Raiders | Derek Hagan, Chad Jackson showing well Thu Aug 11, 01:45 AM
Oakland Raiders WR Derek Hagan and Chad Jackson, signed last week, are making the wide receiver competition interesting with their play in practice, although the favorites to be the top six wideouts remains WRs Jacoby Ford (arm), Darrius Heyward-Bey, Nick Miller (undisclosed), Denarius Moore, Louis Murphy (undisclosed) and Chaz Schilens.
Footballguys view: Many aren't expecting much from either Hagan or Jackson. They've both failed to live up to expectations during their pro career but could have a shot to make the final roster in Oakland if they have a strong preseason. |

Raiders | Chad Jackson signed Sat Aug 6, 03:22 PM
The Oakland Raiders have signed free-agent WR Chad Jackson (Bills). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Jackson is just doing the highly-drafted bust training camp tour that many people do for their summer vacation. The Raiders have a tons of injuries at wide receiver right now and they could use the camp body. |

Bills | Chad Jackson impressing new team Sun Jul 11, 07:27 PM
Adam Caplan, from FoxSports.com, reports that according to his sources, former Patriots second-round pick WR Chad Jackson might have been the most impressive player from an offensive skill standpoint during post-draft workouts.
Footballguys view: Jackson busted as a pick for the Patriots, and moved on to the Denver Broncos in 2008. He was released in September of 2009, and spent the year out of the league. The Bills decided to pick him up in March of this year, and Jackson is competing for the starting job opposite Lee Evans. He's been a disappointment so far during his career, and we don't think he'll beat out Steve Johnson for the starting role. |

Bills | C. Jackson signed Wed Mar 31, 03:45 PM
Chris Brown, of BuffaloBills.com, reports the Buffalo Bills have signed unrestricted free-agent WR Chad Jackson (Broncos). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Jackson hasn't done much during his pro career, and we're not expecting much from him now that he's in Buffalo. The Bills should add at least one more wide receiver in the 2010 NFL Draft. |

Broncos | Jackson starts opposite of Royal Mon Aug 31, 11:26 AM
Jeff Legwold, from the Denver Post, notes that with the Broncos' current state of affairs on the outside, Eddie Royal and Chad Jackson lined up as the starters. Brandon Stokley came in as the third receiver, Brandon Lloyd the fourth. Of Orton's 12 completions, five went to Royal, with no other wide receiver catching more than one.
Footballguys view: Brandon Marshall should be the starter for the regular season opener against the Bengals if he can get his head on straight. Chad Jackson knows the system, having played under McDaniels in New England, but once Marshall returns he will go back to the bench. For dynasty players, we like the future upside of rookie WR Kenny McKinley who had 4 catches for 75 yards against the Bears. |

Broncos | Chad Jackson seeing an increase in reps Fri Jul 10, 01:40 PM
Frank Schwab, from the Colorado Springs Gazette, reports Chad Jackson seemed to get more reps as minicamps went along, and the former second-round pick probably realizes he might be running out of chances if he doesn't make the team.
Footballguys view: Chad Jackson is familiar with the offense from his days in New England with Josh McDaniels. He's recently commented how he and Jabar Gaffney are helping the other receivers get used to this complex system. Jackson is currently listed as seventh on the depth chart, but this long shot is going to use his experience to help earn a roster spot in training camp. |

Broncos | Jackson poised to perform Wed Jul 8, 12:17 PM
Chris Gentilviso, from DenverBroncos.com, reports WR Chad Jackson feels confident heading into the 2009 season. "There's a lot of people out there that know what I can do," Jackson said. "I just haven't done it in a while. But once I get the ball this season, I can show everybody what I can do." Jackson's comfort stems from the fluid feel he already has for Head Coach Josh McDaniels' offensive system. With McDaniels as his coordinator in 2006, Jackson demonstrated his big-play capabilities. Three of his 13 catches during that rookie season were for touchdowns, and McDaniels' playbook is back in play to help him replicate those numbers.
Footballguys view: Jackson and Jabar Gaffney both played in the McDaniels offense in New England and are helping the Broncos receivers get up to speed in the new offense. Not many are expecting much out of Jackson this season as he's in a battle just to make the final roster. He's currently listed as 7th on the depth chart but because of his familiarity he could stick around in Denver. It's doubtful that Jackson sees much playing time in 2009 unless injuries ravage the WR corps. |
