Ravens | Hot hand approach at RB?    Thu Sep 5, 12:25 PM

Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman said Thursday, Sept. 5, that RB Mark Ingram is the team's starter, but 'we'll see who has the hot hand. ... Everybody is going to contribute, and we really like all of our backs.'

Footballguys view: Ingram is the lead back and the one with the most fantasy value at this time. We've got Ingram as a RB2 against the Dolphins this week, and he could post at least flex worthy numbers all season long. We'll see how much of a RBBC the Ravens implement as the season goes on.

Ravens | Mark Ingram an every-down back?    Thu Jul 25, 10:04 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Mark Ingram is the 'logical choice' to serve as the third-down back, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

Footballguys view: Ingram has never had a full season of bell cow work, but the Ravens offense will give him a chance to top his career high in carries if he stays healthy. He can also add a lot as a receiver even though he isn't known for it. His ADP reflects his upside in this situation and downside as a running back turning 30 this year well.

Baltimore Ravens RB Mark Ingram said Tuesday, April 16, he's only been with his new team for a few days but it already 'feels like home.'

Footballguys view: Ingram has been with the Saints for what feels like forever. A first-round pick of the Saints in 2011, Ingram now finds himself with a new team. The Ravens should use him like a lead back in 2019, and he may be a RB2 for Fantasy GMs in 2019.

Baltimore Ravens RB Mark Ingram said he expects the running attack to be 'dangerous' and 'explosive' this season.

Footballguys view: It's going to be explosive and dangerous because of Ingram and quarterback Lamar Jackson. Ingram should be the lead back for the Ravens, and the team should give Jackson plenty of opportunities to run the rock. We see Ingram as a RB2 with upside for Fantasy GMs in 2019.

Baltimore Ravens RB Mark Ingram was introduced at a news conference Friday, March 15, and proclaimed 'my best football is ahead of me.'

Footballguys view: Ingram, a first-round pick out of Alabama back in 2011, has two 1,000-yard seasons in his pro career. He missed four games last year due to suspension but was a productive runner when he got back onto the field. Ingram should be the lead back for the Ravens and a RB2 with upside for Fantasy GMs in 2019.

Saints | Mark Ingram talking extension    Fri Mar 1, 10:49 PM

New Orleans Saints impending free-agent RB Mark Ingram is meeting with the Saints Saturday, March 2, to discusses a possible contract to remain with the team.

Footballguys view: Ingram was a first-round pick of the Saints back in the 2011 NFL draft. He's a big part of their rushing attack, splitting time/touches with Alvin Kamara. Ingram should have a healthy market if he hits free agency, so the veteran might be out of the price range of the Saints. At this time, they only have $10.7 million in cap space according to OverTheCap.com.

Saints | Mark Ingram unlikely to receive tag    Sun Feb 17, 03:23 PM

New Orleans Saints impending free-agent RB Mark Ingram likely will not receive the franchise tag this offseason, in the opinion of ProFootballTalk.com's Mike Florio.

Footballguys view: Ingram should be looking for lead-back work on the open market after splitting time with Alvin Kamara over the last two seasons. We'd like to see a run-heavy team like Baltimore land the veteran power back. Ingram should have no shortage of suitors in free agency.

Ravens | Mark Ingram a fit in Baltimore?    Sat Feb 9, 01:51 AM

The Baltimore Ravens could attempt to sign New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram in free agency, in the opinion of ESPN's Jamison Hensley, who thinks Ingram's durability and physicality make him a perfect fit for the Ravens' offense.

Footballguys view: Ingram is a hard-nosed running back who can grind down an opponent. That sounds exactly like the type of back the Ravens covet. With Alex Collins likely gone this offseason, the Ravens may be looking for another back to put in the mix with guys like Gus Edwards and Kenneth Dixon.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram rushed 13 times for 52 yards and a touchdown in Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he added one grab for just one yard.

Footballguys view: Ingram has failed to establish a solid floor since coming back from a suspension this year. His touchdown bailed out anyone who started him, but he's not an automatic play next week at Carolina on Monday night.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram rushed seven times for 27 yards and gained one yard on two receptions in a 13-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 13.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram rushed 11 times for 52 yards and caught two passes for 14 yards in a 31-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12.

Footballguys view: Ingram earned some tough yards between the tackles but didn't get to convert any touchdowns, so his fantasy day was a let down despite the good matchup. He'll still be worthy of an RB2 start at Dallas on Thursday.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram rushed 13 times for 104 yards in the Week 10 game against the Cincinnati Bengals and he added three receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown on three targets.

