Bears | Tried to lure Trent Green out of retirement Mon May 24, 10:50 AM
Retired QB Trent Green spoke with the Chicago Bears three or four weeks ago about possibly signing with the team, according to a source close to Green, reports Mike Mulligan, of the Chicago Sun-Times. Green decided to remain retired; however, the situation might be fluid.
Footballguys view: Green is very familiar with the Mike Martz offense from his playing days with the coach in St. Louis. The veteran quarterback could not only compete for the backup job behind Jay Cutler, he could serve as another coach to help Cutler get used to the system and terminology. It looks like Green is going to stay retired. |
