Commanders | Chase Young out at least 4 games    Tue Aug 23, 11:38 AM

Washington Commanders DE Chase Young (knee) was moved to the reserve/physically unable to perform list on Tuesday, Aug. 23, and will miss at least the first four games of the 2022 season. Young is recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered last season. In addition, Washington placed C Tyler Larsen on the reserve/PUP list, LB Nate Gerry on injured reserve, and released WR Kelvin Harmon and OT Rashod Hill.

Footballguys view: Young suffered a torn ACL last year as a rookie in Week 10. He's been on the road to recovery since then, but he may not be ready to go until after the first month of the season. Now, with this move, Young gets more time to recover and Washington frees up another roster spot for the time being.

Footballguys view: Harmon was a sixth-round pick for WFT in the 2019 NFL draft. He missed all of the 2020 season due to a knee injury suffered getting ready for that season. Now, he's back with WFT on their practice squad and will try to stay healthy, impress and move his way onto the active roster.

Football Team | Two players let go    Sun Aug 15, 12:04 PM

Washington Football Team WR Kelvin Harmon and CB Chris Miller were released Sunday, Aug. 15.

Footballguys view: Harmon was highly rated by some in the draft community, but he fell to the sixth round in 2019. He was reportedly looking good in camp coming off of an ACL tear last year, but the Football Team likes their wide receiver depth and decided that they didn't need him.

Redskins | Kelvin Harmon tears ACL    Tue Jul 14, 11:45 AM

Washington Redskins WR Kelvin Harmon (knee) tore an anterior cruciate ligament while working out prior to the start of training camp, sources say. He is expected to miss the entire 2020 season.

Footballguys view: Harmon was outperforming his sixth-round draft slot after many draft analysts had him rated higher than the NFL. Fourth-round pick Antonio Gandy-Golden gets a valuable opportunity to make an immediate impact, with competition from Cam Sims and Cody Latimer. Antonio Brown has worked out with Dwayne Haskins this offseason, and there's always the possibility that Washington signs him or another veteran, like Josh Gordon.

Redskins | Kelvin Harmon has good chance to start    Fri May 22, 05:59 PM

Washington Redskins WR Kelvin Harmon likely will be the leading candidate to start opposite WR Terry McLaurin entering training camp but will not be guaranteed the job.

Footballguys view: A sixth-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft, Harmon caught 30 passes for 365 yards as a rookie. He failed to score a touchdown in 2019, but Harmon did flash a bit towards the end of the regular season. We'll see who wins the job opposite of McLaurin in training camp.

Redskins | Washington signs eight from draft class    Thu May 9, 05:18 PM

Washington Redskins first-round QB Dwayne Haskins (Ohio State), fourth-round RB Bryce Love (Stanford), fourth-round OG Wes Martin (Indiana), fifth-round C Ross Pierschbacher (Alabama), fifth-round LB Cole Holcomb (North Carolina), sixth-round WR Kelvin Harmon (North Carolina State), seventh-round CB Jimmy Moreland (James Madison) and DE/LB Jordan Brailford (Oklahoma State) to four-year contracts Thursday, May 9. Financial terms of the deals were not immediately disclosed.

Footballguys view: Haskins is the quarterback of the future in Washington. Only Case Keenum is in front of him on the depth chart, and he should be able to surpass him in training camp. Love is a dynamic playmaker who didn't look the same last year coming back from a knee injury. Put on the 2017 Stanford tape and you'll see one of the most exciting backs in college football. We'll see if Love can push a guy like Chris Thompson for playing time when it comes to being a change-of-pace back behind Adrian Peterson.