Footballguys view: Ingram was strong early in the passing game with a near walk-in touchdown and strong later in the running game as the Saints put it away with a lot of time to spare. He'll be a solid RB2 despite the tough matchup against the Eagles next week.

Saints | Mark Ingram activated for Monday    Sat Oct 6, 04:51 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram was officially activated to the 53-man roster Saturday, Oct. 6 and the team cut RB Mike Gillislee to make room.

Footballguys view: Ingram is back in action for the Saints this week and the veteran back should take some touches away from Alvin Kamara. Fantasy GMs should know that this backfield can support both...just like it did last year. Kamara is the clear-cut lead back and an every week RB1 starter. Ingram might get eased back in this week with 10 or so touches...and that makes him more of a deep flex play in Week 5. Going forward, Ingram could have RB2/flex value once he's back in football shape.

Saints | Mark Ingram reconfigures balance    Tue Oct 2, 01:55 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram is back after serving a four-game suspension to open the season. 'We'll have to figure out the balance (between Ingram and RB Alvin Kamara,' Payton said Tuesday, Oct. 2. 'It'll be good for us offensively to have (Ingram) back.'

Footballguys view: The Saints can support two RB1s for Fantasy GMs. They did that last year and should be able to pick up where they left off. Ingram will serve as a backup to Alvin Kamara but the veteran power back should get plenty of touches. In his first week back, we like Ingram as a RB2 or flex play just to see if he's eased back into action.

Saints | Mark Ingram explains absence    Wed Jun 13, 08:52 AM

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram explained Tuesday, June 12, his absence from voluntary minicamp by stating he was in South Florida working with a personal trainer to improve speed and route running. 'I'm not angry with my contract,' he added. 'I wasn't holding out. I'm in the last year of my deal; of course I'd like an extension, but that's not the reason I wasn't here.'

Footballguys view: There was a ton of speculation that Ingram wanted a new deal...which seems ludicrous given the fact that he's suspended for the first four games of 2018 and Alvin Kamara has emerged as a top weapon for the Saints. Ingram will miss the first month of the season, then he should resume work as the team's no.2 RB behind Kamara.

Saints | Mark Ingram shows up for minicamp    Tue Jun 12, 12:39 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram is taking part in mandatory minicamp Tuesday, June 12, after skipping the team's voluntary workouts earlier this spring.

Footballguys view: Set to be a free agent in 2019, Ingram is reportedly unhappy with his current contract. It doesn't help his case that he's been suspended for the first four games of the 2018 season, and having Alvin Kamara emerge with star production doesn't help either. Ingram, even though suspended to start the regular season, can still practice with the team and even play in the preseason.

Saints | Mark Ingram to report to minicamp    Thu May 24, 01:40 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram is expected to report to the mandatory three-day minicamp in June despite being suspended for the first four games of the regular season, according to head coach Sean Payton.

Footballguys view: We're going to see just how much of a load Alvin Kamara can carry, aren't we? He's going to be featured and then some while Ingram is out suspended. Kamara is a top ten overall fantasy pick at this point in the offseason.

Saints | Alvin Kamara won't be overworked    Sat May 12, 10:42 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara won't be overworked during RB Mark Ingram's suspension, according to head coach Sean Payton. 'By all means, we don't want to sit there and run the tread off the back with him early in the season because this thing it's a marathon, 16 games,' Payton said.

Footballguys view: Kamara is going to have a larger role in 2018, especially with Mark Ingram suspended the first four games of the year. We'll see him maintain a large role even when Ingram comes back in Week 5. The Saints will continue to use a rotation of backs behind Kamara, likely led by Jonathan Williams while Ingram is out.

Saints | Mark Ingram's appeal denied    Wed May 9, 12:54 PM

Updating an earlier report, New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram's appeal of his four-game suspension has been heard and denied by the league, according to sources.

Footballguys view: The appeal was already denied before the suspension was handed down. Ingram, entering the final year of his contract, will miss the first month of the season. Alvin Kamara will be in line for a huge role. Monitor the backups behind those two as we're curious to see how Jonathan Williams does with an opportunity.

Saints | Mark Ingram appealing    Wed May 9, 10:56 AM

Updating previous reports, New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram is appealing his four-game suspension. David Jones, of VIP Sports Management, says the substance that Ingram failed a drug test is 'permissible with the proper use exemption,' noting it was neither performance enhancing nor illegal. According to the NFLPA, players can take banned substances as long as they have an application for a therapeutic use exemption filled out by a physician and submitted to an independent administrator. It's unclear, though, if Ingram had the exemption.

Footballguys view: The appeal was already denied before the suspension was handed out. Ingram is going to miss the first month of the season, making Alvin Kamara an even more desirable fantasy running back.
