Raiders | Ryan Grant is top slot option    Thu Jun 27, 02:16 AM

Oakland Raiders WR Ryan Grant appears to be the likeliest option to open the season in the slot, in the opinion of NBC Sports Bay Area's Scott Bair, but the team really likes rookie WR Hunter Renfrow, and Bair believes he'll be given every chance to earn a role. Beyond starting WRs Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams, Bair lists WR Dwayne Harris, the team's return man, as the only other lock.

Footballguys view: The slot could be an oft-targeted stop for short range high percentage passer Derek Carr, but we shouldn't go fishing for value here outside of very deep PPR leagues. It's more likely that the slot usage inhibits the growth of value from Williams or Darren Waller at tight end than it creates standalone value.

Raiders | Ryan Grant among starters    Thu Jun 6, 09:36 PM

Oakland Raiders WR Ryan Grant has been working with the first-team offense in three-receiver sets during spring practices.

Footballguys view: Grant played for Jon Gruden's brother, Jay Gruden, when he was with Washington. He's a seasoned veteran who has never really played up to his potential. The Raiders have Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams to be the starters, so the team is going to look at Grant (or Hunter Renfrow) as an option for the No. 3 receiver.

Raiders | Ryan Grant going to Oakland    Wed Apr 3, 02:16 PM

Free-agent WR Ryan Grant (Colts) was signed to an undisclosed deal by the Oakland Raiders Wednesday, April 3.

Footballguys view: Ryan Grant played in Washington for Jay Gruden and he was a favorite of that staff. No doubt Jay has talked to his brother (and Raiders head coach) Jon Gruden about Grant and his ability. Grant is no lock to make the final roster with the Raiders as they've revamped their WR corps.

Colts | Ryan Grant struggled after injury    Mon Feb 11, 07:59 PM

Indianapolis Colts WR Ryan Grant was able to play in the final nine regular season games after returning from an ankle injury but was held to under three receptions and 25 yards in all nine games.

Footballguys view: Grant wasn't the same after the ankle injury, and then he was listed with a toe injury that caused him to miss time in the playoffs. He's set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

Colts | Ryan Grant practices in full    Wed Sep 12, 06:32 PM

Indianapolis Colts WR Ryan Grant (chest) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Footballguys view: It's a revenge game for Grant this week as the Colts travel to play Washington (his former team). Revenge for Grant should be about five receptions for 50 yards or so on Sunday. Obviously, that doesn't have a ton of fantasy value and we can't recommend him as anything more than a 'what the heck' flex in Week 2.

Colts | Ryan Grant grabs eight receptions    Sun Sep 9, 05:03 PM

Indianapolis Colts WR Ryan Grant posted eight receptions for 59 yards in the Week 1 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Colts | Ryan Grant making push to start    Tue Aug 7, 12:45 PM

Indianapolis Colts WRs Ryan Grant and T.Y. Hilton 'have really separated themselves' with regards to the top two receiver spots on the depth chart, according to head coach Frank Reich.

Footballguys view: Grant appears to still have created a gap between him and rookie standout Deon Cain, with holdover Chester Rogers stuck at no higher than third on the depth chart.

Colts | Ryan Grant listed as starter    Sun Aug 5, 09:34 PM

Indianapolis Colts WR Ryan Grant is listed as the starter opposite WR T.Y. Hilton on the first depth chart released Saturday, Aug. 5.

Footballguys view: Grant was a fifth-round pick out of Tulane in 2014 and basically served as a backup receiver during his three years with Washington. Now with his new team, we'll see if Grant can show well as the starter. Hilton should absorb a lot of targets with Chester Rogers also getting some targets as the slot receiver. Grant caught 45 passes last year with Washington but projecting him for 30-40 catches this year might be fair...even with the new starting role.

Colts | Ryan Grant expected to start at WR?    Sun May 20, 04:56 PM

Indianapolis Colts WR Ryan Grant is the favorite over Chester Rogers to start opposite T.Y. Hilton, based on the one-year, $5 million contract Grant signed in free agency, according to NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal.

Footballguys view: That would make sense, but the competition is open and we won't see until training camp how things shake out. Grant is perhaps better suited to play outside, while Rogers may be best suited to play in the slot. With Andrew Luck back in action, the Colts passing game should have more life in 2018.

Colts | Ryan Grant to move all over    Thu Mar 29, 10:18 PM

Indianapolis Colts WR Ryan Grant has 'position versatility' and can be productive on the outside or in the slot, according to head coach Frank Reich.

Footballguys view: Grant set a career high with 45 catches last year. He could surpass that number this year as he was added to the thin WR corps in Indy. Grant will compete for time/targets opposite of T.Y. Hilton.

Free-agent WR Ryan Grant (Redskins) reportedly signed a one-year contract worth $5 million with the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday, March 20.

Free-agent WR Ryan Grant (ankle) passed a physical with the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, March 18, but left without a deal. He will visit with the Oakland Raiders next, a source said.

Free-agent WR Ryan Grant (Redskins) visited the Indianapolis Colts Friday, March 16, and is scheduled to meet with the team again Saturday, March 17, according to a league source.

Footballguys view: Grant's deal with the Ravens was nixed due to a failed physical (or Michael Crabtree's release) and now he's looking for a home elsewhere. The Colts lost Donte Moncrief (Jaguars) in free agency and could use Grant as depth in the WR corps.

Free-agent WR Ryan Grant (Redskins), who agreed to a four-year, $29 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, March 13, failed his physical with the team and will once again become a free agent.

Footballguys view: The Ravens will fix their attention on Michael Crabtree, who is about as exciting as the #1 in this offense as Ryan Grant was underwhelming. The doctors saved the Ravens from a bad decision.

Washington Redskins impending free-agent WR Ryan Grant agreed to terms with the Baltimore Ravens on a four-year contract worth $29 million with $14.5 million guaranteed and a $10 million signing bonus Tuesday, March 13.

Footballguys view: The Ravens continue collecting wide receivers who are average at best. A fifth-round pick out of Tulane in 2014, Grant is coming off a career high 45 catches, 573 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns. We'll see if he can do more as likely the Ravens top receiving target in 2018.
