afternoon he had. He'll be a high ceiling QB1 against Cleveland next week.

Ravens | Ravens | Lamar Jackson tosses five TDs    Sun Sep 8, 04:37 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 17-of-20 passes for 324 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 1 rout of the Miami Dolphins. He also rushed three times for six yards.

Footballguys view: Jackson worked the Dolphins defense, mostly on passes to rookie Marquise Brown. He didn't do much as a runner, and we'll be excited to see if Jackson continues to shine as a passer going forward. We love what he did on Sunday but everyone needs to acknowledge just how awful the Dolphins defense is going to be in 2019.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed six of his 10 pass attempts for 58 yards and rushed twice for 14 yards in a 26-13 preseason win over the Green Bay Packers Thursday, Aug. 15.

Footballguys view: Jackson had one run that was Michael Vick-esque with elusiveness and speed. He should be rising up draft boards with an easy early schedule of Miami, Arizona and Kansas City.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson: Offense under wraps    Fri Aug 9, 12:39 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson says the offense the team ran Thursday, Aug. 8, in its 29-0 preseason win over the Jacksonville Jaguars won't resemble the attack the Ravens will display come the regular season. '(They're) not close at all,' Jackson said. 'We ran like a couple plays a lot. We really didn't show anything at all. It's going to be fun to watch though.'

Footballguys view: Jackson will be a great Week 1 DFS start against a Miami defense that is overmatched and probably won't be prepared for what they see. He also gets Arizona and Kansas City the next two weeks after that, making him an excellent QB1 to start the season if you wait on the position.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson to limit running?    Fri Aug 2, 02:10 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson told 'The Rich Eisen Show' on Thursday, Aug. 1, that he doesn't expect to carry the ball as much as during his rookie season when he set the NFL single-season record in 2018 for rushing attempts by a quarterback with 147 despite not making his first start until Week 11.'I don't think I'll be running as much as I did last year. There were a lot of (run-pass options) and a lot of sudden changes in last year's game. This will be totally different,' Jackson said.

Footballguys view: Jackson can still make up for a drop in rushing attempts per game with better pass efficiency and more pass attempts. He's still one of the best quarterbacks to target outside of the top ten.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson bulked up    Fri Jul 26, 02:08 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson told reporters he added seven to 10 pounds of muscle to his frame during the offseason.

Footballguys view: Jackson didn't miss time despite a huge workload as a runner last year. That is likely to reduce this year, and the added muscle should help his durability.

Ravens | Third down crucial for Lamar Jackson    Sun Jul 7, 10:03 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson ranked 31st in passer rating (76.0) and 32nd in completion rate (55.1 percent) on third downs last season.

Footballguys view: Jackson needs to be a better passer in obvious passing situations. The reports about Jackson this offseason have been lukewarm at best in terms of what he's doing with his arm. We'll have to see if Jackson looks improved as a passer in training camp and the preseason before we get too excited about his prospects. However, with Jackson's elite athleticism there is no denying his upside as a fantasy quarterback. He's a QB2 with upside, and Jackson has a current ADP of QB20 (12.11) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson may work with QB guru    Thu Jun 13, 05:27 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson indicated he may work with noted 'quarterback guru' Tom House over the summer and confirmed he will throw to his teammates in either Baltimore or somewhere in Florida in July.

Footballguys view: It sounds like Jackson needs to. The reports from OTAs and minicamp were not kind about Jackson's progression as a passer. He's got time to improve, and it sounds like he'll use his 'off' time to get some more work in. Jackson's rushing ability and the improved playmakers around him could make him produce like a QB1 in some weeks for Fantasy GMs. Jackson is currently going off the board at QB22 (13.08) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson said Thursday, June 13, he might work with throwing coach Tom House before the start of training camp.

Footballguys view: It sounds like Jackson needs to. The reports from OTAs and minicamp were not kind about Jackson's progression as a passer. He's got time to improve, and it sounds like he'll use his 'off' time to get some more work in.   Ravens | Lamar Jackson to stay in pocket?    Thu May 30, 09:35 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson 'is not going to be running 20 times a game' in 2019, according to owner Steve Bisciotti.

