Redskins | Washington signs six players    Mon Dec 31, 05:46 PM

The Washington Redskins signed WR Carlos Henderson, T Roubbens Joseph, WR ArDarius Stewart, RB Elijah Wellman, DT JoJo Wicker and C Casey Dunn to Reserve/Futures contracts Monday, Dec. 31.

Footballguys view: Henderson was a third-round pick of the Broncos in the 2017 NFL draft. He is strong after the catch and has the speed to be dangerous with the rock in his hands. However, off field issues and a lack of discipline caused the Broncos to quickly move on from him. Stewart was also a third-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft. He lasted one year for the Jets before getting bounced, then he got a shot with the Raiders. Stewart, like Henderson, is all about run-after-the-catch ability. We'll monitor both former draft picks but only in super deep dynasty formats.

Free-agent WR Carlos Henderson (Broncos) and WR ArDarius Stewart (Raiders) were signed to the Washington Redskins practice squad Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Footballguys view: Henderson was a third-round pick of the Broncos in the 2017 NFL draft. He is strong after the catch and has the speed to be dangerous with the rock in his hands.   Broncos | Carlos Henderson activated    Mon Sep 10, 06:40 PM

Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson was activated from the practice squad/suspended list Monday, Sept. 10.

Footballguys view: Henderson missed all of his rookie season in 2017 due to injury. The team kept him around even though he was not at training camp due to personal reasons. Henderson is fast and strong after the catch. The Broncos are stacked at the WR position but they've clearly not given up on Henderson just yet.

Broncos | Carlos Henderson may not make team    Wed Jun 13, 03:17 PM

Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson (hamstring) is at risk of missing the final roster if he can't get back on the field, according to head coach Vance Joseph.

Footballguys view: Henderson, a third-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft, missed his rookie season due to a thumb injury. He looked lost on the field before that injury, but the team was anxious to see what he could do this year as potentially their slot WR. Henderson now has a hamstring injury that is keeping him off the field. He's already fifth (at best) on the depth chart and will need a major turnaround to make the 53-man roster.

Broncos | Denver counting on Carlos Henderson    Thu Mar 29, 11:20 PM

Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson has to win his one-on-one matchups to help out WR Demaryius Thomas and WR Emmanuel Sanders, according to head coach Vance Joseph. 'We're counting on that kid to come in and play for us, especially in the slot,' Joseph said.

Footballguys view: Denver shouldn't be counting on Henderson. He looked bad last year in camp before suffering a hand injury that ended his rookie season. Henderson didn't run a complex route tree at Louisiana Tech but can be utilized effectively on drag routes or go routes. We'll see if he can be the no3 WR the Broncos need.

Broncos | High hopes for Carlos Henderson    Sun Mar 4, 08:54 PM

Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson (hand, wrist) has a chance to serve as the team's No. 3 receiver behind WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. Henderson spent the season on the Reserve/Injured list. 'Carlos, unfortunately, broke the hand or the wrist and was not able to go (in 2017). We drafted him in the third round last year. We're excited about him, too,' president of football operations John Elway said.

Footballguys view: That's cool and all, but Henderson has much to learn. He was great in college at Louisiana Tech in terms of run-after-the-catch ability. We'll see if the Broncos can get the most out of Henderson after getting nothing from him in 2017.

Broncos | Carlos Henderson day-to-day    Mon Aug 14, 02:07 PM

Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson (thumb) is considered day-to-day after undergoing surgery on a torn ligament in his left thumb Sunday, Aug. 13, according to head coach Vance Joseph.

Footballguys view: Henderson has not been impressive in Broncos camp. The team could always put him on Injured Reserve or the Physically Unable to Perform List at the start of the regular season. His injury opens up the door for guys like Kalif Raymond or Jordan Taylor to make the 53-man roster.

Broncos | Carlos Henderson set for surgery Sunday    Sat Aug 12, 07:43 PM

Denver Broncos rookie WR Carlos Henderson (thumb) is scheduled to undergo thumb surgery Sunday, Aug. 13.

Footballguys view: Henderson has been disappointing in training camp with too many dropped passes. A third-round pick this year, Henderson could find himself on Injured Reserve as a rookie depending on the recovery time from this thumb surgery.

Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson (thumb) did not participate in practice Saturday, Aug. 12, because of a thumb injury. He is scheduled to undergo tests to determine the severity of the injury.

Footballguys view: Henderson has been a disappointment so far in practice. He drops too many passes and even had problems gathering in kickoffs cleanly.

Broncos | Carlos Henderson picking up offense    Sat May 27, 11:38 PM

Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson is 'swimming' when it comes to learning the offensive schemes, offensive coordinator Mike McCoy said Thursday, May 25.

Footballguys view: Henderson is an exciting rookie to add in dynasty leagues. He reminds some in the scouting community of Randall Cobb (Packers) with a dash of Hines Ward because of his aggressive run-after-the-catch ability. Henderson is the front-runner to win the no3 job behind Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.

Broncos | Denver inks Carlos Henderson    Fri May 26, 03:28 PM

Denver Broncos third-round pick WR Carlos Henderson (Louisiana Tech) signed his four-year rookie contract Friday, May 26. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: We are excited about Henderson in dynasty leagues. Henderson is a tough, physical receiver who excels at running after the catch. Some in the scouting community have compared his game to Randall Cobb (Packers), and Henderson is an aggressive player who can win at the catch point. Henderson will work as the no3 WR for the Broncos behind Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. He's got little value in redraft leagues but the skill set to be a Pro Bowl player in dynasty formats.

Broncos | Carlos Henderson may be kick returner    Wed May 17, 03:48 PM

Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson is expected to receive the first opportunity to win the kick returner job, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jeff Legwold.

Footballguys view: Don't get too carried away but he's a little bit Randall Cobb, a little bit Steve Smith and maybe there's even a dash of Hines Ward to his game. If that doesn't get you excited, then nothing will. Henderson's got great potential as a returner, but the rookie from Louisiana Tech could carve out a role as the no.3 WR in Denver behind Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. He's fierce after the catch and has the speed to take the top off the defense. A former running back, Henderson can stack moves on top of moves with the rock in his hands.

Broncos | Denver adds Carlos Henderson    Fri Apr 28, 11:15 PM

The Denver Broncos selected WR Carlos Henderson with the 82nd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.

Footballguys view: Henderson had a huge year, but only one of them. He needs to improve his route running to get on the field, but should have an impact first on special teams.

NFL | Hype building for Carlos Henderson     Sat Feb 11, 09:30 PM

Louisiana Tech WR Carlos Henderson is expected to run well at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine, and scouts have been told Henderson was 'impossible' to cover in college.

Footballguys view: Henderson is a big playmaker in a small package, although 5'11" 190 pounds isn't tiny he does lack ideal size. In 2016, Henderson was phenomenal racking up 82 receptions for 1,535 yards and 19 touchdowns. He can help as a receiver, but he could also contribute as a return man on special teams. Henderson is considered a fourth- or fifth-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
