Giants | Marcus Harris goes to Injured Reserve Thu Jul 16, 05:59 PM
New York Giants WR Marcus Harris (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Thursday, July 16, after not being claimed. He will not count against the 90-man roster limit. Harris was waived Wednesday, July 15.
Footballguys view: This injury is reportedly of the microfracture variety. That likely means his playing days in the NFL are done. |

Giants | Marcus Harris had microfracture Thu Jul 16, 12:47 PM
New York Giants WR Marcus Harris (knee) had microfracture surgery after the team's minicamp last month. Harris was waived by the Giants earlier this week, and he'll likely land on Injured Reserve if he isn't claimed. Harris was expecting to undergo a routine arthroscopic surgery on the knee, but the damage was worse than expected. He'll miss five to six months.
Footballguys view: Harris was already a longshot to make the final roster. The fourth-year UDFA is likely done playing pro football. |

Giants | NY committed to Rueben Randle? Mon Feb 23, 01:17 PM
New York Giants WR Rueben Randle appears to have the commitment from the team heading into next season after being benched twice in 2014. However, general manager Jerry Reese left open the possibility that the team could draft another receiver this year. 'I think Rueben gets banged on a lot. Sometimes he should get banged on, but I think he gets banged on sometimes a little too much,' Reese said. 'I think he is a good, young player and all he needs are some chances. With Odell and Victor, I think he will get plenty of chances.'
Footballguys view: Randle is--and has always been--inconsistent as a receiver. The Giants are set up top with two star receivers in Cruz and Beckham. Preston Parker, Corey Washington or Marcus Harris could be backup plans if Randle doesn't pan out. |

Giants | Marcus Harris out 3-4 weeks Sat Aug 23, 11:29 AM
Updating a previous report, New York Giants WR Marcus Harris (shoulder) is expected to miss three to four weeks after suffering an AC joint injury in his shoulder during the third preseason game.
Footballguys view: Harris was having a strong camp, and there was a good chance he was going to make the final roster as the team's fifth WR. It will be interesting to see if the Giants make room for Harris even though he's hurt. |

Giants | Mario Manningham fighting for roster spot Wed Aug 13, 06:17 PM
New York Giants WR Mario Manningham is fighting for a roster spot in training camp. Manningham has not looked healthy in practice, in the opinion of Dan Graziano of ESPN.com. Since Manningham signed, the team drafted WR Odell Beckham Jr. and has had good performances from WR Marcus Harris and WR Corey Washington in training camp.
Footballguys view: Manningham is a seasoned veteran, but he's no lock to make the final roster. He returns to the Giants after two disappointing seasons with the 49ers. Manningham enters his seventh season hoping to reclaim his once promising trajectory. |

Giants | Marcus Harris practicing Tue Aug 12, 02:15 PM
New York Giants WR Marcus Harris (hip) is participating in practice Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Footballguys view: Harris is a former arena league WR who has gotten a smattering of first-team snaps and looked good in the first preseason game. Deep dynasty league players need to keep tabs on him. |

Giants | Several don't practice Mon Aug 11, 03:44 PM
New York Giants WRs Victor Cruz (undisclosed), Jerrel Jernigan (undisclosed), FB John Conner (concussion), RB Peyton Hillis (ankle, foot), DT Mike Patterson (shoulder) and WR Marcus Harris all missed practice Monday, Aug. 11.
Footballguys view: That's a big group of players, and it's another three wide receivers out of practice. The Giants are already dealing with rookie Odell Beckham Jr. and a nagging hamstring injury that has slowed him down in camp. |

Giants | Marcus Harris earns praise from coach Sat Aug 9, 09:49 AM
New York Giants WR Marcus Harris (leg) received praise from head coach Tom Coughlin for getting back on the field after suffering an injury in practice earlier this week. 'He's stayed out there,' Coughlin said. 'He's a tough kid. He's had some nicks, but he's out there every day. He works hard at it, he can help on special teams. He caught the ball well (Wednesday), as you saw, and he's usually in the right spot.'
Footballguys view: Coughlin is probably thinking of first-round pick Odell Beckham, who has had trouble staying on the field with hamstring injuries, when he says "he's stayed out there". Harris could make the team and deep dynasty leagues should watch to see if he outperforms underachievers Jerrel Jernigan or Rueben Randle in the preseason for a sign of his future potential. |

Giants | 12 players let go Sat Aug 31, 07:11 PM
The New York Giants have released QB David Carr, RB Ryan Torain, CB Terrence Frederick, WR Julian Talley, LB Kyle Bosworth, DE Adrian Tracy, DE Adewale Ojomo, DT Marvin Austin, OG Eric Herman, OG Bryant Browning, WR Kevin X. Hardy and WR Marcus Harris.
Footballguys view: Getting rid of Torain is interesting given the fact Andre Brown will be out for some time with a broken leg. Carr was expected to be the primary backup behind Eli Manning but loses out on the job to Curtis Painter. Rookie Ryan Nassib will be the team's third-string developmental QB. Some team should have interest in Carr as veteran depth. |