Footballguys view: Jackson has to get better at making plays from the pocket. His running ability, incredible in and of itself, has to be more of a complementary weapon to his arm. Jackson should still run plenty in 2019, but the team wants him to stay healthy and to do so the second-year pro must become more nuanced as a passer.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson struggles with accuracy    Fri May 24, 10:03 AM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson struggled with his accuracy in organized team activities, and he especially had trouble in the red zone. Jackson showed increased velocity, but several of his passes wobbled through the air. Jackson has impressed with his work in the team's conditioning program this offseason.

Footballguys view: This report doesn't mean Jackson's a bust or anything like that, but we will be following the clues we get out of Ravens camp this year. His elite athleticism gives Jackson QB1 upside for Fantasy GMs but he has to become more of a threat as a passer or defenses will catch up to his one-dimensional game. The ability as a passer is there, the Ravens just have to find a way to bring it out of their young quarterback. He's currently going off the board at QB21 (13.05) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson working on mechanics    Tue Apr 16, 12:39 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson said Tuesday, April 16, that his 2018 accuracy issues were the result of his mechanics breaking down while trying to the ball out. As a result, Jackson said he's been working on his mechanics and consistency this offseason.

Footballguys view: Jackson is a work in progress as a passer. Last year the Ravens revamped their offense to fit Jackson's skill set when Joe Flacco was down. Now Flacco has been traded to the Broncos and Baltimore is Jackson's team. They made the playoffs last year but they need Jackson to improve as a passer if the team wants to take the next step.

Ravens | Baltimore attempting to rebuild offense    Tue Feb 19, 09:07 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is expected to be the focal point of an offense that is undergoing a 'reimagining,' according to offensive coordinator Greg Roman. 'We're really looking at this as a completely new beginning as if we were a new staff. I think we have run an offense here that has been kind of morphed over the years, and we really want to start fresh, start new, and (with) everything from our language, our formations, how we do everything, rebuild the thing from the ground up. That's one angle. The other angle is really, how do we want to move forward with Lamar Jackson? He's a unique player with a unique skill set, so let's build an offense that really accommodates that, as opposed to try to fit him into something that other people had once done,' Roman told The Athletic.

Footballguys view: The Ravens are trading away QB Joe Flacco to nobody's surprise. The team made the move to Jackson last year and saw their offense go run-heavy with the rookie quarterback.

Ravens | Will Lamar Jackson attract free agents?    Fri Feb 8, 12:07 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will draw free agents to the team, general manager Eric DeCosta said Wednesday, Feb. 6, and not just because his salary-cap hit, which will be $24 million less than what's due to departing QB Joe Flacco. 'I think players respect talent,' DeCosta said. 'I think players respect athletes and competitors. Anyone can watch Lamar Jackson and see how talented he is and what kind of a competitor he is. Players also want to win, and I think that's something that drives every professional athlete -- winning games. I think they'll recognize that about us. When they watch us play, they'll want to play here.'

Footballguys view: Jackson is an exciting young quarterback, and the Ravens look poised to open a Super Bowl window. He could attract free agents, but attracting wide receivers may be difficult due to his limitations as a passer and the team's run-heavy scheme.

Ravens | Lamar Jackson expected to hire throwing coach    Fri Jan 25, 12:33 PM

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will 'throw a lot' this offseason, according to head coach John Harbaugh, who expects Jackson to 'come back a better quarterback skill-wise than when he left.' Harbaugh told The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec that Jackson will ultimately decide who he will work with but suggested he'll be working with a throwing coach.

Footballguys view: Jackson needs the work as a passer. We'll be monitoring his progress as the offseason rolls on, but there should be an expectation for him to get better when throwing the ball. Jackson has QB1 upside for Fantasy GMs because of his incredible skill as a runner.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson's 265 rushing yards are the most by a quarterback in his first three NFL starts in the Super Bowl era, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Footballguys view: Jackson is the starter for the Ravens for now, but there has been speculation that Joe Flacco would at least split snaps with Jackson against the Chiefs in Week 14. We'll see if the Ravens actually do that, but it's going to be difficult to go away from Jackson. His rushing ability makes him a QB1 option for Fantasy GMs, provided Baltimore doesn't mess this up with a rotation.
