Lions | Terminate the contract of Chris Houston Fri Jun 13, 02:49 PM
The Detroit Lions terminated the contract of CB Chris Houston Friday, June 13.
Footballguys view: Houston is not the same player he used to be. The veteran corner underwent major toe surgery back in May, and reports indicate he could have a degenerative condition in his foot. The injury has to be considered career-threatening, but we could see Houston draw some interest from CB-needy teams if healthy. |

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate (undisclosed), RB Joique Bell (knee), RB Mikel Leshoure (undisclosed), WR Kevin Ogletree (undisclosed), DE Ziggy Ansah (shoulder) and OG Rob Sims (undisclosed) were present, but did not participate in organized team activities Thursday, June 12. Lions | Chris Houston undergoes surgery Fri May 16, 06:00 PM
Detroit Lions CB Chris Houston (toe) underwent surgery on his toe earlier this week, and it's unknown if he'll be able to make it back in time for training camp this summer. 'I'm not certain, to be honest with you,' head coach Jim Caldwell said. 'I kind of leave those things up to our physicians. Those guys went to school for a long time to get those medical degrees and so what I do is try to focus in on what we're doing and I let them sort of navigate through it and give me an indication of it at some point in time.'
